Proud of my fellow Canadians 🇨🇦🇨🇦 for treating Dave so well and representing us. It's not chance Dave, we really like to look after people and make people feel comfortable. 😎🤗🙏🏼❤❤❤ 🤞🏻🤞🏻
hey I was in alaska near eagle river and saw a 74 or so torino with about 8 people in it who all got killed when they hit a moose. A bloody mess. But for the grace of God.....
OMG thank god for laminated windscreens ! Glad you and Daisy are ok. What a great outfit the windscreen/ garage guys are who sorted you out, big respect to them.
More people need your attitude. I can use to work on mine. Thank the Canadians again for coming through when it was needed. Dang good neighbors to have.
Wow! This past Saturday evening, I was heading north on an interstate in Michigan, and seemingly out if no where, a young buck ran right in front of my little economy car, he was so close i could not see all his hooves! I tapped my brakes and he barely cleared the front of my car! I prayed before I left on my little trip, so that was a miracle! I am so sorry you suffered through all of that! You were blessed for sure. Be safe, and if you can, read the 'soldiers prayer' daily, it really works! (Psalm 91🤗) God bless and protect you and Daisy!
Enjoyed the video Dave. Happy your ok after the deer mishap! Canadians for the most part are very hospitable and genuine.. especially the country folks! I may be a little bias since I'm one of those people. Looking forward to your videos from Alaska as usual. Cheers 🇨🇦
It is awesome that you praise the Lord even in the face of adversity. That is as it should be. Windshields and mirrors are replaceable but Dave W and Daisy are not. Praise God that you two are okay.
@@Bushradical Summer is going just fine. Have not got out for any major backwoods trips yet this summer as it has just not worked out but all in all it is a great summer. It looks like I will be a co-instructor at a "survival" course free to the public at a church in the Wasilla area in July. Nothing is nailed down yet on details. There is another totally separate "bushcraft" gathering that will also be in the Wasilla area in latter July that I hope to attend though not as an instructor. I may or may not be sharing details on both gatherings in upcoming videos depending on what I learn as details become available. Once again I'll throw out there the offer for you folks to stop by our place and say howdy if you ever are down our way this summer. You folks are always welcome. Connie or I don't foresee any trips up North this summer, at least so far. Hope you two have a great summer.
Thanks Lonnie, I appreciate the offer to come. I don't know when that way happen. Neither one of us ever get down that way.....but if we do we will definitely take you up on the offer.
Praise God you are not hurt worse. Eating and feeding Daisy I'm sure. Called your Family... Everyone eating deer for dinner... I knew something serious happened to you. Maybe other things too...
Right on on your leg presses!! As a former OTR driver, you would have fit right into my world. Run that road a lot. Always something. subscribed to you and Brooke. Always enjoy your videos. Greetings from the Arrowhead of MN.
Dave, You are an inspiration . Getting over the problems in life is what makes us richer. Gratitude follows.Knowledge through experience is our school.
Unbelievable! I am so glad you and Maisie are safe. I just told Brooke that she does magic with her three course dinners, etc, emerging from a vintage rucksack - I think I will call your roof fix Black Magic! God bless you and grant you a safe trip to follow.
@TheRaellz "Please leave the religious stuff at your local church and stop spreading it to everything you see." Why is it OK for you to spread YOUR religious faith "to everything you see"? Perhaps you could type out a list of things Dave can't say or do on his own channel so he doesn't offend you or hurt your feelings? Or, perhaps you should tell whoever's forcing you do watch DAVE'S channel to get a life. Jack - Canada
God is SO watching over you. We've all (who travel) been in that place: some kind of break down, stuck for hours or days waiting for repairs. The fact that deer hit your windshield so hard and you and Maisey are okay, that's a big Thank You God. Thanks for sharing it.
Last November on my way home to Idaho I had a truck problem in northern Alberta. A farmer took me in for the night & helped me fix it next day then his wife hooked me up with food for the last 1000 mile leg home. Canadian country people made my day.
