For the fourth installment in our Race Metal Video Series, Miguel Ovalles gives his first impressions of the Beach Club Al Dente gravel bike and sits down with Teebow from Beach Club...
I've been looking at this bike and it feels a lot like a Mason Bokeh. Both made of Dedacciai tubing, made in a small (the same?) shop in Italy. Both have boattail chainstays. The geometry between the two is near identical. Obviously the Mason has custom formed tubes designed by Dom Mason, but they are very close. The advantage the Beach Club has for me is they're based here in L.A. where I live, so I can see it in person. When I bought my Mason Definition in 2017, it was a leap of faith that worked out. I still love that bike. I think the Mason, after dealing with exchange rates, shipping, and import tariffs, comes out slightly cheaper than the Al Dente, but it' adds a lot of layers of complications than simply driving across town and picking up my bike. Looking forward to your future thoughts on this bike.
