Thank you ever so much for watching our video(s) for legal reasons i can not tell you what to do or what not to do but i can tell you what it says in the haynes manual. It does say to use sealant sparingly, we had a conversation about what sparingly meant / how much sparingly is. So we came to the conclusion that it is best left without any sealant as there was none on it when we split the crank case and with it being a machined face and with the bearings being half bearings. It does bare the question, if you were to put sealant between the 2 crank halves will it make a gap between the half bearings? It may only be very miniscule. But when your engine is doing thousands of rpms it does get you wondering what damage you may be doing to your engine. Where as if you don't put any sealant on at all anywhere you know that the faces will mate equally. We have had our engine running four half an hour (just at idle) *SPOILER* and we have got no leaks. As I said I am not telling you what to do or not to do. Anyway thank you ever so much for watching, i hope you enjoy the episodes 🤙
