I didn’t complete Guns Of Patriot for some reason, think because at the time I diverted to FIFA instead. Oh and Phantom Pain I didn’t even get to lay eyes on for some reason. Such embarrassing memories. 🤦🏽♂️ However at 33 I’m going to go back in time and play those games and try complete! Wish me luck buddy
Rising Revengeance was…. I can’t describe how beautiful this game is. Two best songs in the game were the only thing I know for real and It has to be this way.
Gameplay I'll give you that even though I think it made the game REALLY easy. But voice acting, cutscenes, music, bossfights, Otacon and Meryls faces I'll never agree with.
Honestly, hated Revengeance like no tomorrow. Why? 1. I hate hack and slash. 2. Way too over the top. MGS is known for combining some wacky supernatural/pseudo-science shit, but Devil May Cry or Bayonetta level of fantasy shit was way too much. 3. The gameplay was too repetitive. 4. Not nearly as complex a plot as the others in the series. 5. I hate hack and slash.
@@sirenmechproductions2396uck yes it was als9 my first MGS game and nothing but Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater came close to the same level of hype i got
Fun fact. The goat you find in the forest where you fight The End its called a Markhor which translates to Snake Eater (Paramedic tells you if you call her) my point being that MGS3 Snake Eater is indeed the goat.
Mgs3 is one of the best games of all time and probably the best mgs, but 2 was a great work of art of our time. There are online essays written about its greatness
Metal Gear Solid 4 was incredible. It’s a love letter to those who grew up with MGS. It nailed the nostalgia, the feeling of getting older. An absolute masterpiece of a game.
Metal gear games Kept you waiting huh? Kept you waiting huh? Kept you waiting huh? Kept you waiting huh? WHEN WIND IS SLOW AND FIRE HOT Kept you waiting huh? Kept you waiting huh?
Ikr, I feel like people either love it or just out right hate and disrespect it. AC!D 2 is so much better than the first game it's actually crazy that people consider them on the same level. I feel like most people that dislike AC!D haven't even played it
MGR is a game where you fight a huge robot just about 40x your size, a talking robot dog, a français woman with a shit-ton of arms, a magnet man, a guy who really likes minors, a brazilian samurai, another huge machine that you somehow defeat and a buff politician,(plus some random guy in a mech suit never mentioned before) but somehow it remains one of my favourite games. Plus the music fucking slaps.
Yay, someone was fair to Portable Ops! That game's story and soundtrack were phenomenal! That's where Calling to the Night came from. That Alone makes the game worth remembering.
But then he put Rising on par with Metal Gear Solid & Snake Eater, and above Guns of the Patriots... Like I mean, Rising was underrated, but there's no way it's on par with the best of Metal Gear Solid's.
@@tronovonflidder775wouldnt call Guns Of the Patriots one of the best MGS games. MGS1, MGS2, MGS3 have the best stories. And MGSV has the best gameplay.
@@NobleBoss MGS4 has the best settings. Story is just as good as the rest, and the characters are peak. It's also the last true MGS game. MGS5 may technically have the best gameplay overall, but it's full of small little changes that kinda breaks the deal. Such as stealth camo & cardboard box getting nerfed.
@@tronovonflidder775 the settings were cool I'll give you that and it was the last traditional stealth mgs. But the story was just not as well written as the original trilogy. Same applies to MGSV story (which was even worse). MGS4 kind of ruined Snake after his perfect ending in mgs1 and 2. In fact he peaked in the 2nd game. Accelerated aging was a middle finger to Snake and the mgs1 fans. Also Johnny poopy pants was awful. And nanomachines being used to explain everything was cheap. And Liquid ocelot kind of ruined Liquid Snake and revolver ocelot as individual characters. I wish Kojima had either fully committed to bring liquid back or leave him dead and let ocelot his normal self. MGS4 has a lot of good material in it but a bit of bad too.
