I'd have to say that I'm enjoying this. I like your takes as a new player. This news coverage and discussion is nice, getting your takes as someone new I think offers some good value, like how you mentioned that listbuilding isnt that restrictive to begin with; so how can GW streamline it more without making it too simple? That was a great take that got me thinking somewhere my mind didn't go to as someone with more experience in AoS. But I'll readily admit, I'm most interested in your videos delve into your journey as a new hobbiest and player. But that's just my take.

@@KamenRiderGreed Appreciate it KamenRiderGreed! There will be lots of future hobby videos on my progress! Right now I think 4th ed news is coming hard and fast so I'll be covering a lot of that. But when I get out and play a second game I'll try and do an update video

I'm guessing the "underdog" mechanics is similar to 40k's "Gambit" mechanic, the idea behind it is that any player can choose to stop scoring points around mid game and instead choose to have a massive amount of points awarded for pulling off a big, thematic move- a retreat, not losing certain units or getting a unit in each corner. I've only HEARD of one game being won using a gambit. Usually, the game is decided by the end of turn 3 (out of 5)

In 40k games are often decided by Turn 3? Ah so it's too late to use a comeback mechanic at that stage. Makes sense. Appreciate the insight :D

From a 40k player who is getting into AoS, when I heard "streamlining army building" I immediately thought of 10th edition 40k and what they did with that language (which made army building significantly better). Pretty much they took away restrictions. Have anything you want in your list without limitations outside of named characters limited to 1 and everything else limited to 3 of the same datasheet/warscroll. Battleline can take up to 6 of the same datasheet/warscroll. If they mimic 40k in this manner, which from the language they have been used for almost everything, it seems that - it will probably be a good thing! I just hope they don't take flavor away. That is the biggest negative to 10th edition 40k. They took so much away from armies and units to "simplify" but ended up just taking power and uniqueness away from datasheets, which is what made Age of Sigmar more attractive to me.

Also, please continue to put out AoS content. As I am getting into this game with 4th, I've been trying to find AoS content on youtube and there is much less on here than there is with 40k. We need more people to make content on this game!

So, my prediction is that the removal of listbuilding restrictions means that they'll either get rid of the inherent limits on certain battlefield roles(which I won't get into unless you ask). Or they'll remove Battallions, which aren't technically a "restriction", but they ended up becoming one because alot of players built lists around the best ones. I agree that it'll be good overall to remove the restrictions that barely mattered for alot of armies, but listbuilding was always alot more open in AoS compared to 40K. Though that's only based on my admittedly limited knowledge of 40K 9th edition changing to 10th, I tried 9th once and bounced off hard. As for the "loss of flavor" I agree 100% with you there, because I've heard the same thing about 40K. But I'm more hopeful that we won't lose too much in AoS 4th because they said that they'd keep things like Artefacts and Command Traits as well as regiments/armies of renown. So it doesn't *seem* like they'll have faction flavor gutted in the name of simplicity like what happened with 40K 10th. edition. . . On paper at least. If nothing else, they're not getting rid of spellcasting like they did with 40K's Psychic phase, so that's something.

Whoa! you just said all the things I was just saying to a friend. Good to see someone that shares my sentiments. I'm also new, my first AoS tournament was LVO 24 recently. Shocking knowing all the investment to gain traction will be lost. The new FEC book useless not even 4 months later!?! stunning stuff. Definitely has me reconsidering what to spend money on.

Really disappointed that this is happening. A total revamp from the ground up. That sounds horrible! I love 3rd edition. Simplifying a game will always take flavor out if it. The uniqueness of the factions was one of the best things about it. Streamlining everything? Sorry, that sounds like garbage. I literally haven't heard anything that sounds like good news. Just spin. No offense. Everyone is trying to put a good face on it, at least trying to. Aos is such a great game. But i cant say the same thing about the developers. The old world, 40k, now aos. Im just really really bummed.
