I am honest to god balling. From using the best Aladdin and Genie. To Genie naming past actors who played main roles. To just the last minutes of the performance... I'm sobbing. I got to see it on Friday night and even then I was feeling emotional but watching this last performance completely murdered me. I've had my annual pass almost as long as the shows been running and to see Aladdin ending to me also feels like ending a really great part of my childhood/teenage years where I would run and get orchestra seats to see this performance. I will always love this show :') I'll give Frozen a chance but I will always love the Aladdin show.
+tacokotaco well your not gonna like this but a friend of mine told me that one time when he and his girlfriend went to some restaurant they had this waiter who was serving them and turns out to be one of the Aladdin actors of the show. he said how ever since they ended it they are kinda out of the job so its really depressing to hear that one of the Aladdin actors who have entertained so many people for over 10 years is now some waiter at a restaurant and not even a Disney one
abel i.... i have no words to express my feelings right now, so disney just threw an entire cast made out of wonderfully talented people out after they over stayed their welcome and didn't even make sure if the actors were able to get a new job that shows their talents. its unbearable to think how they must feel
No I did NOT already begin to cry/bawl within the first 10 seconds...no I didn't....NOPE. I'm so glad I got to see this just about three years ago....end of an era!
I lost it when Genie said "One more time!" in Never Had a Friend Like Me. Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm going to miss this show so much
I think it's criminal that they didn't schedule more performances on this final day. Instead, they only had the regularly scheduled 4 performances. Fast Passes for all 4 performances were gone by 11:00 that morning. I have a schedule from the first summer after this show opened and there were 10 performances a day. So many people who came by to say goodbye couldn't even get in. I asked a cast member why there weren't any additional shows (as there was obviously a huge demand, and Disney knew it was coming) and all he could say was "It's officially the off-season". it was a bittersweet day indeed.
+crazee4mm that isn't fair! when a show is closing they should add extra shows on the final day! if its a Broadway show then it would depend on the shows length and if they can have extra cast members. but a shorter show, especially a kids show should have extra shows
Ik im two years late but just in general, on Broadway, even two show days are very taxing/demanding on the actors. To do 10 performances of this a day every day would be the equivalent of doing 5 broadway shows a day. Also, for timing purposes, you would be asking the cast and crew to be working almost 24 hours straight...
Saw it 36 times starting on January 1, 2003. Generally from the front row in the 3 seats stage right. I just saw Aladdin on Broadway and was disappointed. It was good but it did not make me cry. The ensemble at Disneyland made the show. There were no small parts in this group. What a blessing. I will always treasure my moments here.
I was crying throughout this entire video, and I'm still crying. I was a kid when this first came to California Adventure and fell in love with it. The carpet part where they're flying was always so magical to me and still is. Every year after that I would go to Disneyland with my family and we would always see this when we'd go. Sometimes even 3 times during our 5 day trips. Now, as a 20-year-old, I appreciate all the amazing memories this show has given me throughout my life. It will be missed by probably everyone, especially my family. Thank you for uploading this, since I couldn't see it myself in person, that was incredible.
I watched this show only twice, once the year it started at California Adventure, and last year in November. I remember the show from the first time and the second time was just as great. I'm so sad that they're replacing it with Frozen, because my little sister will never get to see it, but I'll just show her this video :)
"You hear that? Those are my THOUGHTS." Lol! And the Genie's extended riff was fantastic. You had a great seat to capture this wonderful, final performance. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing! I was at the 4:45 show, and there was a marriage proposal right before the show. Just amazing. I am so grateful to have attended the last performance day. It was a sob-fest, but will always be a treasured memory.
Thank you so much for posting...I know this means so much to all the die hard Disney fans out there (like myself) and fans of the show! I am sad that I didn't get to see this epic finale in person but from watching this I'm sure my fellow Disney fans can relate that you can feel all the emotions from watching this truly amazing performance. Its going to take me a long time to get over the fact that the show is finally over I don't think that any other rendition of such a show could ever replace the spectacular Aladdin show :) Thanks so much to all the performers of the show for bringing joy to so many people through your unforgettable performances it has truly been an honor to have been able to see the show for so long and it will be missed :)
thank you guys @thingamavlogs for filming the whole show, that was awesome. i"m not a Disneyland visitor, more likely a Disney World visit. Thanks again for filming this and then putting it on RU-vid. Hope you guys enjoyed seeing it live for one last time.
