In today's video, I am going to share with you how to grow yam plants using yam leaves. This is a very easy way to grow a lot of yam plants compared to growing yams using yam tubers.
I have learnt this online, and I tried it with three leaves, and they had shoots after 2 weeks. this gave me the courage to grow more yam plants using this method. I am so excited, and I can't wait to harvest my yam tubers in seven months. I have all the patience in the world 😄. I hope you learnt something new. Very good. But the yam that you will get will be seed yams and not really for eating. You can now grow the seed yams to get the big tubers.

My pleasure. If the sterms are still green, they will germinate. The weather also contributes to the germination process. Here, things germinate very fast because the weather here is very hot. Be patient a little. I am sure they will germinate eventually

Wow, I have tried this but it only develope roots and has not sprouted new shoots after more than 2 months. Can you pls enlighten me on how to go about it

Very amazing... subscribed immediately! But can you show the video how they're transplanted into beds. Also can one transplant into sacks where beds are not available? I will try this now in my farm and hopefully it will save me from buying yam seeds in the market as usual.

I had one big yam so I cut a piece and planted it. When it grew I then took the leaves to plant so that I can have more yam

It doesn't produce very big Yam but you can use the yams as seed for the next season

It's all up to you but for me I don't add chemicals to my plants. I try by all means to avoid using chemicals because I have severe allergies. That is the main reason I started growing my own food. So if you want you can add that is if you don't react with them. But it is all good to try and grow your food organically. Hope I answered you well. All the best
