Donnie Scott hell no that saints game was far from a blow out, smith picked apart the saints defense with great play calling from Greg Roman and great execution
@@Portxican No, the defense kept the Saints from scoring and put Smith in good field position. That and running the ball. But Smith couldn't move the chains in the second half and they came back. Did you watch the video?
The fans wanted you out and the coaches doubted you. It's remarkable to see what this man did for the franchise and the drama that he endured. The last two seasons were a fun ride. Lots of respect Alex.
Back then we had a lot going on with SF... he never got that fair shot because the team was absolutely trash!!!! Different coaches players and coordinators all those years!!! If Steve Mariuchi would’ve got fired he would’ve made Smith better sooner... he had Jeff Garcia who is very similar looking good!!!!
I remember being at the Sunday Night Game in 2010 against the Eagles it had to be a brutal moment for him. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IhVQaBd-oDA.html
AVC IV I believe i was at that same game, fans of that era were so clueless. Jed york sold out the fanbase for a money-making stadium. I think that was the "we want carr" game on a sidenote philly fans are some of the most douchebag i have encountered at the stick. Saints fans probably the friendliest.
That throw to Vernon against New Orleans in the playoffs is STILL one of the best throws I've ever seen. No idea how he fit that ball in that small of a window.
Will D. After losing for so long and how much shit Smith was put through with the fans and coaching situations it was a feel good cinderellaman story. Now theyre trying to out him the same way in KC with how we did him here
I remember the "Thank You Alex" chants when he went in to close his last game. It was pretty emotional cuz we all knew he was still good. And him and Harbaugh showing up to the SF Giants parade was pretty damn cool. Respect
Robert Montoya I like the niners organization I’m a die hard patriots fan, but I despise joe Montana and the way he treated Brady who was Brady’s idol. I never seen such a spiteful distasteful asshole pissy and mad about his records being broken and being salty to Brady who Brady identified as his hero that really disappointed me, but that has nothing to do with niners organization itself it’s just him personally I dislike. Records are meant to be broken and he was a classless asshole to someone who looked at him as god like.
Eddie D was a gangster and had to step back. He was a champion thought, God bless him... got my respect for life. I go by central pawn in Kansas City, KS and look at one of his pawned Lombardi trophies from time to time.
@KT Mr. D was for the player when he was in ownership! He probably would have prompt for Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith. Ever since ownership changed QB iq went down, I respect Alex for busting his ass tho
Jerry Rice: Alex Smith is not the quarterback of the future Now, tosses 4 TDs. 300 plus yards. No interceptions. Burns one of the best teams in football. Success is the best form of revenge Alex, don't listen to them and keep killing it
Niner fans a few years ago "dudes a bust we got kap now who cares" Niner fans now "Alex is a good dude glad he found a home in kc we had some good memories those last couple years." LMAO
exactly but i rather him over kap cuz i knew kap wouldn’t last long. my cousin disagreed with me and now he rather alex over kap. lmao. kap lived 15 mins away from where i live and we known him before he was niners quarterback. in our community, he’s well known as asshole so meh. never fan of him anyway.
kap was the typical 1-2 year wonder running qb. the defense eventually caught up with him and he became exposed. the problem is that this is what happens to most black athletic qbs. they rely on their athleticism and it carries them for a few years in the league but they never develop as passers.
rich carter yeah mobile qb don’t agree with nfl. it was proven over the years of nfl. u don’t see many mobile qb last that long. i will choose pocket passer over any type of qbs. panthers qb was mobile qb in college year. when he got in nfl. he realizes that he couldn’t run much as he did in college so that’s why u don’t see him run all the time
Adrian Flores but what the fuck did Alex do? Harbough could have taken Bernie Kosar to the promise land. I had Alex's back. I believed in him, he was my horse. Knew my niners were in turmoil at the time and it didn't help the matter at all but he didn't do shit in KC and probably won't do shit in Washington either
Alex is a great guy & I'm glad that he found success in KC. We were a horrible team at that time & I think we did him wrong. football fans in general should try to see the people behind the the players. good luck Alex & go Niners!
