As someone who grew up on shows like Married With Children, Jackass, Beavis and Butthead and Daria.... you can imagine what I think and feel about our current world xD A show like this wouldn't even make the pilot in this days. Also, Al Bundy was awesome
Even back then Al was set up to be a bit of a looser as a character which is why he/the show got away with jokes like these. These jokes were controversial even for their time! But even with that premise exaggerated even further this show would've had no chance today. Al Bundy was indeed an underdog hero.
I grew up watching Married With Children. It was quality entertainment. This show helped form my "support your family, take no crap, and never give up" mindset.
Ed O'Neill, just as a piece of fun trivia, played football for Youngstown State, then spent the 1969 NFL season on the Steelers' practice squad. He also earned a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2006 or so after studying with one of the Gracies.
I don't know how many times I've seen this clip, it still cracks me up every time. I never watched MWC when it first aired because I was living overseas. I have seen bits and pieces of the show since then.
Problem is no matter how hard they tried they couldnt cancel it bc the writers of the jokes were the ones the jokes were about. Kinda hard to cancel when the “victims” are the ones coming up w the jokes.
I'm told that the large ladies in these clips were comedians and wrote all those fat jokes. Somehow makes it twice as funny. And young man, you have one jolly laugh. I love it!
