a mini tribute to a talented voice actor, thank you for bringing us laughs and joy with your outstanding performances. may he rest in peace. I give my condolences to his family.
The thing about Anai is he needs to be met with kindness in order to flourish, and some people are just like that. Kabai doesn’t condescend or really even correct him, she instead encouraged him and guided him in how to do his job correctly. She has experience raising kids and Anai really is just a kid just starting his adult life. It’s sweet that under the right guidance he started to shine as a better character.
I wanted to punch him in the face but seeing Kabai see him as a scared child rather than some little brat lashing out at everything and everyone for no reason made me change my mind about him.
THANK YOU!!! My god people saying the next generation are sensitive babies, is pretty accurate, but to those who arent honestly its just show that you care THEN THEY CARE
@@PARIS-ARCANAI don't feel it's accurate, the avarage kids are not figures you listen about when they complain of genuine concerning stuff because that's not interesting, why would the algorithm show that When it happens to be something stupid however it's suddenly all over the media and all the generation it's stupid and over sensitive and doesn't care about things that matter
@@giulianoaaronfrancoynsfran4858 i mean being sensitive matters, the problem is that many teens begin to over complain on matters that arent really something that can be solved so easily, and hearing over complaints especially from teens it does become a media thing since now everyone has an opinion using media
He was one of the most talented VAs for this show and carried it with humor and tumors, a real condolence to him with how he died, his family, his fans, his VA partners, and all he has done is a king's work. The last clip in the video is how I feel with him gone, it's this upsetting while having Anai as a memorable character. Rest in peace Billy Kametz, hope you stay loose on the griddle in Heaven. ✌️
I was looking up Aggretsuko and found out the voice actor changed. I thought ‘did something happen?’ or ‘was he unavailable?’ This was not how I wanted to find out :( R.I.P Billy Kametz
@@marce420.7 same here, I stopped watching the show around when Tadano's business is revealed, and Anai was honestly one of my favorites. Can't believe his og VA is gone
People always say that Anai is an asshole and an a coward but he's fresh out of college, he's scared of everything, it's even worse when everyone expect perfection from him, and when of course he messes something up (as he should, he's new at it) he got defensive and scared. I like that he end up being a part of the team Edit: also i like how Kabae's motherly attitude was enough to soft him up because she didn't scare him, she kindly explain him how things work at an slow pace and simple language.
The entire show is based around the problems faced within the corporate environment in Japan. Anai is a reflection of the extremely competitive and hostile environment that existed at his college, and of the desperate struggle to secure his career and thus his financial security. In fact, the constant warring between students to achieve what most people would think is an unrealistic expectation of excellence is a very commonly explored theme in many anime revolving around some form of academy or college. Many of these also tackle the subject of suicide, which is a huge social issue in Japan. The incredible amount of pressure in the job market and in the workplace is a major contributing factor to motivation for suicide, and this is reflected in suicide statistics if you look at the demographics in mortality statistics. For instance, in 2019, 70% of suicides were committed by men. Additionally, for men aged between 20-44, and women aged 15-29, suicide is the leading cause of death. In 2015, a study of suicides by occupation showed that ~28% of *all* suicides were committed by employees, ~26% were unemployed people on pensions including unemployment insurance or worker's compensation, and ~23% were people that were otherwise considered not employed. It is then reasonable to assume that of all reported suicides in Japan, most of them are committed by employed men aged 20-44.
One of Billy's greatest qualities as a voice actor was his ability to do the funniest yells and screams at a moment's notice, but also be incredibly down to earth and move your heart with scenes like 5:03. His voice always made me laugh and made me cry with whatever character he voiced, and often his characters would become my favorite like Josuke and Anai and it was all thanks to his performance. I miss him a lot, and I'll always remember how much life he brought to my favorites.
@RagingRedPanda Oh my, rip🙏. My mom had colon cancer just a year ago and she's doing her final chemotherapy treatments and is all better. I wish Billy had made it like she has, if they had gotten it checked out years earlier, it would've been spotted and better treated. Hearts out to Billy's family and friends and everyone in the Aggretsuko Fanbase ❤️
This was when I first fell in love with him, and it is one of the reasons I love the dub with all my heart. I sobbed for a man I never met and one who didn't know I existed. RIP, Billy. You are missed.
Oddly enough Anai is so relatable to me, especially the driving license scene lmao, sometimes (okay all the time) I don’t read the room and accidentally insult the other person. It felt like it came straight out of my life lol.
One of the absolute best characters and the best character arc of this show as well. I have mixed feelings about Aggretsuko in some areas but Anai is where it really shines. I wish the series spent more time reiterating critique at common workplaces. I love how they played him up initially to come off as completely unlikeable and unapproachable, but the more we see of him and the more interactions he has, the more we understand his position, and I realized I actually went from hating him to relating to him like crazy. That revelation made me wanna cry for some reason. It's so real to feel like an easily agitated man-baby who's just trying to learn how to function in the real-adult world, when maybe all we need is someone patient with the right mind to help and show some kindness. Anai has crazy talent and a good heart and he just needed to be given a chance. Billy's final lines and the way he expressed his grief, the in-character rage kicking back in, except this time it was an incredibly rational rage. It was so heartfelt and beautiful, I can't express enough how much his character and his voice added to this show, if not carried it. Rest in peace Billy. What an inspiration you are. And the writers of Anai's character knew exactly what to do.
