Saw BST with Al Kooper do the whole first album "Child is Father to the man." I met Al and we talk about this album. I went to Berklee School of Music in Boston ( Drummer) and was a manager for ASCAP. Great Days, Great music, and great women back in the day. Some times "Old-School" is the best school. Every version I have ever heard of this song has been outstanding, pure class, heartwrenching. There must be something about Al Kooper's brilliant songwriting here that inspires people into giving the performance of their lives.
Those were great days, my friend. We were on the magic carpet and these guys were the captain, co-captain, navigator, and the rest of the flight crew. We flew to amazing places. I still have the post cards!