This is the most magical show I've ever seen when I went to Disney Anaheim.. It was my first time in LA and went to DCA, I knew I had to watch it before it ends..
My tears were everywhere when I was watching this! This show was a huge part of my childhood and I cannot express how sad I am to see it go!!! Thank you Thingamavlogs for recording this for the people who couldn't be there.
+WOWmaniac665 since frozen already has the sing a long just across the way. its just too much. they are putting in too many things that are realistically focused to girls when aladdin did an amazing job at being gender neutral. I'm heat broken.
+Ronnie The sing along is leaving, how hard is it for people to understand this? And how is Frozen focused towards girls? You could say that Aladdin is focused towards boys...so its really a moot point. Anyway, the Frozen show is going to be so much better than Aladdin. Quite a bit has changed since the show began over a decade ago...Change is welcome. Walt Disney himself would have agreed wholeheartedly with this decision, as he said that Disneyland would only continue to grow.
Frozen has two main female leads Anna and Elsa. Aladdin has a strong male lead for the little boys in the audience as well as a female lead for the little girls in the audience. I do not doubt that Walt wouldn't have mind this change at all but I just feel as if the whole Frozen thing has been real pushy in the parks since it has been released by taking away The muppets and for a brief while the Mad T Party, now aladdin. I guess I just don't like how Frozen is getting all the spotlight no pun intended but i think the are many other titles that could be put in place of Frozen for the Hyperion Theatre.
+Ronnie Yeah, I'm sad to see Aladdin leave but I think a lot of us wouldn't be so angry if it weren't being replaced by Frozen. Disney seems determined to milk that movie for all it's worth instead of moving on to new things. How long did the Big Hero 6 meet and greet last before they nixed it? I can think of so many fun shows they could do at Hyperion instead of Frozen. Hercules, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, Atlantis, Robin Hood, Peter Pan, Alice, Princess and the Frog and Tangled all immediately come to mind.
alright... I've never seen this before, nor I knew about the existence of the show because I live in Italy, but just seeing this, it's amazing and it made me cry, I really felt the energy and the heart of the performers throughout the show. I just got to be in a musical in my city and we made only 2 performances, and by the end of the second one I was feeling so sad, I already missed the people I worked with. But man... 14565 are reeeeally a lot of shows :,) I just wish I had seen this Musical live before it ended :)
As someone who has cherished this show and all the magic it brought to DCA, I am so grateful that you were able to capture the final performance. I was so distraught last night, thinking I may never get one final show! Thanks Thingamavlogs crew for your dedication to the Disney Family!
As I'm seeing posts about friends who made it in to the FROZEN premiere, and though I know it will and is a new spectacular, I am drawn back to your wonderful gift to us all, the final ALADDIN, A MUSICAL SPECTACULAR. What a wonderful show, a spectacular finale, and a cherished memory for us all. Thank you. I believe that Disney really does change and grow, and as much as we loved ALADDIN, live shows move on to our memories. Thank you for capturing this moment in time. You are appreciated, letting us share in these wonderful performers one last time.
thank you so much for recording and posting this i'm crying right now I can't imagine what it must have been like in that room, the energy was incredible. with that kind of goodbye, idk how people are gonna welcome frozen
This show never ever gets old. It will be truly missed and cherished even more. Thanks to all the performers throughout the years for their amazing ability to make every show seem like it was the very first. Thank you.
IM NOT CRYING WHAT? I'm so glad I got to see the show in December I remember being a little kid and how happy the show made me I'm so sad to see it leave thank you so much for recording the final show
Thanks soooo much for posting this literally made my year since I wasn't able to go to this last show. So sad it's gone but feel so blessed to have been able too have seen it before it ended.