Agressuko, as a show, is at it peak when they are in the office this show would had to be focus on the office and follow all the characters around to see how they carry their lifes, it is at it lowest when it becomes a boring romantic story of will they won't they because that's just common
oh man I didn't know he voiced Anai, its sad he didn't voice him in the final season. Maybe that's why he wasn't featured that much in the final season I wish netflix and Aggretsuko anime would make tribute to him in the show.
He’s literally in everything I watch where he’s a voice actor of a character in a Japanese anime I like and character in general. This, Pokémon, and Jojo which is still making me cry
@@RokkTheRock I blanked out and forgot he was Ren, when I saw the card at the end on my watching of that season I stopped for like 30 minutes mourning. That episode itself was sad enough but that just hit me in the gut more
Did he died? That’s so sad. He was a really good VA. I’m so sorry to hear that. He was a massive part of the Dub for this show. I hope he was without pain.
I actually met Billy Kametz at a convention some years ago. He was very sweet and funny. It's tragic to think that someone who seemed so full of life not too long ago has now passed away. I wasn't aware of his condition until he was gone, but I'm sure it was awful to go through, especially in such a short period of time. I'll never forget that kind and eccentric man I met at that convention, and may he rest peacefully. Thank you for making this video, it's wonderful that people are giving him the recognition he deserves.
Oh my god I didn’t know his VA died, I feel bad for learning this so late. He did AMAZING in aggretsuko I’ll have to do some digging to find more of his work. Rest In Peace.
I didn't know he passed away, I really love his work, he knew how to really hit you with an emotional delivery. I think I adored him as Josuke the most, he really fit the role. May he rest in peace.
Billy kametz was so talented...he didnt deserve to get murdered by cancer. I'll miss him... His carreer eas short but memorable...god i wish i could of seen him in more roles...
5:56 that's how we all feel when he left. When i heard the news I was sad. He voiced Anai. The first character i like from him. Anai has been my favorite when new seasons came out. It sucks that he had to leave but we have his characters to remember him
The way I’m barely finding out:( that billy passed. Legit crying. Great voice actor & enjoyed him in every role Anai was one of my favorite characters! I related to him & I loved his cute voice
I found Billy through Three Houses, and then his other works such as Anai in Aggretsuko and Josuke from Jojo Diamond is Unbreakable. He was so cool and kind! Hearing about his passing… something broke inside me that day… 😢😖😭 May his soul rest in peace. He was an amazing human being. Billy Kametz will be missed. 😪🙏
How ironic that the youngest member of the Accounting department ended up with the best character development! 5:55-6:02 😭💔🙏🏻 no better words than these! R.I.P.
i cant believe billy passed away. he was an incredible VA, and although i didn’t know his name until now, i get just how involved he is in the anime dub community. he left a great legacy
I know it's really specific, but I love how his whole demeanor shifts from anxious fury to wholesome joy. It's so endearing and sweet to see him lose himself in cooking😊
He also voiced Haruo Koga in the anime adaptation of Japan Sinks. Anyone who watched that series and knows what happened to him will be hit even harder upon rewatch.
I had no idea Billy passed away. :( At first I thought the voice actor was Doug Smith, like the English voice of Kintaro from Golden Boy. Does anyone else think Anai sounded like him sometimes? Like when he picked up the phone lol?
nice vid, but i have a question are you going to continue with the aggretsuko comic dubs or are you done with them cause personally i really enjoyed them en would like them to return
I initally didn't like Anai, due to how much of a dick he seemed like, but in reality, he's super relatable to a lot of us in a way. Anai was expected so much for a new hire, with him freaking out a lot, Kabae helped him out and taught him what to do in a soft, caring way, Kabae knew how some of the new hires were nervous, so she eased him into the job. The way he's like some of us (including myself), is due to how we are expected so much from a lot of jobs, when we're starting new and trying to get the jist of everything. Seeing Anai upset about Kabae leaving is honestly sad, she eased him in the job, and losing that person upset him a lot
TOMMY was my favorite MARMOT TOMMY-CHAN 0:26 THE WAY HE WAS SMILING SO CUTE WHY IS TOMMY SO DAMN ADORABLE EVEN IF HES ANGRY OR GRUMPY EHIDVJDPPUEVPUVDUPVSUPSVÜUD 3:07 tommy❤
How did he die? I mean he was so great he really put alot if not everything into his work and it inspires you to give it 100 and go beyond. And too hear he just died like I cant believe.
Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He made a post about it and even made his first RU-vid video about finding out he had cancer, but I guess was unaware of how far or big it was because he was so just, hopeful and didn’t seem sad or worried, which I guess is for the best of his audience but you know. It just seemed so unreal when the announcement was made for his passing, because he just. Treated it like it would be something that would just pass on and he would just continue life like normal for him. It’s just sad to hear someone young with a good career, especially one that isn’t shrouded in politics or horrible acts like some VAs get outed for Just go. It’ll be a year in a few months but damn.
Do you know if I post a video of Aggretsuko, if Netflix will hunt me down for it? I want to post a video, but I'm worried I'll receive a copyright claim. How did you avoid a copyright claim?
Just don't have clips go over any longer than I say 2 minutes? It's a tricky process but it's a way to get around in them blocking your video worldwide