@@NobleBoss@jodlad8343 mgs4 is not as perfect as the hype makes it to be that's a common fact by now. I agree that killing Ocelot's whole character in favor of a bullshit psychic voodoo shit is such a dick move to his character arc as a whole, it's so stupid to just waste all of that potential for no reason besides symbolization, maybe they didn't know what to do with him because his story arc got too confusing for them idk but what they did to him is dirty as hell. Nanomachine excuse i can tolerate at the very least, it's better than magical stuff like the beauties at the very least, as for Snake the accelerated aging has been eluded all the way back in mgs1 when Gray Fox remarked that Snake aged poorly so it's a planned thing from the start, whether you like it or not it's inevitable that Snake will age faster unfortunately. There's also the lack of a proper conclusion to alot of the old characters, most notable being Eva, Ocelot, even Naomi, all of these characters were handled poorly imo. It's a great nostalgia trip most of the time and it didn't really introduce new concepts into the series besides small robot mechs and nanomachines, it suffers from being too clingy with mgs1 that it ultimately felt less like a metal gear solid game and more like a nostalgia trip solid game with better cqc animations lol
Phantom Pain was great, gameplay was fantastic the story though for was a little bit underwhelming least from chapter 2 it was, if Kojima was given time to finish it and not forced to release MGS 5 so soon the game would of been probably the best MGS game even surpassing Snake Eater!
V was almost like playing a game in free play mode. It had a solid story and nicely ties everything together but if you’re playing main titles and skip V and Peace Walker (I consider it a man title cause it was included in the MGS collection) you can still get a full story that makes sense.
@@dakashoes4702 lately yeah, but before I started the series (like within the last year) it seemed like V was getting a lot of hate. A whole lotta "just skip it." And "it was half assed, don't bother"
@@MeetYourDarkSideI mean, it adds little to nothing to the story of the fanchise, and only serves as an excuse for Big Boss being alive in MG2SS, something that nobody cared about after MGS4. And the gameplay is terrible. It was repetitive af, and the chapter 2 was just the chapter 1 but a bit harder. MGSV only got the hate a few years later, after the "professional" reviewers gave the game a 10 out of 10, maybe only because the graphics, because no other feature of the game was even half polished
Updated Version: ru-vid.comR3oUuahp6CA?feature=share MGS4 is a great game but people hates it because of the long cutscenes. But Metal Gear is not Metal Gear without those nicely done shots and cinematic cutscenes. Story is one the greatest traits of the Metal Gear series, so if you don't want any cutscenes on your game, JUST PLAY FORTNITE KID!
People don't like the cutscenes because most of them are exposition dumps and few are meaningful character interactions. There I said it. And also MGS4 hasn't aged well because of how much of a mess the story is.
Mine was either MGS2 or Metal Gear (I first played Metal Gear iirc, then when I found it too hard I played MGS2, I did go back and beat MG1 after MGS2 and MGS3). I got the Xbox 360 Metal Gear collection with MG1, MG2, MGS2, MGS3, and Peace Walker and Revengeance. Glad people say they like MGS2 and Revengeance now.
@@Gbbb239 Tell me you never played the game without saying you never played the game: MGS2 is extremely good, from gameplay to plot and message. Everyone just found the smallest thing to criticize the game beacuse; "duhuh, couldn't play as solid snake for the entire game".
Revengeance was made at a time when video game companies were still making video games for fun and not for money… well minus Skyrim of course and Call of Duty those two knew that they could cash grab themselves
Because Skyrim and Black Ops 1 are THE GOAT, THE GOAT That's why they knew they could make a lot of money : CoD selling CoD games, and Skyrim being the RPG of the 2010 decade
@@wisemankugelmemicus1701 oh no, of course not, at least not on the first three releases of the game but now that there’s like almost 11 different versions to buy and it’s the same exact game that’s a cash grab. That’s also why I said they knew that they *could* be cash grabs because they Openly made it with care, but they had the choice to make into cash grab because it was so good.