He's going to be a great Head Coach; he's been under Urban Meyer, Mike Mccarthy(Packers 2010), Mike Martz(Rams 2001), Norv Turner(1991 Cowboys), Jim Harbraugh(49ers 2012) ANDY REID.Understands the Politics of the game and he also has an ECON degree ,other HC that has an econ degree is BILL BILLICHIK.
yup, 1st year in SF(2005) he was under Mike Mccarthy(OC). 2nd year in SF was under Norv Turner(OC). 3rd year Garbage OC and Injured 4th IR Mike Martz 5th Jimmy Raye 6th JR 7th yr Greg Roman & Jim Harb. 9th Year ANDY REID and BRAD CHILDRESS College: URBAN MEYER
I feel so bad for Alex as a niner fan, he got the shit kicked out of him for years during our worst years and we just got rid of him right as we were getting gold. Smh
Besides the one segment where he clearly was talking about Singletary, the year before Harbaugh, how do you know if some of it isn't about Mike Nolan? Because he did have Nolan first who was worse.
TempeSoldier123 You're a stupid dumbass that can't put two & two together. He's clearly talking about Singletary idiot that's all I'm saying I'm not bashing him.
As a 49ers fan, this interview has me thinking about the current QB situation with Jimmy Garoppolo. Ever since the announcement of the trade, the same fans that were rooting for him in the beginning are now turning there back him left, and right. A lot of us didn’t learn our lesson from what we did to Alex Smith, instead of giving him the benefit of the doubt, we completely throw him under the bus. As 49ers fans we need to do better, I know, and I understand that it’s been tough for the past several years but no player like Jimmy G deserves the hate he’s been receiving. Give him the respect, appreciation, and most of all be careful what you wish for.
I talk about this all the time. Our fanbase has historically, since Steve Young, turned on our QBs in favor of who we want to be the next Joe Montana. It happened with Alex, Jimmy, probably going to happen to Purdy the second he makes a mistake. Our 49er fanbase is a young QBs nightmare lol
I'm so happy for him. He never gave up. Most fans weren't aware of the chaos in the front office during his first 6 years. They just see his stats and say he's garbage, why they still have him starting..... Anyways, he redeemed himself before goin to KC and will always be loved by "The Faithful". Thanks for giving us some of the greatest moments in team history. (That New Orleans playoff game.... I watch that game like once a month)
I mean, yeah lol. Dude was stuck learning a new playbook every year and everybody was trash. Gets a solid coaching staff and they bench him after a couple years
Connor Ferrand They were traumatic for sure and it was tough to watch the product on the field. He used to throw behind the receiver. Harbaugh gave him the motivation to become a better quarterback. Would the 49ers have been better with Rodgers if he was drafted first instead of Smith even though the coaching staff at that time was horrible???
Alex Smith is like the wife that got cheated on, treated like dirt & stayed. 49ers picked someone else & got worse. Now, Alex got a new fling KC and life is better lol
This is the best sports reporter & show out there. He actually lets the athletes discuss vs directing them a certain way or talking over them like most do.
How How I’m pretty sure I was the only in Cleveland rooting for the 0-16 season. No point tryna get a win or two and fuck your self out of the first pick.
From a real chiefs fan you will always have my appreciation Alex you held it down and lead us until it was Cap & patty mahommes time and then you put your pride aside and mentored them youngins till it was theY time 💪🏾
I was laughing my ass off when people really thought Kap was a better option for the 49ers than Alex Smith. Say what you want about him checking down all the time but he got the job done with stability. KC were instantly Super Bowl hopefuls, and people forget the Skins were on top of the division before Alex Smith got hurt last year.
I've been a 9er fan since birth. I like Alex, but it's true. Kap was incredible, and there's no way we get to a SB with Smith. Kap had the biggest comeback ever in NFL PLAYOFFS history at the time Down 17-0 to Atlanta in Atlanta. We never come back from the with Alex Smith. They were also down like 26 to 6 in the Super bowl and we were 5 yards away if we had just give it up to go or we would have wanted Super bowl then. Alex Smith was always like 15 to 20% on third and shorts his whole career Nice guy but he got pushed away in Kansas City and he got pushed away in Washington and there's a reason for it
Anybody still think we should have DRAFTED RODGERS after hearing this? With his personality type, he would of never made it on the 49ers during those dysfunctional years. Alex Smith is pure class.
Any TRUE FAITHFUL appreciates you Alex Smith. There is not a true 49er fan I know that bad mouths you . As a 49er, since you left the team I always root for your success in KC every game !