I'm so glad that you guys did this. I had always wanted to see the performance but never had the chance. I started to tear up some because I could tell the love that the cast had for that show.
I've had the pleasure of seeing this show numerous times. It's hard to say goodbye to such a magical group of people who put on an amazing show. Thank you to everybody, and thank you for capturing the final curtain call.
Got to see it live one last time Wednesday when I was in DCA. Incredible show and an incredible cast. Couldn't tell you how many times I've seen it over the past 13 years. It will truly be missed. Thanks for capturing the final show.
I loved this! I've never been to Disneyland, but I always hear such good things about this show. It was so good! I definitely would have loved to see it live. What was Genie referencing at 43:47-46:14? Was it like all the cast and crew?
Thank you for this! It's a wish come true for those of us who couldn't be there. Aladdin was one of the first attractions I saw at DCA and it will always hold a place in my heart. It's such a magical and dazzling show.
I've only seen this show once because I've only been to DCA once and wanted to see everything, but I am so sad to see it go. I'm so glad this video exists so we can always remember what a magical show this was.
Not gonna cry...not gonna cry *turns around and cries* we will miss you Aladdin the musical, thank you for the laughs and smiles you brought to everyone
We were at the parks on the last day, but we couldn't see the show due to the fact that all the fastpasses ran out D: I'm going to miss this show, thank you for posting it!
Man, I wish I had seen this live. The magic of a live show is like nothing else. I mean, I still kind of got it here but man... I got tears in my eyes at the end.
this broke my heart i was working while the show was on and it killed me that i didnt get to go. of course i can always count on you guys to make up for that! thank you so much for recording the entire show i truly appreciate it. i grew up with this show and its so sad to see it gone now....
I'm honestly hoping that maybe frozen will be underwhelming to the point that Aladdin has to come back. Like with Freeze the Night changing back to Mad T Party
My heart is definitely broken. It upsets me that they got rid of it for another Frozen show. Yes, the movie is wonderful and I am sure the entire cast and crew of the new production at the Hyperion will be amazing, but their guests come for more than just Frozen and Disney should accommodate for that. Some of my favorite Disney movies aren't even represented in the parks because they try to fill it up with current stuff, like how Star Wars is literally everywhere now. Sometimes sticking with the classics works. Or even just integrating the newer movies with the old. Having a good balance around the park. Just my opinion
I couldn't have said it any other way. Thank you for saying this. It truly makes me sad that they are taking away the classic things and replacing it with newer things. I get it, they have to please the majority, but the Aladdin show is was what I grew up watching and I was hoping that future generations would be able to watch it too. 😢
Thank you for this I was un able to see it one last time but me being a pass holder for a long time now this was always my favorite thing about dca so sad it's no longer with us thank you to the cast and crew who brought this show to life ❤️❤️❤️ it's definitely a favorite of many people :)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, I never would've been able to see it otherwise. I've never even been to the West Coast! I'm so grateful I get to experience it vicariously
So happy you posted this! Sadly I couldn't watch it one more time and I was so sad because this was one of my favorite things to do at Disneyland. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for filming this! I'm going next week, and I was so upset that I was going to be missing it! This was hands down my favorite show in all of Disneyland, and I'm so sad to see it go. I hope the Frozen show makes up for it with a LOT of Kristoff/Sven comedic banter. 😆
Thank you so much for this. I wasn't able to get a fast pass this weekend and missed out on this opportunity. You made my day. I usually sit in the exact same spot in the front row. This brings tears to my eyes. Thank you again!
thank you so much for posting this!!! I was so saddened that I wasn't able to go to the last show. I'm going to miss the Aladdin performances so much. :(
Aww! Thank you so much for recording this! :D I was there in the mezzanine for this final performance, and it was such a magical show. No one wanted to leave once the screen came down on the actors! Haha. It was also so great enjoying this and screaming along with the audience. Fun times. ^_^ I saw Tiff and Patrick down there in the front row so I hoped that one of you was recording it. XD (Also, hi. I'm the churro girl who freaked out. Greetings.)
