So this is where my class 4 came from I’ve talked to heather and one of the Mechanics before I had a question about a screw and they were very nice and extremely helpful i from now on will buy all of my equipment from them I love my cobra
I should get my Cobra class 26 next week. I’m very excited especially after watching this video. I have been sewing since my Grandma taught me when I was a young girl but this machine will open up so many possibilities! I can relate to Heather as I am also a business manager and I also handle all of the IT. Sewing is my stress relief. I love the “Pay it forward!” That is the only way to live. 😊
Just picked up my Class 26. I bought that to compliment my Class 4. Raymond and Heather and Dave and Steve and Vince , all of them were incredible. Thanks Al for the Video. I love all the folks at Leather Machine Co.
Just met Dave and heather and puchased my class 26 yesterday! Super cool guy and Heather was awesome to get me all set up! You can feel how they really prioritize customer service. Thanks for the video! So glad I found you channel today! :)
I'm just a nobody. I was doing my research. figuring out what i though i needed. made a phone call. Dave said give him a days notice before coming up to look at a machine or two and they would have one ready to demo. I showed up. I got the same tour. Vince tried to sell me a skiver he was setting up. I got to test the skiver and a class 4 along with a 26. I settled on the class 4. I got a hands on lesson on why a home machine just can't sew veg tan. I learned more about sewing leather in the few hours i was there then i did in the last few years if tinkering. the hardest part was lugging the head of the machine up my short steps. these guys are great and highly recommended.
I bought a 26 and a burnisher from them and they are nothing but the VERY VERY best in answering your questions and with their amazing customer service I can not recommend them more buy everything that you need from Leather Machine Company
I have a couple of observations about my new class 4. #1 The angle of the foot feed for the motor is not where I would have put it. It sets too far forward (close to the operator) and is uncomfortable when sitting up close to the head. I guess if you operate it while standing it might be different. #2, The motor engages a little too quickly regardless of the preset motor RPM. My other servo motors have a little slack before starting and will engage the needle more gradually. These are just my observations and may just be quirks of the product or maybe just me. Other than that the machine has tons of power and it comes with a size #25 needle installed. The bobbin thread that is shipped with the machine is larger than the needle thread. That produces a nice bottom stitch. Since I'm not sewing with size 346 thread, the bobbin thread seems to just about disappear between stitches because of my lighter weight thread in that #25 needle hole. Also, this is with the upper tension backed all the way off. Am ordering smaller needles #23 to reduce needle hole size to see if that produces a more visible bobbin stitch. And, Yes, it is threaded properly....!
there are adjusments that can be made to the foot pedal to adjust the angle. there are also adjustments to the servo that can be made to make the start up less touchy. Post your concerns over on the Cobra group on FB. Al Bane and others will personally answer any questions you may have. facebook.com/groups/101589880193668