My brother had a 96 mazda escort wagon w/5spd, best escort Ford never made :). My Uncle in Baldwin drove his 1997 Mazda Escort Wagon 5spd to over 400k. I can watch your cabin builds, wildlife trips etc... but I still come back to this video. I think I am always impressed by how you face significant adversity and still keep a totally level head with added comedy no less. I blame Daisy for making you think so clearly. Side mirror on my Suburban taken out this past Saturday by a deer south of Manchester. I was on my way to the cabin in the UP where I can't seem to find a single deer track. Oh the irony.
Hi Dave, sorry the trip didn't go smoothly bud, but I can relate though. When I lived in Wyoming, I had to go from Douglas, WY. to Sheridan, WY. and had an antelope come out of nowhere at around 11 pm at night and it jumped into my windshield in about the same place that deer hit your windshield, although the antelope flew up and over the car after it hit the windshield, so no other windows got broken. This happened in January and it was below zero out. Of course, nothing was open at that time (no cell phones back then either), so I put on my winter clothes for work and drove the car with the shattered windshield the rest of the way at about 30 mph, but I got there several hours later. Anyway, glad you didn't get hurt bud, Rock On!
..Watched this again, after watching Girl in the Woods recent 2 part...cannot get enough of your beautiful Yukon, seeing these friendships, your great canera work. Loved shot from outside tent at night..where you see shadows on that tent, hear the happy chatter! Just all so special!!...thanks for sharing.
It is awesome that you praise the Lord even in the face of adversity. 233,909 views • Jun 6, 2019 • Thanks Brooke and Dave! +Thanks for taking us along! Be well! Praise God that you two are okay. Glad Canada was there for you.
So glad to see you ,Maisie and the OL' Escort all made it to your cabin in one piece. I think SomeOne was testing your faith and looking out for you at the same time. I would like to point out that you also are no slacker when it comes to MacGuyvering.
Why would he thank the lord for wrecking his car? If the Lord had any hand in protecting him, why not stop the deer from crossing the road just then? Of course then the Lord would have not gotten any thanks for saving anyone. You know, your Lord is a jerk. He killed a deer and wrecked this guy's car just to get you to thank him.
@@erictaylor5462 The thing about people like you is you're way too simple minded, and the thought of reading the book, and asking Christians to help you understand it, never enters your hollow skulls. So you mock God which is not a good idea, you also mock Christians, and you can't grasp the fact that what you believe is far more "supernatural" in that your explanation is like paying $200 to see a magic act, only the tricks and magic don't even have a magician! Now THAT is blind faith I wish more Christians possessed! What Christians believe is backed by the book which is backed by observable scientific evidence in geography, history, and prophecy. All these things are observable! Even the parts people like you can't understand, such as the Exodus. People have been trying to discredit the Bible for thousands of years and have failed miserably! That's because it's all true! Now compare that to what YOU believe - We came from wet rocks. A magical highly complex single cell just magically popped itself into existence, again, without a magician! Then there's the who NOTHING exploded for no reason in spite of causality and "somehow" became TIME - SPACE - MATTER - and LIFE. All that and no magician! And YOU mock Christians??!! LOL! Perhaps you're not as uninformed as you appear to be, so I'll ask you two simple questions, let's see how you do. 1) How do we get a single cell without first having fully formed, fully functioning, pre programmed DNA? 2) How do we get DNA without first having a fully formed, fully functioning, pre programmed single cell? Now I know a knowledgeable person like yourself has got to know how all that worked, because otherwise, you're going on pure faith completely lacking in any scientifically observable evidence, you simply wanted to believe it! The reason bad shit happens is because we, people like you, reject God, and instead you go with blind faith. So God's doing what every responsible parents do, when the teenagers become belligerent, mouthy and completely disrespectful, the parents kick their sorry asses out the door when they learn how their lives turn to hammered shit without mommy and daddy supporting, feeding, clothing, handing over cash and credit cards, buy and pay for cell airtime, computers and on and on. God has every right to have completely left us 100% alone to show us what happens when man is in charge! We've screwed up everything we touch, and are on the verge of total nuclear inhalation! We murder, we steal, commit adultery, engage in bum bandito activity, we fight and cheat each other, we murder babies in and now out of the womb, and on and on and on... But He hasn't abandoned Him, we've abandoned Him! And He still intervenes now and then just to slow us down enough to where their'll still be some of us left alive when He returns to judge the mockers, like you, and to get the planet back to it's original state of paradise!! So, I won't hold my breath as far as those two simple questions go, I know for a fact you can't answer them, and you obviously don't even understand them! You better get right with the Lord, because none of us are guaranteed a single second and could drop dead any second! Once you take your last breath over here, and your first over there, it's too late, it's signed, sealed, and delivered!! Roll those dice Champ! Jack - Canada
I came across your travel adventure vlog through my feed. I have driven the MI to Skagway AK via the trans-Canadian Highway but in a fluorescent orange painted transit bus. What a 9 day trip! You’re so right about the people in Saskatoon. I ran out of diesel 600 feet from a station. A guy and his buddy paid for the tow, hotel, engine service and a full tank of fuel plus dinner and breakfast for my family of five. I call them road angels. This guy’s friend even spent the night in the bus to guard our household goods! Thanks for posting this video.
