4:02 we also see Ashton putting Laudna's safety first by throwing her to imogen as they were falling. Ashton has been very attentive to Laudna's safety since the beginning of the campaign, and very noticibly more so since her resurrection. Love that the animation depicts this small detail.

Few things you've missed: Ashton does actually catch laudna when they fall off the ship but because the rainbow sparks are gravity, hes falling faster so tosses her to imogen. Feywild shot if you go frame by frame, oryms face is the first to change because of his perception Chetney is using fearnes tail as a pillow in the suntree shot We can see Fcg's buzzsaw and grapple on the right Chetney cuts himself when he transforms, allowing him to use hemocraft

Here's some more details - In Ashton's fall: he hits his head on his left side, the same side shows darkened eyes in the broken mirror part, which line up with where his glass head is - In the Bassuras scene, the Transfer Suffering hits from Ashton to FCG at the same spot in the arm - As FCG gracefully floats over the Bassuras battle, Sam sings in the background - In Laudna-Imogen's back-to-back scene: the lyrics say "darkness" over Laudna, "friendship" over Imogen, and Imogen flies up over "rise"

Thanks Will for breaking this down frame by frame. What a beautiful tribute to this current campaign. You can tell it was created by someone both deeply knowledgeable and completely in love with these characters. Watching the cast react to it for the first time shows that they didn't have a great deal of input, as most of it seemed to be a surprise to them.

Very nice! I think you got almost everything! The only things I can think of that were missing are -Ashton during the fall grabs Laudna and tosses her back towards Imogen to get her to safety -During the fight scene with Otohan, Orym's blade has a cherry blossom effect. This is a cool effect in and of itself, but I also personally find it significant that that's the same effect the animators chose for Will and Derrig to disappear into at the start. -During the form of dread scene I think they're in the weird delilah dimension thing? Given all the dead trees before it goes over to ruidus? -I mean they're pretty obvious so I don't think it needs to be said, but I don't think you explicitly mentioned that Otohan was using her weird shadow echo thingies during the fight scene with Orym -During the fight scene with mister in it, the background doesn't start out in Bassuras; It transitions from a jungle/forest environment that I can only figure to be referencing the jungles around Jrusar, fighting a vine creature (which, I'm not sure if it matches the description but it does remind me of the fight they had on their way to the Heartmoore), into Bassuras and the deathwish run/crawler fights (which you mentioned) -You also said "gang members", which _is_ true, but if I recall, the yellow cloaks are specifically the closest thing Paragon's Call members have to a uniform. So, not just any gang, but the main group they had to deal with during the Bassuras arc -This is not something you missed, but for those who've forgotten by now, during the scene where we see FCG's old group dead, some of the mechanical parts lying around in the mess are what would go on to become his different arm attachments. This makes sense, given early on in the campaign, FCG said he scavenged those from his dead friends. Anyhow, that's all I could find and think of that you haven't already mentioned!! I love this intro so so much

When Imogen casts lightning bolt, there is a brief moment where her eyes flash red

Actually, since we still see the glass on ashton on the left side of his head in the shot introducing fcg, its *from the perspective of* fcg rather than a reflection in his eyes. This is because if ashton were looking at his own reflection in a mirror, he'd see the glass on the side it actually is, his left, which is the right side of the head of the mirror image

A blink-and-you-miss-it moment that was not mentioned, when Fearne and Mister teleport in front of Chetney during the fight with the plant, Chetney gets hit by the vine and smacked off screen, it is at 1min and 7secs in the OG video I believe

One detail I've yet to see anyone comment on is that Ashton's eyes are the same color before/when they fall, while after the fall they have a different colored left eye, I know that's how it's suppose to be but it's such small detail that when doing things on deadline it could easy to give them a damaged eye pre-fall.

1:52 The buildings at the beginning could very possibly be: - Lord Eshteross' estate - A building from Jrusar - The starpoint conservatory - A rundown arch from the run-down whitestone when they were retrieving Laudna's soul. 4:00 Ashton actually throws Laudna at Imogen to catch. 4:20 Orym actually reacts first before everyone else. Also, while everyone is scared, Fearne just seems embarrased more than anything. 4:56 Not really anything but just a theory. FCG casted share dream on imogen the night they stayed under the Sun tree and in this, he is clutching his bag tightly (he couldn't cast spells while in the dream). Also, this is funny but Chet has his eyes open lols (or there's a weird wrinkle). 5:48 (edited - saw @blizzard_inc 's comment) We see ashton's dark eye on the left hand side (his right) where it is actually supposed to be on the right of the screen (his left). If it were a reflection of ashton, they would see the dark eye on the right of the screen so *FCG is looking AT Ashton.* 7:01 Another funny thing: Chet pulls off his hat even though that is the one article of clothing that would stay on him properly. 7:44 FCG actually didn't hit with his grappling hook (like he fails to do almost every time he uses it). 8:26 Ashton has "Just don't" written on the back of his shirt (this was mentioned right at the beginning of the campaign but not really since) I really wish they incorperated more of Pate though. Especially in his familiar form where he is flying (maybe in that last shot or something). And I wished that when they first showed Fearne, they put in a hint of Nana Morri - her house, her bird form, a shadow.

THE DELILAH PART WHATTT I DIDN'T NOTICE (tears in my eyes)

Another details is that cherry blossoms symbolize life and death, really beautiful imagery.

The last shot of Bells hella matches all of their first character arts

my favorite detail in this animation is the hells sleeping under the sun tree, and you can see in Ashton's head there are sparks going off like Talesin described happens when he sleeps

Aslo saw in the opening creation scene before the gate the building behind Ludenus is probably the malies key. And in the FCG murder scene on the ground was the buzzsaw and the grappling hook.

I appreciate this Brel down when I saw the intro I wasn’t a fan that they used the same song and the old because I det like it didn’t fit with the scenes that were playing out. But your explanation of the lyrics ad when they happen has Chan my mind completely on this. Thank you for that

It was a good breakdown. This was not my favorite intro Critical Role has done. I think it's because this story is just not so... Um... I don't want to say boring... Because the group never is... But the CAMPAIGN 3 seems to be Lacking something. It could be that the characters do Not have A lot of magic ability. I mean the last 2 Campaigns we had Barbarians, Skilled Warriors, Healers, Wizards, Jester& Caduceus (monks?). I think because the characters don't have a lot of magic (defense/combat) they are overwhelmed often. BUT Bells Yells does make a lot of Costly Impulsive Decisions! 🔴 Sorry for Rambling. My 25 yr old son got me addicted to D&D (CR) and Dimension 20 for years now. We watch it on RU-vid and Twitch. We argue like a soap opera 😅.

Hot take: I like their original character artwork better. The only new ones I might like more are Laudna and FCG.
