Great Job!!! 150 miles! I can't imagine. I'm hoping later this year I can enter my first gravel event up in Big Bear. Maybe you'll be up there? You didn't talk about your Beach Club Al Dente. I was seriously considering this bike or the Mason Bokeh but then Turner had a 20% off Memorial Day sale and I jumped on that and bought a titanium Cyclosis for slightly more than the cost of the Al Dente. David Turner has been great answering all my questions although he has some misgivings about my all mechanical, no hydro 1X 12 speed mullet conversion. I might be wrong, but I want to go back to cable actuated brakes. Either Klampers or Growtacs.
I might do a separate video on my bike set up for this race. Heck yeah I love to hear that you'll be doing your first gravel event, mine was Foco Fondo in Colorado. Awesome event for first timers.
Maybe you guys at the Radavist could pull some strings with all your connections and get a nice gravel event happening in Santa Fe? Love this series and am looking forward to some steel bikes.
There's the Santa Fe Dirt Century out on Rowe Mesa every year. Riding on Rowe Mesa is ok. Nothing crazy. Just a big, flat, wind-battered ranchland loop. The problem is there's not much gravel in town, and any substantial route that can be created would trespass on Indigenous land and that's not our thing. We do have a gravel road that goes from 6500' to 12,500' you could out and back on, but if you want to loop it, it's pretty rocky singletrack coming down. Or pavement. TL;DR, there are not many options out here for a fun, long gravel course.