Brother David, I found your channel through watching Brooke's channel. You are both so down to earth, full of common sense and a breath of fresh air, giving God the Glory in your life. I am blessed watching your videos. Funny I have watched several of your videos today and you mention the same abandoned rest stop. God is good.
Hello Dave, miracles still happen. The incident, as you know, could have been a total disaster. Hopefully all the bad luck is over. Thanks to DeWayne for his efforts. Keep the faith my friend. It's hard to imagine that there are forest fires in Alaska so early in the season. The very best to you and Daisy, as well as Brooke and family back home. 🤗
As a driving instructor I have some helpful information. Last time I went to Alaska I saw over 50% of the vehicles with some type of crack in the windshield. Anytime you have a crack in your windshield it compromises the structural integrity of the windshield. I am not sure if this gentleman had any cracks in his windshield but if you do have cracks in your windshield it can make the damage far greater. You should try to always get a new windshield or fix any rock chips that could turn into a crack. Also, if you have a crack in your windshield and a rock gets flipped and hits the crack it could actually go through the crack into the cabin.
Wow Dave what a terrible mishap on your road trip, I'm very glad that you and Miss Daisy are safe, its awesome that you were able to find some good people to help you to carry on your way, may the rest of your Alaska visit be filled with nothing but good times, stay safe Dave, God bless.
The deer had the free will do whatever the deer wanted to do....which was to make a break for it at the last second. Don't blame God for deer and there bad timing
Maybe God said to 5he deer' you are not free, I want to kill you but we are fresh out of crosses to nail you to, so wait for the next poor bugger to drive along and then throw yourself at his windscreen. It will be a test for you and for him. If you die your spirit will go to heaven just like the steam does when you boil the jug. Once it is at heaven it will be res-er-ected back into a deer in good health and you will live for eternity. See Bambi's mother over there, that's what happened to her. But one day Karma dictates that she will go back to earth and live again as a dung beetle. Christians have a very convenient answer for everything. Have a look at what Stephen Fry says about it.
My sister had a Grand Am, she rolled it into a creek and it was upside down. She had it towed home and I bought it. It ran like a scalded dog for years! Glad you were both ok!💕💕💕
Wow! I was surprised you guys were able to fix that windshield as well as you did. You sounded a bit shook up after the Deer incident. Imagine that. Also I like how you walk through life with Gratitude and finding the Good side of things. It took me a long time to learn that. Best Wishes from Montana M.H
Hey Dave, I'm from Michigan, born in Carson City and raised in Pompeii! Daisy is quite vocal, I love it! I like your videos. I'm subscribed to Brooke's channel also. Alaska sure is beautiful country. Merry Christmas!
I watched this about 6 months ago with my kids on our tv in our house we sold a few months ago. Figured I’d revisit it now that I can hit the thumbs up and leave a comment. Great video as always!
Bushradical we are headed up some time towards the end of the week! Waiting on our painter to paint my last job so I can put it back together. We’re so ready to get there! And a bit nervous as well but I think it’s the nature of the beast!