I feel bad for this man his entire career he’s been compared to maybe the greatest quarterback ever in Aaron Rodgers. The 49ers screwed him over for Kapernick and the Chiefs dumped him for Maholmes. Right or wrong the dude deserves better considering he is much better then the game manager the so called experts tagged him with. The Redskins got a good one although they had one with Cousins.
Mitchell D Rodgers has every tool a quarterback has ever been given. He has only had a top ten defense maybe twice in his career. A GM that refused to go after any top notch free agents, and a coach that had hamstring this team for years. He has done more with less than any quarterback in history. Rodgers will easily go down as a top five when it’s over.
Hey Alex Smith is speaking the truth and as a 49er fan I completely understand where he's coming from I too was embarrassed of the home crowd booing our team like that nothing but respect to Alex
Same here I always thought uh whatever alex Smith. Got picked over Rodgers in the draft hes overrated. But he was good just never had anything around him.
As a Seahawks season ticket holder I was so happy they got rid of Alex. Look at his career record versus the Hawks versus Krapernick and you'll know why.
Am I wrong or do you not post the full interview with Alex Smith? Only small clips? If so that's super frustrating, I'm not going to sit through 20 different clips! You literally have 20 different videos for him
Saying he had a hard time vocalizing what he thought was wrong. It's difficult for him to make eye contact with the interviewer. Imagining him at 21, you could tell he wasnt ready
That game he's talking about made me an Alex Smith fan. He was booed and chewed out by the coach he went out there and fires 2 or 3 TD passes and almost won us the game. Dude is a fighter
Man you gotta have thick skin to be a QB in the NFL. So many people talking about you but you are the one who has to do it. No matter if you are Tom Brady or a struggling rookie I salute you NFL QB.
Sad that he was treated that bad. I guess we all wondered why they did. Colin was not a leader. And his inadequacies showed up and everyone thought , where is alex at. And that rice said what he said , that really sucks for rice , because why ?
Amen, I was sceptical of Alex at first back in the day but later on in his career when the 9ers got more stability you could see how good he really was. Hats off for getting us through the worst period of 9ers history.
I grew up a Cowboys fan, and for 4 years I lived in San Francisco while attending Law School, during the 2007-2010 seasons. I have zero respect for San Francisco 49ers fans. They ran this guy out of town, cheered for him to get hurt or benched, whichever resulted in the backup coming in. The best part about the Alex Smith story, is when Colin Kaepernick started struggling in 2014, people I know who are 49ers fans started openly crying for Alex Smith.
I respect Alex so much man this guy was thrown into the wolves from the beginning. Many QB's have been through the same kind of treatment but very few made it as far as Alex did. I still hate Harbaughs decision to go with Kaepernick over Alex when Alex was playing his best ball in his career. Just a class act stand up dude.
You can tell Alex Smith was uncomfortable opening up about the niners organization. His arm slung across to his other arm, him barely making eye contact with the interviewer. He repeated how he felt a dysfunction but never answering the interviewer’s question about how exactly. He gave a broad answer. But nonetheless, I miss Alex Smith on the team. He didn’t deserve to go through all that.
Alex Smith is a great Game Manager. He won't throw interceptions and can protect a lead. But if you're trailing in the 4th quarter, he isn't going to be your guy. He won't lose a game for you but he won't win one either.
As a 9er fan I supported Alex Smith he is the reason that we have the "CATCH 3". it was that GM Balke and Mike Singletary's fault. Glad Jed York learned from that and the franchise are back on how it should be.
Smith was disrespected not only by the coaches, but by the organization in entirety. They never gave him the respect he deserved and they wish they could have a qb even remotely close to his ability.
Rod Manhammer If Superbowl wins are your only standard for success you're going to be disappointed 99 percent of your football life unless your a Pats fan. Will Alex ever win a Superbowl? No, probably not. Will he win a lot of games and get his team to the post season? Absolutely.
" If Superbowl wins are your only standard for success you're going to be disappointed 99 percent of your football life". Tell that to those 22 men on the field.
Alex Smith, you are such a class act and a warrior! Thank you for everything you did in KC and making the kingdom know what it's like to win again. Keep working and get better. All the best and thank you!
