don't forget: almost any heavy attack can be dodge cancelled for earlier control of Lana. example: when Lana summons Manhandela, she will get knocked down. dodge cancel out of it when it is summoned and you will be able to attack much earlier than normal. this goes for combo enders as well. as long as there is a summon, they wil continue their attack even when cancelled out of

I find this weapon so relaxing to use. You mostly keep at a distance and launch huge attacks intermittently that take out huge groups.

I feel like if the boss powers remained until you use a combo attack, it would have been FAR more effective, it would be like Sheik's combo effects but in reverse. In my opinion, what holds this weapon back aside from its incredibly slow speed, is that the icons only remain for a brief period of time.

It’s also worth noting that Lana creates a blue sphere around her when you empower her summons and it gives her invulnerability

To me this weapon is awesome because it allows you to summon out tiny versions of the bosses you face (closest thing for me to play as those bosses even if you can play as ganon or a giant chicken I mean cucco, but that's only in the challenge mode or if you use mods to freely play as the giant monster) also did not unlock this weapon but hopefully will soon (as soon as I figure out where it's hidden at in the adventure mode maps) speaking of which where do you unlock the summoning gate (in adventure mode to be specific)?

My favorite weapon in HW...or any musou game! Best w/ Hasty Attacks, but still great w/o it. Some tips in addition to what was said here... The C1 on its own is very good, like he said... Every one of them will stop enemies in front of you in their tracks in some way plus do good damage, so it should always be your first response when foes are getting too close, to give you a chance to fall back. You could probably spam C1 and nothing else and win a lot of battles. If you get the Manhandla C1 and enemy captains or (even better) a downed boss is in it, I like to use my special. This traps them in the field taking more damage over time while the special winds up. And melts boss WPG. I don't like the enhanced C2, but all the rest are good. Basically, I spam C1 until I get not-Dodongo (but C1 Dodongo still does good damage and hit stuns foes, so it's not a "waste" if I get him). Enhanced C3 is very strong but hits a very short range. Once Lana is free to move in the 1-2 seconds before the seed barrage begins, I like to step in front of it while guarding to bait enemies into it (plus if you stay back, they might go behind the stalks and be missed in that way, too). Enhanced C4 hits hard and very long distance. If you get a Gohma C1, just dash back so the foes are in front of you and the C4 will wipe them out. Even once you can move, just stay behind them for protection till they're done. Enhanced C5...is just amazing. If you do get Argorok C1, do make sure to dodge/run back for a sec. to make sure you can do the combo up to the invincibility sphere w/o disruption, and turn off the lock on. The camera goes nuts w/ it enabled while riding the dragon. Pulling Argorok on C1 is also a great time to enter focus spirit mode. Against bosses, start spamming C1 immediately when they go down. If you get Dodongo, try again. If you get Manhandla, use a special to sap the WPG w/ poison without actually losing any time for them to get back up. If you get Gohma, you can destroy most of the WPG w/ the enhanced C4, then just use a special. Argorok, and...yeah, instant destruction. :)

Dang, I used to think the summoning gate was terrible. So many of its attacks are slow! But this completely changes my perspective. Thanks for these guides!

This my favorite Lana weapon.

Something I’ve noticed about the first heavy attack is that it can insta-kill weak point gauges for captains and generals. I have her tier 3 weak point damage badge though, so I don’t actually know if it works at just any level of that.

I find it so sad how the bosses summoned appear as color orbs in the 3ds version

Yeah- this weapon is grossly underrated simply because of the terrible attack string. Unlike Zelda’s baton, which has basically nothing to stand out going for it, Lana’s gate attacks give her a much better time at shredding bosses and officers.

Does the Switch version have Wii U summoning Gate or the 3DS version of them. As far as I heard the 3DS version of it is doesn't look appealing. I've the Wii U version and was considering getting the Switch but I liked the Wii U version of the summoning Gate.

One single strategy is all you need for this one. Hit C1, dash cancel, C1, dash cancel, C1, dash cancel, and so on. This alone is the most effective way of dealing with crowds, bosses, captains, anything. The only time I ever switch things up is when I see Argorok, THEN, while you have his icon visible, perform her final combo. I find this weapon boring, yet very consistent as long as these are your only attacks. I NEVER do an attack string or combo of any kind EVER, unless I’m riding on the back of Argorok. As far as button layout, just quickly press YAYAYAYA. The monsters will always finish their full attack animation the second their summoned, just dodge cancel out of YOUR animations as soon as possible always and this method can pretty much get anything done

I love Lana, and her cool littoe dances, but i hate this weapin so much, it's awakardly slow and Janky, and very conlipcated. Not my style, or maybe i jyst don't understand, but Lana's Summoning Gate and Ruto are the worst movesets in the game for me

Best version of this character. Deku spear is ass. The book is meh.

It's a terrible moveset when you don't know about the modified combos. Also has the worst special in the game for hitting weak points.