@@9252LIFE You have a great story to tell with your youtube channel. Moving to a remote off grid property starting from the ground up.....There's a ton of potential in that for great videos. If you have any questions about filming and editing let me know.
Bushradical I have more questions about it than you know! Lol I’d trade you manual labor for some lessons for sure! Also I have a nice 4x4 Kubota tractor with a loader and bush hog that I’d help you clear out some stuff if need be in the UP. Oh also I have an auger attachment for some nice deep holes as well! Just let me know!
@@9252LIFE I appreciate the offer. Hit me up on my email sometime. I love to talk shop on video making. If I can help you with any questions, I would be happy to. whippleconcrete@hotmail.com
Wow! What a crazy trip. I'm glad that everything worked out though and I'm certianly happy to know that when the chips are down, no matter where you are, that there are people willing and able to lend a hand. Kudo's especially to Dwayne and his family for there support while you were broke down and for taking care of you and Daisy. God Bless.
Right on. OH, by the way....I have your CD and a letter in the car!!!!! I accidentally left home with it so I';ll mail it from up here. I'm so sorry, with all the hustle and then the accident I forgot!!
Hi Dave, we just recently watched some of your videos on the log cabins you built and they were great, however your Alaska road trips were amazing. You showed some incredible ingenuity and resourcefulness along the way. You have given many out here a new perspective on life and how to live it. You kept your cool in some very difficult situations and had faith in human kind when they lent a hand. Daisy kept you company and was a very faithful protector and fur baby. God watched over you both and guided you home, and he sent those wonderful people to help you out. Since you have worked hard on your building projects and you enjoy taking these trips back and forth, it would be a well deserved gift to you and your family to buy a nice new truck. We just subscribed and look forward to more of your adventures and builds. Take care and God Bless you and your family!
Dwayne, I live NW of Boston, MA and saw you and your guys helping the Bushradical after his deer strike. Will put your shop on my trip list for a drop in and thanks to you and your guys. Best to you all, Dwayne!
Dwayne rocks! These are the kind of people that get things done and make the world a better place. Great job persevering Dave. You adapted to the radical change in your situation and your exceptional personality provided opportunities that may not have been available to the grumpy whiner.
i did the same thing with an AMC Eagle...broke the back window when rolling around in a canal one night. found a new/used back window at the junk yard. cleaned and placed it in the track and found the roof had collapsed a little. with the window laying in the track where it belonged I went for broke and put my feet against the back window frame. gave a little push and pop...it fell right in placed sealed with no leaks and lasted for a year before I sold it. I am so glad you are in good shape minus the hand injury!!
Its a shame American Motors aren't around anymore! They made some really nice cars and then there were those that made you wonder what they had for lunch the day they designed them...
You live a charmed life Dave Whipple. Thank God you and Daisy are ok. Well you had quite the adventure. Glad you are good and also thanks for the video. It was great despite the deer trying to take you out. :)
Wow, what an adventure! So glad you and Daisy were okay especially, and the silver linings along the way. Thank you for sharing your journey Bushradical!
Great people in the North. I remember getting 2 tires in Fort Nelson for my trailer and swapped some copper river reds to keep him open as it was closing time on a sat night. Love that road trip
Wow, what an experience. So thankful this turned out the way it did, and you and Daisy are okay. You’re definitely giving credit where credit is due. That sunset! Sun looked like it was steaming with the clouds on top. And pretty bear. I need a road trip. I really like your channel, thank you for doing it.
New viewer here. Yes, we Canadians are a magyvering lot with a healthy dose of compassion and hospitality. I hit a deer myself here in Guelph Ontario last week. Didn’t even see it. A teenage female. It hit my front grill on my Santa Fe turbo and slightly pushed the ac and rad further into the engine compartment. Insurance claim $9,000. I also was not hurt. Deer died within a minute thankfully. I see the deer in my conservation backyard - they seem to be behaving oddly this year. Climate change spooking them? Thankfully you and Daisy were able to continue on your adventure and I will too bu subbing.
