An important thing to note: for the accelerate and decelerate staffs, you don't need to shoot your projectiles through the staff. Just so long as the staff is up, they'll change the speed of all of your projectiles regardless of position.
If you set the repulsion rod behind your opponent and one of your cubes hit them it'll pull them STRAIGHT to you and allow for some incredibly dirty looking combos It'll pull them to you on block too, but less so. Definitely something you'll have to lab and plan for if you want to make any real use of it but it's really cool when you've set it up.
Putting a gravity rod behind the opponent and shooting a projectile on a knockdown will have it so the projectile spins behind them ready to sandwich the opponent. If you throw you get a full combo also. (Results vary with projectile used)
Love the character but my only issue and it might be an skill issue is that you lose mana for blocking which is crazy because your essentially getting punished for playing defense
Also note. You can hit his projectiles with a hit box and they disappear, they don’t even trade. For example you can throw Eddie at projectiles (frog) and he’ll just beat every projectile…..
Meanwhile jack-o's minions die to the cubes, even if the minion is kicked ( kicked minions should destroy projectiles ... ). Just returned to gg strive after a long time and asuka is just so cancer ( atleast for me as a jack-o main ). Feels like all i can do is defend/ 5p cubes for ages and wait for a mistake and try to capitalize on it and finish the match based of that 1 mistake... edit: Can't even minion parry the cubes cuz the following cubes just hit me and parrying a cube does nothing...
I imagine the best Asuka players are going to be on hitbox or keyboard. QC's can be executed exceptionally easy, with chant into bookmark or mana being much easier to execute on button instead of stick
One of my only gripes is why does he have elemental cubes with no elemental properties? Itd be nice if the electric cube put enemies into shock state, as well as introduce some kind of mechanic with the water cube.
Hahaha I’m still figuring out which one I like more, and also working on just not getting absolutely pummeled, let alone switching cases But I do really like rest case 3 I think, the mama regen and teleport and slow projectile etc… do a lot for me
