Oh my gosh, I have a recipe for a buttermilk syrup that would go so well with this French toast. You can add coconut extract to it that makes it even more to die for. I’m going to have to make them together this weekend. Never thought to do French toast in the air fryer and now I’m so happy. We discovered that garlic bread in the air fryer is the only way to go as well, so this totally makes sense. Thanks for such a fun new air fryer recipe! Keep them coming!
Buttermilk Syrup serving size: 2 Tbsp. servings: 22 ½ cup butter 1 ½ cups granulated sugar 1 tsp. light corn syrup ¾ cup buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. vanilla or coconut extract 1. Mix together the butter, sugar, corn syrup, and buttermilk in a saucepan (bigger is better because it will bubble up a lot at the end) and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. 2. While the mixture is boiling, add the baking soda and vanilla extract. When adding the baking soda, mixture will bubble and rise quickly. 3. Pour hot syrup over pancakes, waffles, or french toast.

Best French toast I ever had to date was something called freezer French toast. It’s prepared the night before, frozen and baked the day after using day old, sliced Italian loaf bread. The result was crispy on the outside and absolutely delicious.
I fought the air fryer trends tooth and nail. I bought one and sheepishly admit it’s so handy!!!! I just finished eating Crackling Chicken. I can’t wait to try French toast!

Whenever they say freeze with parchment in between, I always freeze flat on a silicone padded cookie sheet and THEN put in a freezer bag with parchment in between. 💖🌞🌵😷

It’s strange how in 2 different countries one recipe can be so vastly different. This seems like such a sweet recipe ( higher ratio of milk , cinnamon , icing sugar and maple syrup) Were as here in Ireland it is very much a savoury dish .We use just a dash of milk ,black pepper and salt to taste and is delicious with bread from a batch loaf 😋.
I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest side we have a breakfast dish that's a savoury sourdough French toast sheared with cream cheese, tomato slices and salmon and a spritz of lemon juice 🤤🤤🤤

Thank you for your recipe! Funny my dad you use the flavors that you talked about but he’d ad a pinch of salt and garlic powder!! He’d make them nice and crispy and add the butter and real maple syrup. Believe it or not they were awesome!!!
You can just brush oil instead of wasteful oil spray. Oil brush the food, Oil brush the fryer pan.. I always do this on my tofu & chicken on air fryer. You'll have more control of the amount of oil to use. A plate full food can use less than 1 tablespoon of oil.

I am a NO GADGET or extra kitchen appliances kind of cook. But, I WON a very nice, large air fryer on another cooking channel. My husband and I now use it for almost every meal! We are empty nesters, so it will cook the right amount of meat for the two of us, and have some leftovers. We also end up with leftover bread that has gone stale, so this is a perfect breakfast for dinner meal for us. I'll be using this recipe this weekend!!
