@@phantom_wolf5274 I've heard that opinion a lot, but imo those screams are some of the most beautiful and haunting things I've ever heard. I feel like I can hear the entire universe in his voice.
I remember seeing them in a concert; then this song came, all I could do was close my eyes and listen, enjoy, feel the music. Absolutely perfect, beautiful and evocative song.
This whole album but especially Percées De Lumière reminds me of my ex girlfriend and summer, the first weeks alone, the feeling of warmth and the sun, like it would never end. No worries, no school, no responsibilities. Feeling empty and at peace at the same time, being out of my first depressions and the mental hospital just a few months. Though I'm doing so much better now, I wish I could time travel and go back. Every type of music can store memories, but damn, this style can hold books...
Wow same exact story for me though. I was with my ex and it was the summer of the year I finished highschool and we were living together in a single rented room but had just started to become severely addicted to heroin. I'd play this album as we fell asleep s snuggling. The relationship ended poorly and I lost everything I had to my name from his mother tossing all of my belongings while i was in rehab. This album definitely brings nostalgia from better times.
I remember the day i saw them live first time, i have met a special person on the show. We were listening to all the alcest performance, and even thinking that person has moved on, till this day i remember that performance as a true magic, the band, forest, the pure magic in the air, that person's smile during the show, this is what I'll never forget. Alcest brings real magic in their shows, spreading love all around. I really wish all the best for that man i have met during the show, he was special. ❤️
4:16 Jaw falls on floor, every time. Astonishingly beautiful track, along with Agalloch's Into The Painted Grey this is the best song this long in the tooth metal fan has heard from this decade.
this track is so eerie. it really evokes the deepest feelings of sadness, loneliness and despair. definitely one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
I saw a c0mment a while ago of someone saying this song was like a metalhead found a cure and I think it's the best description possible. This song portraits darkness and light at the same time with the desire of rising and to heaven and how the power and peace fulfill the soul
NORDKAPP, Norwegen, 23.06.2014, 2.42Uhr Nacht, DAMN BEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE. dieses Lied wird mich ewig daran erinnern. R.I.P. alter Kombi du warst der Beste!!!
I fucking love the blackgaze genre. It's so fresh compared to other metal. All of the atmosphere and dark beauty of black metal with the amazing guitar and musical sound of shoegaze. They aren't two things I thought would go together if I hadn't heard these guys, Ghost Bath, Deafheaven, etc. Just an amazing, fresh genre.
Fantastique ! L'univers musical d'Alcest m'évoque tellement d'histoires merveilleuses ou tragiques... Fantastic ! The musical world of Alcest inspires me so many wonderful or tragic stories...
everyone is talking about 4:15 but holy shit … when it comes back around as his screams climax at 5:29 … i’ve never heard anything that beautiful before
there is no way, a band "should sound like". It's on their own, what music they want to produce. You're exactly this type of conservative fan, which every good progressive band is suffering from.
DEAR FRIEND. IT IS A MISTAKE TO MAKE CONCLUSIONS FOR SOMEONE WITHOUT KNOWNING HIM. MAYBE YOU ARE JUST THE THIS TYPE OF PROGRESSIVE FAN WHO SWALLOWS EVERY PROGRESSIVE BULLSHIT AND CALLS IT PROGRESS EVEN IF YOU KNOW DEEP INSIDE IT IS NOT WORTH LIKE. A BAND IS NOT ONLY THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND BUT THEIR FANS ALSO. AND A BAND MUST HEAR ITS FANS ALSO. THEY ARE THE ARTISTS BUT THERE ARE SO MANY EXAMPLES WITH ARTISTS TRY TO SELL AS A PROGRESS EVERY BULLSHIT THEY PRODUCE IN A NON INSPIRATION PERIOD TRYING TO PERSUADE ALL OTHERS THAT THEY ARE MAKINF SOMENTHING NEW. THIS IS NOT FOR ALCEST !!!!! YOU CAN NOT HEAR FROM ALCEST PLAYING BRUTAL DEATH METAL AND PERSUADE US THAT THIS A PROGRESS. ANYWAY EVERYTHING IS A MATTER OF TASTE . BUT DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS SO EASILY. WE ARE DEALING WITH MUSIC 35 YEARS NOW AND MAYBE WE CAN UNDERSTAND ( A LITTLE BIT WHAT PROGRESS IS AND IF IT FITS TO A BAND OR NOT ACCORDING WITH OUR TASTE). I NEVER BLAME BANDS FOR PLAYING SOMETHING THAT I DO NOT LIKE . I SIMPLY TELL MY OPINION WHICH OF COURSE IS NOT TO BE FOLLOWED BY ANYONE ELSE. HAVE A NIC SUMMER FRIEND
