NavaTheBeast and Kyle Gott teamed up for a Marine VS Air Force Q&A where we compared the differences between the Marines and Air Force. Nava is a Marine in the US Marine Corps and Kyle Gott is an Airman in the US Air Force. We did this military Q&A to help show some of the differences between the Marines and the Air Force and since Nava is a fellow military youtuber this worked out perfect that we are both stationed in Okinawa, Japan. We hope you guys enjoy this military Q&A comparing the Marine Corp and the USAF. Thanks for watching guys! Like, Comment, and Subscribe.

I love this. My Grandson is making a decision to join one of these branches. I'm forwarding this to him. Dude...I'm a 20 year retired Air Force veteran. I have work around Cherry Point Marines when they flew in during an exercise mission. The had to come over to our tool crib and scrounge parts from us to fix their planes, because of poor funding. Air Force is where the money is. My Air Force drill instructor was an Ex-Marine. He told us, 'When I was in Vietnam in a muddy foxhole and saw the Zoomies living in air conditioned barrack, I said to my self. What the heck am I doing?' Nuff said.

I find it hilarious that people who have never served bash on other branches (specifically Marine wannabes who act all tough but wouldn't survive a day at boot camp), an try to tear down the Air Force all together. While these two men, an Airman and a Marine, are two great friends that know what it truly means to have a brotherhood stronger than blood. They're brothers. I will soon have that once I leave Fort Lackland AFB. Call me whatever the fuck you want, but I take pride in joining the Air Force, especially knowing I will be training to become a PJ. Never served? Shut the fuck up. Don't plan on ever serving? Shut the fuck up. Respect all branches. Without one, we have none.
@lahaus2057
@lahaus2057 8 лет назад
It's also really shitty how Marines get treated. They're treated like children, honestly. They need buddies to leave, they have to be stuck with roommates, all this bullshit. Airmen get treated like the responsible adults we all should be treated like. Notice how when you go to MEPS, you NEVER see Air Force recruiters there. My recruiter told me the reason why, he said "Because we trust you all to be responsible for your own actions. And not to be treated like you're still under your parents roofs." I wish the Marines got the Air Force treatment.

***** exactly! im not saying no one should join the marines but its not for everyone. My cousin joined the marines in 2013 and after basic training he already wanted to come home because he keeps complaining about how hard and physically challenging it is. I believe the Airforce is the best choice for me. I have my last year in ROTC and i believe the Airforce is the right choice for me and could of been a great career for my cousin because he loves Air-crafts and wanted to become a pilot but sadly he didnt research about the different careers and ops in the military and how it could affect his life

+B.C.H.SBanger The Marines do what the whole point of the military is. To physically defend this nation that people are currently attempting infiltrate and attack our people on the streets. When most Airmen get out. Will they be able to believe they made a difference defending this nation against foreign and or domestic enemies. I don't believe so. Painting airplanes and welding sheet metal is really bad ass.

To be fair the quality of life hes referring to is unique to Japan which is arguably the worst in the Marine Corps as far as freedom goes. For the most part, stateside as a fleet Marine is a lot better, there are no restrictions for the most part, as long as you're at your appointed place of duty, you're free to do what you want during your time off. Staff NCOs and Officers do not live in the barracks in the states. At least thats how it is in Miramar. Went UDP to Okinawa and it was not at all the same.

Retired Navy Hospital Corpsman and prior service Air Force Medic and while in the Navy did two tours with Marines Infantry, Artillery and Aviation units (Navy provides Medical, Dental and Religious personal for the Marines and after special training we wore their uniforms with Navy stripes, but not their Dress Blues. Standards have changed since I retired in 1988). Enjoyed my entire time in and proud to say that I wore the uniforms of all three services.

Yeeeeah the difference in the quality of life is hardcore. And it could depend on where you deploy, but Blake's had to qualify for shooting every time before he deploys, as a part of his deployment checklist, and he's in maintenance. So that might be something you'll end up having to do prior to your deployment Kyle. But it could definitely vary, so take this with a grain of salt!

