The reason for the Overreem loss was his defensive approach from the start. He didn't attack. Mentally he was already weak against the black opponent. I remember Brock Lesnar 's fight with Overreem. Brock was in the same mindset like Overreem and Overreem was in the same mindset like the black one.

I wonder which kid on his block was 'Big Jair' btw. ;) Managed to punish Overeem (who didn't look his best) right at the end for being too passive. Great win.
Word to the wise... If you've done enough to win a MMA fight begin running away from opponent during final 20 seconds or go for a takedown and try to hug it out as much as possible. Don't risk it... Protect the 💋

Alister Overem was buying time in late minute to be declared winner. In Boxing or MMA, you got to fight till last minute. Being ahead in points doesn't not grantee victory. The opposition will go desperate for last minute knock out punch , when he is behind the points. Exactly happened, here
Overeem gets right back up with 4 seconds to go and the ref calls the fight ? That is not a knock out just a knock down. Overeem could have lasted 4 seconds. All he had to do is cover up. So his lip was split open, so what !
@@xShinobiXxThe ref didn't stop the fight because of the laceration though. He saw Reem get dropped onto his butt and honestly thought he was KO'd. He was not expecting Alistair to get back up and unfortunately botched the call. Happens all the time and is nothing to be ashamed of. (Ex. Lawler vs Askren)
@@hotdoggravyIt was Round 5 already. There is no more mid-rounds for the Doc to stop the fight. The ref was the only one able to call the fight due to a laceration at that point. However, that is not the reason the fight was called. He legit thought Reem was put to sleep which is why he stepped in. This was the wrong call, but it happens so frequently that you can't really fault him.
Look I get that shot definitely hurt him bad but when the legend who’s near the end of his career is dominating a fight with only 4 seconds left, at least let him have a chance to recover. Since when do the fighters get to decide that the fights over?

bro did you see the damage on his lips if the refree didn't stop jairzinho would've continued to hit that spot and most likely to hurt him even badly or even kill him
@@dean630 dude when he got up there was left 3 seconds of the fight or so... Alistair would just put gloves on the head and the bell rings... Game over and alistair would win by decision. He got up immediately. The ref saw the lip after... Not the precise moment of the impact so he wouldn't know about that insane injury..the ref assumed KO.. Bad assumed. Knock down. Not KO. Bad decision..my opinion..
Boxing is boring and one dimensional. Mma has kicks, elbows, wrestling, jiu jitsu... much cooler than watching 2 black dudes punching each other with pillows for 2 hours
