this is awesome music back in the 70's i was 15 ,16 waw you did not need drugs to get high the music will do and if you didn't fell in love you'll never will this kind of music is immortal they don't make them like this anymore what a pity thanks to RU-vid
My favorite version of this great song. You can't beat the great BST horns plus Jimmy Vivinos outstanding guitar playing. The best I've ever heard from Al.
My wife said this album was really important to her growing up as a teen. She still has the album, Child is father to the man. She also loved I can't quit her. Great stuff.she obtained this l.p. at about 14.
Saw BST with Al Kooper do the whole first album "Child is Father to the man." I met Al and we talk about this album. I went to Berklee School of Music in Boston ( Drummer) and was a manager for ASCAP. Great Days, Great music, and great women back in the day. Some times "Old-School" is the best school. Can you dig it? I knew that you could-------
Every version I have ever heard of this song has been outstanding, pure class, heartwrenching. There must be something about Al Kooper's brilliant songwriting here that inspires people into giving the performance of their lives.
Those were great days, my friend. We were on the magic carpet and these guys were the captain, co-captain, navigator, and the rest of the flight crew. We flew to amazing places. I still have the post cards!