@@jaidynallen3847 Skyrim is being resold to maintain interest in the Elder Scrolls. It is literally the top selling singleplayer game ever made. Its not even close.
@@clockwerk152 Gene and Volgin. And Armstrong. Skullface had a lot of potential in GZ. And then his character development fell flat in The Phantom Pain.
Yes, MGS2 is the best game of the series, and it's easily one of the greatest games that has ever been created, it's a beautiful piece of postmodern and cyberpunk art full of philosophy
Really? I reached the part where you play as raiden and i must confess i'm not a fan of his character, i get that he is supposed to be the opposite of snake, not the legendary soldier but the one in the making, as to have a more personal approach with us real players, but seriously he feels lame and boring as hell when he is not cutting everything to pieces, and i don't even want to start with the calls, they feel soo liveless and off putting, i know why this is but still.
@@SwordyplayrebelI really like raiden, and I love how unsettling Colonel cambel is in this game. From the very first line he feels so robotic and it only gets more poignant now that celebrity deep fake audio ai is so prevalent in today's society. It just made me laugh every time he said "I'll go look into that" everytine raiden asked him a question when you know he was just blowing him off. It was just a throw away line that even the real cambell used in mgs1 when he didn't want to tell snake/raiden something. And it's even worse when it's coming from a robot. Also I love that raiden is big boss created through memetics rather than how solid snake was created through genetics. It's the whole nature Vs nurture. And it shows how we can be shaped just as much by our experiences as we are from our genes and where we come from. Also if you view raiden as being nothing more than an puppet for the patriots right from the get go with no will or knowledge of his own, it helps keep everything in perspective throughout the whole of mgs2 and let's you appreciate it more.
Good comparison i hope it feels like mgsv to play. Maybe you can do a comparison with the pachinko graphics i would like to see how good it looks compared to that. Keep it up yong love your videos!
The second I heard the audio of “I mean it’s alright” start up after MGS 1, my heart immediately sank at the prospect of there still possibly being MGS 2 slander all these years later.
Glad revengeance got some love lol. It might not be "traditional metal gear" but it's good campy fun all the same and I've grown to love it over the years
@@iqraahmed830 its not a demo. Have you played a demo before? A demo is a part of a game (usually the beginning) that you can play for free. Ground zeroes is a stand alone game. Just because its short does not mean its a demo lol
On that Homelander, with the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, we agree. Because that one is my favorite and like you is very perfect to fight with a katana.
ground zeroes and phantom pain are not on the same level as 4.. they're unfinished, keifer sucked etc no. just no. not saying they were bad games, just not on the level. "i mean it's alright" would've been more fitting.
Sons of Liberty is my favorite of the series. The bleak environment, the smooth gameplay, the amazing story, everything. It's what I needed for a Metal Gear game.
I thought revengeance was hot garbage. It was right before the internet really exploded and I never really knew how everyone else felt. I can’t believe how in the minority I am! I’m gonna have to dig it out and give it another chance
my older brother bought it for my 18th birthday earlier this year i love that fucking game so much,i'm gonna reinstall it once i have enough free space on my pc
(My slightly controversial ranking) MGS4 >> MGS3 > MGS5 (GZ and TPP) = MGS2 > MGSPW >> MGS1 MGS4 is a 10, 3 is a 9 or 9.5, 5 and 2 are both 8.5 - 8.8, PW is a 7, and 1 is a 6. Everything other than 1 is good, although my opinion on PW changes a lot. I couldn't tell you why I'm not a fan of 1, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth whenever I play it. I've also played MGR, but my thoughts on it are very conflicted, and I can't really rank it. I love some aspects but absolutely hate others.
I’m conflicted on mgs5 on one hand it helped settle the bridge between the big boos saga and the solid snake saga but on the other hand there are a lot of things that are unfinished and the second half of the game doesn’t flow that well (I also would’ve liked a few more maps but that’s just me) but overall I like it
