Thank you so much for your full explanation of what is happening. After you clean your work bench, it is your cobbler elf’s who pay you a visit. 😀. It is appreciated by your clients when the restoration shows your professionalism.
I'm saving up some cash to have you guys work on some shoes of mine. Love the devotion you have to your craft and I hope you get a lot of shoe/leather accessory lovers subscribing to you.
Bedo's Leatherworks LLC He’s right...too many vids with loud and obnoxious music fading in and out constantly having to change the volume on the TV I am guilty of watching this vid 3 times now and even got my son to watch this. Truly amazing craftsmanship, step by step details; a analog art, in a digital age...the purity is addictive and refreshing to see someone so dedicated. Thanks for the share.
This video took me back to the 60's, when, as a child, my uncle took me to get his shoes resoled. Thanks for helping me relive great childhood memories.
Hi Bedo great job on the boots I don’t think it’s OCD I think it’s an old fashioned thing called pride in your work.Something that is getting harder to come across.👍🏻
if I can shave with my chisels then they’re almost sharp enough. I watched with my teeth clenched yelling CUT AWAY FROM YOUR HANDS! You think you have OCD, try from over here. Your work is fantastic and top notch.
Like always great job and great video and thanks for letting us be part of your work via videos keep up the great work thanks and stay safe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love watching a real craftsman at work. And even better, I get an education how a shoe is constructed and what entails a restoration. Very good video sir.
Really enjoy your handiwork and knowledge. Always learn something from your videos. I was born in England and as a boy, my dad would take us up to George Nixon the cobbler for shoes and repairs. He had a good size rock outside the store on the street corner which we would slide down to entertain ourselves while waiting. I live in Detroit now and that rock is still there seventy years later. Those ringed nails are called annuled nails. They are also used for flooring and construction because they wont pull out.My work is no different from yours because when I rebuild something, I tear it all out and rebuild it up properly. The customer is always pleased with quality work because they spend a lot of money for junk these days. Dig your philosophy as it is mine as well. God bless and watch your hands.
I have been an advocate of quality for the vast majority of my life; watching this true Artisan at work make me appreciate my trickers bespoke shoes even more.
Dear sir, you are a master! I've just recently found your channel and I am in complete awe at your skills. Thank you for keeping up this wonderful tradition in a world in which everything is designed to be disposable.
Thank you Bedo for taking your personal time to film and explain your craftsmanship. Perfect filming, even if it was just on Kodak Super 8. Very chill and insightful to watch
"My OCD [pride of work] kicks in a when it's [JR stamped logo] off a little bit right or left." EXACTLY the level of attention to detail that I desire from my shoe repair professional!! I'll be sending my To Boot New York Chelsea boots to you guys for repair service.
The steps you take to accomplish the end result are just mind blowing for an amateur like myself who appreciates and recognizes high quality workmanship. Thank you for enlightenment!
Fantastic video! I was enjoying watching it! No irritating music just sounds of real shop and your explanation! Two thumbs up and subscription! Greetings from Cleveland OH!
Thank you for making this longer more detailed video. I know it requires a lot more time and effort on your part but for me it transforms your videos. I have always found this subject fascinating so to get the tricks of the trade explained so clearly really upps my appreciation of your trade, more like this please! :)
Your attention to detail and dedication to craftmanship is remarkable and admirable. I love it when your say "let's continue". It also amazes me that people pay so much to restore shoes. They must all be very expensive shoes when new, thereby making the painstaking work you do to restore them worth it to both you and the customer.
I am totally sending my Daltons Shell Cordovan AE to you for this exact job.....that Dalton looks better than the original new ones I just purchased ;-) ...true master artisan sir!!)
You are an artist with shoes! I used to live not 15 miles from your shop! I have two pairs of J&M Crown Aristocrafts from years and years ago that need some attention - would love to have you fix them up.
Wonderfull video! i find shoe construction so fascinating. i have just begun trying to learn how to make shoes by hand, and im working on my first pair. it is way harder then it looks!
Oh, thanks SO much for the more detailed video!!! I have no intention of making a shoe but find this super fascinating as I make leather bags and all facets of leather crafting interests me. You killed it again...super Ninja!!! PS Your kind of expertise comes at a cost...a lifetime of hours spent in the workshop! Kudos.
Bedo's Leatherworks LLC. Cobblers tend to want to share. Shoemakers on the other hand hold onto their techniques till they pass.. Its part of business I guess.
Steve, your attention to detail is amazing! Thanks for taking the time to describe the various processes you use when recrafting a pair of shoes/boots. I believe I’ve learned more about the shoemaking process in this video than anything else I’ve seen on RU-vid. Without going into detail, is the cost of recrafting a pair of shoes comparable to what Allen Edmonds might charge? Thanks, Ed
I watched one of your other videos last night and about to watch part 2 of this one. This is just like watching home improvement shows. You wonder how it's done and as your're watching you think "that doesn't look that hard" but in reality how long did it take you before you could make it look so easy? I'd get my shoes tore apart and be like oh hell......and in the trash they go! Awesome work!
Do I own Allen Edmonds? Can't afford. Do I know how to repair shoes? Hell nah... Do I want to pursue a career? Nah, I'm lazy... Did I watch this video from the beginning to the end? Hell yeah !!!!!!! Did I love it? YUP !
You watch enough of these videos, you think you could do it yourself but you know you really can't. I got the same way with those TV shows of babies being delivered.
Excellent point about going the extra mile if something needs more attention. That's unfortunately something that seems to have gone out of favor these days. That's why I try to always support local, individually (or family) owned businesses. Because those place (much like your shop) tend to be in the business they're in because they love what they do and it shows in their work.
I love this stuff. Legitimately, were there a cobbler with whom I could apprentice (With whom I wouldn't then be directly competing), I'd have done this in an instant. I just could never figure out how to make it a viable business choice, when I was younger and healthy enough to do it. I guess I'll be content to watch you!
Thanks for showing your work a little more. Much appreciated. I was surprised at how aggressive you were with the chisel when removing the cork. I guess the foot bed can handle that?
Brilliant, excellent well done, everything dude. I subscribed immediately. Going to part 2 now. You made that pocket for your phone didn't ya haha My Dad does the same :)
