@@wyshtechairsoft thanks! another that is less important is sometimes the selector plate in some guns rub against the spur bearing and gear axle too, it won’t hurt but it does slow it does change the sound a bit.
@ArchieKeen1 I found that bearings that are 3mm thick cause this issue and more on the bottom side of the sector gear and spur. So I use 2.5mm J caged ezo's or slim solid bushings for the clearance. If the axle sticks out after shimming is complete. Ill sand down the axle with my belt sander. The fine details of teching airsoft! Its fun.
It depends on the brand, much like solid bushings. Genuine EZO bearings are the most concentric and durable bearings on the market. Which I find them to always make gears run smoother and reduce amperage pull from the battery.
May I ask where you source your bearings? That or a McMaster Carr product number would be helpful if you have one. I couldn’t find it included on the airsoft society forum master list. My apologies if you have a video on this already.
