@@TheFowlerAirgunChannel Anytime, just want you to see what this rifle potentials are. I paid $3,500 for a fx impact and scope and ammo. I hated you had to do so many mods and fixing shit just to get it like it was supposed to be from the factory. Never again, I'll buy two more Avengers if this one breaks. The best bang for your bucks right now!

@@BIGGB742002 yes,,, i was getting ready to go FX until RU-vid saved me lots of money,,, love my .22 cal Reign but my .25 Avenger is able to shoot with any gun,,,, not pretty but i am mostly a hunter so it suits me and money to burn on ammo,,, also,, shoots most ammo but likes the heavier pellets best

If you turn the reg up to 2600 no reg creep and tune the diabolo style pellets to shoot 830 to 870 for each pellet weight, you can cull out the pellets your Avenger dont like. Start at 30yds and move to 50yd with the most accurate pellets at 30yd. then move to 100yd.The way your testing will never get you anywhere..Hope this helps

Without question...this Avenger and the Nova Vista Liberty have to be the best bang for the buck out at the moment. I always wanted a Liberty in .25 but they are not available in the USA and ATI was the only dealer for the Liberty’s and Freedom. Tyler Patner is spot on for the pairing on Nova Vista and Air Venturi. This Avenger is a second generation Liberty. The Liberty has an adjustable reg also but you have to take the gun out of the stock to add or remove hammer spring washers to adjust the hammer strike. Still worth it. I have my .25 Avengers reg set at 2200 and the hammer spring is maxed at the moment for the H&N Barracuda Hunter 27.47 pellets @ 904 FPS. Super accurate and a great hunting gun. The .25 I think is a better groundhog getter than my .22 pellets at distances greater than 60 yards.

If you replace the valve spring with one of the springs included in assorted compression spring pack from Home Depot. You want even get close to maxing out your hammer spring. The best $4.00 spent so far!

@@BIGGB742002 Awesome! I've been trying to get me a hammer spring to calculate the k value, so as soon as HomeDepot opens, I,m getting me the assorted compression spring pack. Do you know which spring is closest to the hammer spring of the Avenger? I'll do the calculations for all. Lastly, are their different assorted compression spring packs? I'd hate to pick up the wrong one. The spring you mention is to replace the valve spring, correct? and not the hammer spring, right? Thanks.

Mr. Halfhill, how many shots did you get with your maxed out hammer spring, 2200 psi regulator, 27.47 grain pellet at 904 fps? And what was your initial tank pressure? Was it the 4351 psi, or less? Lastly, how much turn did the regulator take to get to the 2200 psi? Thanks.
@BIGGB742002
@BIGGB742002 3 года назад
@@icuppu2 Yes it's for the valve spring. It's only two inside that will fit , which are the smallest in the pack. The valve spring is as stiff as the hammer spring. So with a lighter valve spring you don't need much hammer spring tension. I shimmied my hammer spring with a washer. So I don't have to turn much for adjustments.
@heathhalfhill6867
@heathhalfhill6867 3 года назад
@@icuppu2 I only fill to 3800-4000 same with the Liberty. I get 5-6 mags🤷‍♂️ never really paid attention to shot count only accuracy and preferred speed. As far as to reg…I just adjusted it till I reached the pressure I wanted on the gauge. I set mine exactly the same as Tyler Pattner set his in his video. Shoots perfectly with a bunch of different pellets at this setting.

Looking better still.Got a couple of pretty decent groups this time and plenty of shots while on regulator.You havent lost any performance really after backing off the reg and hammer spring.I would consetrate on the ammo that gave you the better groups ,maybe get some JSBs to try and consentrate on shooting technic while watching the wind that has a huge effect,maybe put some fluorescent tape on a stick down range.Still with a nine power scope you did pretty good with some of the ammo and you are not using a rear rest which makes it harder to shoot small groups.Try this some time just for giggles,make some very small targets with a black magic marker on white cardboard and use them instead of trying to concetrate on parts of the big targets you are using now.It is absolutely true that the smaller the target you use the smaller your groups will be. At 50 yards my targets are .25 of an inch,i use a washer and a magic marker to make em but i use a 24x scope and i can shoot better than when using bigger targets.

I no longer sport the Air Venturi Avenger. However. I how you set your adjustments depends on your application. Do you shoot heavy projectiles or lighter at shorter distance? Many factors in setting you reg and such. 💪

Slugs need some type of lubricant. I use whisk comb honey and silicone for my hill pump. Lighten up the trigger the center one till the screw is flush with the trigger blade, then take out the travel. That helped me with accuracy as well.

Got mine in .25 two weeks ago. Not sure how many rounds I’ve put through it, but it’s well over 2-300 rnds. This is an extremely accurate gun. It loves H&N Crow Magnums. 1/2” group at, not quite 50 yrds. It’ll do some work with the FX Hybrids as well. And this is out of the box. I haven’t messed with the regulator, hammer spring, or trigger. From the factory. I’d love to see this in .30.
@kyleklukken4089

The one thing bad about .30 is if you are in Tennessee you can't use it to hunt so most companies are not likely to produce it.
@TheFowlerAirgunChannel

You can use .30 to small and medium game hunt in Tennessee just not big game from my understanding
@visamedic
@visamedic 3 года назад
@@kyleklukken4089 Yeah. No different here in California. We can take up to a hog. I see these as an actual, viable means to get large game in a survival situation. I’ve seen guys take hogs down with a .177. Saw a video a few weeks ago of someone taking down a bull elk with a .25 if not .30. As far as I’m concerned I’ll use for whatever I have to. For now I’ve got my powder burners and they’ll do just fine.

@@TheFowlerAirgunChannel Tennessee currently does not allow .30 caliber airguns for any regulated species. Including rabbits, squirrels, etc.
@visamedic
@visamedic 3 года назад
@@TheFowlerAirgunChannel A lot of states are allowing big game, but the standard seems to be with a rifle that’ll deliver 230-250 lbs (or is it in the 3’s) of energy. Your looking pretty much .45 cal and bigger. Ca allows us small game up to hog size. I could never understand why a hog and not a deer given the tougher hide of the hog.

So far what's the best slugs you have used put the .25 avenger. I'm going to order some avs .254 based of your opinions. Both dish and cup based. Also the nsa 38.5 worked great but I get this weird drift to the right no matter what direction the wind is blowing. (Maybe canted rail)
@TheFowlerAirgunChannel
@TheFowlerAirgunChannel 3 года назад
If your POI shifts when you use a different ammo that is to be expected. If it's just inaccurate thats one thing but if it steadily pulls each shot further and further one of another direction I would look into the rifle it's self being the culprit. As far as my tune. Well.. It requires some machining and a decent bit of mechanical knowledge but if you're capable it's not a terrible job but this is no easy part swap. Not for the novice. I found the AVS dish base .250 slugs and Griffin Airgun ammo makes an LDC dish base HP slug in .250 that was very accurate as well. Thanks for watching. Best regards. F.A.

What does having too much hammer spring or too little hammer spring do? Sorry for the naive question. Thanks
@TheFowlerAirgunChannel

Too much and the hammer strikes the valve too hard releasing excessive amounts of air. Too litte and either under powered or no valve release at all.