I am going to delete that one post because i don't want to offend the great men and women of ALL our armed forces. I was just targeting the ones constantly bashing the AF. However, if you fail out, you may just go to the needs of the Navy. That is literally for every single branch. Now, you will have a better opportunity to land a career PATH that you desire in the navy. In the Air Force you will be aiming for a career Field. A type of career path.

All he is doing is trying to get Nava to disrespect the Marine Corps... I really respect Nava for staying professional and never once taking shots at any other branch. The Air Force guy on the other hand is constantly, secretly bashing the Marine Corps. That's a great representation of Airmen and Nava is the perfect representation of professionals and respectable Marine.

I think y'all should do some videos were y'all both try to tackle, more advanced training PFT like for Navy seals, Delta force. Just something crazy, like go for it. It would be interesting and I would definitely watch it and I'm sure others would too.

It just shows marines put their life for the person next to them that's why they are so close I'd rather be having a room buddy then barely knowing people in the Air Force & stick in my room That's why they are elite

@kylegott, I binge watched a bunch of your videos last night 6/14 and I had wanted to join the Marine corps since I was ten. I knew exactly what I was getting myself into with joining the Marines. While watching last night, I definitely saw the major differences. And because of watching your videos I have made the change to join the Air Force. Sounds super bad on my part because I made TONS of jokes about the "chair force" and much more, yet I still am hyped to join. You may not think it, but you inspired me to want to join. Your videos on the tattoo policy, BMT, ect, and it made me seriously change my thought process.

I think it's funny how Kyle is all proud of how the Air Force is so chill and laid back but yet all Kyle can do is 40 push ups before he gives up and I'm sure others that are in the Air Force can't do much better than Kyle. It all comes down to if we went to war who would save us. Marines or Air Force. It's sad that each branch has to out do each other when you guys all work for the same government.

In terms of lifestyle, the army is similar to the marines. I lived in the barracks my entire career. As an NCO, I had my own room, but not until then. As Finance soldiers (basically Payroll), we went to the rifle range once a year, gas chamber, PT 3X a week, and sometimes a road march and/or the field. In the army, you're a soldier first, your MOS second. I loved it!

I'm very indecisive on which branch I want to join. Joining the Air Force for me means building a career. The Air Force has jobs that I want but then I think about joining the Marine Corp because I believe it will shape me into a strong woman and discipline me. I just can't seem to make up my mind. I want to get into Infantry and the closest the Air Force has to that would be I believe TACP, Combat Controller, and pararescue?

Lily Demara I feel exactly the same way. I'm in your shoes.
@JesusChrist-tw2sv
@JesusChrist-tw2sv 7 лет назад
Lily Demara it really boils down to what kind of job you're interested in. For starters while jobs like TACP, Combat Control and Pararescue would technically be the closest things the Air Force has to infantry it is still nothing alike and furthermore MUCH more difficult to qualify for than standard infantry. Also keep in mind that while all combat jobs are now open to women VERY FEW have managed to complete the Marine Corps School of Infantry and NONE have completed the training for any of those Air Force spec ops jobs. Think about that before you dedicate yourself to go for a job like that. If you are hoping to become a more structured and disciplined person the Marine Corps is definitely the choice and there's no reason you can't make a career our of it, it all depends on your mindset and dedication.

Hey Kyle would you do a Q&A with a Special Missions Aviator? I've been really interested in the job and would like hearing tips from a person who's currently doing that job.
@jrebsterful
@jrebsterful 8 лет назад
Special Mission Aviator afsc:1A9X1 are crew members on HH60s, AC130s etc. Basically, they're spec ops flyers. They're loadmaster, flight engineer, and door gunner combined. So all aircrew go through tech training at lack land, last time I checked they're washout rate was over 75 percent, as if getting a flying afsc was hard enough lol. They're pretty undermanned so I'd say you'd have a decent shot a getting it, although getting a 1A job is diffivult enough (less than 2%) Good luck!! -C130 loadmaster
