In Age of Empires 2 sometimes our expectations are different from what really happens in the game. Watch to find out! Music Kevin MacLeod Mary Gots a Plan Kevin MacLeod Monkeys Spinning Monkeys
@@megdadmosadag7694 Definitive Edition has improved graphics as well as a few gameplay changes and balances. The biggest difference is that you have even more new civs than what were in HD. Poles and Bohemians are the two recent. So they are not the same.
Expectation: I defeat their attacking army and raid their base in retaliation. Reality: I defeat their attacking army only for an another army waiting for me back at their base.
@@edwardblom2661 Here is how you shoot the deer with tc: You garrison the vills gathering sheep under tc as the scout is doing the final push to get the deer under the tc then you flag the deer and ungarrison tc resulting in a successfull push. What Luke is refering to going wrong is that you press the deer before hitting the flag this result in the tc shooting the deer in which case it dies and drop 0 food
I've watched SO MUCH AoE2 content without actually playing it I feel that when I do buy it and try to play this video will be a frame by frame prediction of my experience...
Its everyone's first time experience man, its part of the fun! Ive been playing for 21 years and i will still make some of these mistakes, and sometimes on purpose:p Dont bother with AOE 1, AOE 2 is really fun and addictive, AOE 3 improves on the graphics, same mechanics, some new features. AOE 4 has online play and more features etc. AOM (age of mythology is fun to go to after playing AOE 2). But the classic is the one in the video, AOE2. Just jump in, or hopefully you already have.
I think the last one would have been even funnier if just the archers fought the first wave of villagers off and then when the second wave came the Hussars came out of nowhere to cock block them
The castle drop has another realistic outcome though: You place it & they have a mangonel firing at your vills and then it destroys the castle foundation.
Nice. Really related to the one with the double layer foritified walls, just that the reality there is that they have trebs, and I have no army to kill it with...
@@richardjulien1329 Well, at the level where you make double fortified walls, you probably don't realize that siege can be used against units, not just buildings.
@@light_david7 well, to be honest, it took me time to accept this truth... Because, a battle of trebs, except for the britons, it is really annoying... It's like a game of battleship where each player only has one of the smallest vessel... Lot of miss...
Extra ideas for part 2: Expectation: spears protecting your town from scouts and killing all the scouts. Reality: villagers being exterminated by scouts while spears chase the scouts around. Expectation: three archery ranges on the enemy island. Reality: three archery ranges on the neutral island. Expectation: pikes massacreing cav archers. Reality: cav archers massacreing pikes. Expectation: 20 Onagers destroying their army and base. Reality: like 5 Onagers destroying your own army, each other, and not much of anything else. Expectation: Petards flooding into their base bombing it back to dark age. Reality: Petards streaming at a castle getting annihilated by it. Expectation: Warwolf trebuchets owning everything with highly accurate and devastating fire. Reality: Regular Trebuchet trying to fight a villager and losing. Expectation: Frankish Paladins charging through and annihilating Gbetos and skirms. Reality. Frankish Paladins charging at Gbeto which retreat into a line of pikes.
expectation: Onagers killing the enemy army while their pikes zone off the enemy cavalry reality: onagers 1-shot half of your pikes with their first attack, try to retreat, enemy cavalry overwhelms them, gg.
Expectation: Imperial age standoff, two different civs clashing their unique units and specialties against each other. Reality: Couldn't defend against feudal age archer push.
@@fgfgfgfgt he's talking about the very first second when he starts building. A nearby mangonel will auto attack the foundation and leave your villager standing beside a pile of rubble like "wtf was I doing, wasn't I here to build something?"
Every unit responding to commands in their own language is the most impressive thing about age of empires. It was a mindblowing suprise for me as a child and not expected at all.
Expectation: I'm gonna build an army so immense, my enemies will shiver. Reality: Why is taking so long time?? Why has it stopped producing units?? Wait enemy... I'M NOT READY!!
The castle was built too close to the base at the 3:13 mark. If he had put the castle just a little further away so that the finished product would be able to just barely reach the farms, he likely would not have received attention from the enemy until it was too late.
If I were to build near the enemy, I'd build towers instead, and maybe some wall for added protection. They're quick and cheap to build, and you'll probably have a couple of them finished when the enemy forces arrive. With those first towers, you have something to damage the enemy and a place to shelter and protect the villagers. Also, when villagers take shelter inside a tower, it increases the number of arrows they fire, further improving the strength to cost ratio.
You should do a death match opening segment. Expectation: opening by building farms and economy Reality: opening by spamming houses and military buildings.
