I love this interaction between Mark and Allen because it means that Nolan never talked to Allen at all during their fights or question why he was there so Allen kept returning to Earth assuming it was Urath.
I remember hearing somewhere (dunno if it was a fan theory or not) that that was actually intentional, and Urath had been taken over by Viltrumites, and Omni-Man didn't want them finding out.
@@PlayerZeroStart one fan theory that I heard, was that Omni man was the one to convince Allan that they were Urath, the idea being that a Viltrumite takeover would be easier, if the coalition believed that it was under their control the whole time Maybe of the Invincivble fan theories I’ve seen center around the idea that Nolan is much more empathetic and good natured than he lets on. Which I love. What makes Omni man such a good twist villain is that he is a great father at heart, so the idea that he is in reality just a big softie that has to bury his true self under a mountain of Viltrumite propaganda and self convincing is cool. Favorite of those being that Nolan didn’t say a word during the Guardian fight, because he feared he couldn’t do what he must, if he let his friends have a chance at taking directly to him.
I love that this shows the difference between Mark and Nolan. Every time Allen showed up, Nolan just beat the snot out of him assuming he was a threat. Mark had a 2-minute conversation and ended the whole thing.
Fun fact: Allen gets stronger after every fight that ends with injury. So who knows maybe Allen could’ve held his own better if he fought Omni man again
Actually I just realized when Allen started defeating Mark he wasn’t surprised. He probably beat Nolan I don’t know why you’re making up stuff about Nolan beating Allen. Anyways the creators themselves admitted Allen is the strongest.
Trust me, he’s awesome in the comics. I’ve been reading the comics to get ahead of the show because I’m not waiting lmfao But he’s gonna be awesome in show! >:)
When Allen says his superiors lost their minds and told him not to return to Earth, that implies that Allen DISOBEYED orders just to warn Mark. That just means he respected the guy enough to make sure he was safe, regardless of orders.
I like how they made Urath actually look like Earth, you can kinda see Africa and maybe America, so it makes sense for Allen to confuse Earth for Urath
I love the detail they had with the rocks they sit on. The first time they meet, Allen gestures for Mark to sit on the rock lower than his, as he feels he has more control of the situation and should have more respect since he's an authority of sorts (I think). While the last time they meet, Mark gives him a rock that's the same height as his, which may suggest a mutual respect for the alien and an extension of an alliance or friendship, since he's gonna need all the help he can get. Kinda a bit nerdy, but I found that detail cool
@@Lu1zF3l1pe Nolan looks like a human superhero, and flying brick is a pretty common powerset in this setting. All he had to go on is apparently this Urath place has some really strong guy as their main space invasion defense guy.
@Lu1zF3l1pe Allen would have expected a Viltrumite to be rampaging across the planet, or ruling it entirely. Nolan was on an infiltration mission, something he wasn't familiar with.
The fact that the Viltrumites blew up Allen's ancestral planet is a testament that the Viltrumites were legitimately afraid that Allen's species could have successfully seceded otherwise.
@@daymatrian2604 Viltrumites literally conquered thousands of planets with violence, threatening to end their entire existence if they don't comply, steal nearly all their supplies, theyre even allowed murder each other because it's considered "making the empire stronger for killing the weak link" but it's racist of us to call them monsters? You take "woke" to a whole new level
@@taylorlipinski4048 @Mohamed Ahmed what I'm trying to say is that he probably said Aliens because there are multiple species of aliens that try to conquer the galaxy such as the Flaxans, Viltrumites aren't the only aliens that conquer I aint trying to be super woke, just saying
You realise comments like this literally attract dislikes, right? They read this and think "hUr HuR fIrSt DiSlIkE" And just like that, there's a dislike now, congratulations
3:11 I just love the amount of concern when he sees mark. Aside from remembering his name it says he was happy to see he wasn’t too late or that Atleast they were putting up a fight.
He likely beat Nolan. Atleast in the comics Nolan himself confirmed Allen was stronger than him. Also in this fight Allen thought we was fighting the same guy and wasn't at all surprised he was winning. So chances are he beat Nolan before.
He was joking around with Mark thinking he was fighting nolan and not taking it seriously at all. He definitely did not lose to nolan and if anything nolan was probably silent and stoic only fighting him off since nolan never told allen this was earth or maybe he hid the fact it was earth
@@Noobie2k7 He gets stronger when hes close to dying. Originally hes weak against viltrumites, but eventually gets strong enough to kill a bunch of em.
@@Noobie2k7 The COP is at war with the Viltrum Empire. If Allen beat Nolan he'd have killed him. Allen had gone to Earth before mistaking it for "Urath" and Nolan had pretended to be a human with superpowers and not a viltrumite to maintain his cover. So Allen and Nolan had friendly spars like this in the past, and Nolan probably held his punches if not threw the fights to keep Allen from getting suspicious. Allen at this point was absolutely not stronger than Nolan.
@Noobie2k7 he probably explained who he was the first time, and Nolan just went along with it and let him live to keep up the charade; and possibly learn some information about the coalition that could be valuable to Viltrum
I think a main reason Allin doesn't freak out finding out he's a Viltramite is that he doesn't have a mustache, it seems dumb but it's explained in the comics that all Viltramite men have those mustaches for a specific reason, him not having one means he at least doesn't agree with Viltramite social norms, and for Viltramites that means you go against them all
@@TimLimDimSims lolol you got trolled, that is absolutely, totally not a thing at all. They're making shit up to fuck with people that ain't read the comic.
For everyone in Mark's life, it is very weird that the most normal looking friendship he has is with an Alien from another planet. The only person who can speak with Mark on an equal level. He was able to not be afraid of Mark with his abilities, understand how huge his conflict will be, but understand he could handle it. The season ends with not him with his friends back in the parlour. It feels like a war vet comning home to see nothing has changed, but Mark has changed. It end with Allen, someone with a rough life, and made mistakes but knows how new this is.
@@destroyerofmorons that too. It’s a big universe out there, doesn’t make much sense for there to only be one species who started smoking that imperialist kush.
When Allen describes the viltrumites you only understand, what a huge step it was for Nolan to just leave...the worst thing a father could do. But indeed it was a never before seen act of love.
Pretty sure by the end he has at least better heat resistance than any viltrumite if not just better resistance overall. Comic readers should know what I’m talking about without spoiling
The moon is approximately 238,900 miles from Earth they were practically on Earth at 1:15 then invincible tackles Alvin then they are on the moon around 1:20 they get to the moon in around 4 seconds that means they are going around 60,000 miles per second (3.5 milllion miles per hour) that is around 15 times faster than the fastest man made object! People shit talk mark but that is pretty impressive!
Okay, but all jokes aside, does this mean that there’s a random-ass alien world that’s being left to the mercy of alien conquerors while waiting for Allen to show up?
@@bananabeans5046wouldnt that just mean that because they were never assessed by Allen the coalition has no idea whether to not theyre powerful enough to defend themselves or even if they're still around
Seth does such a good job here, plus the animators did great with the telepathy plus facial animations. Their relationship so far is great, too, coming full circle in S1 but also as a means of a great way to open up the Invincible universe going into S2.
"Sorry to break the news to you, man." :/ "Don't be. If not for you, I might've been fired during my evaluation in 20 years time. _Come to think of it, I still might be."_ T_T
Fun fact: allen in this season is still not as powerful as a viltrumite, in the comics it is shown that after allen visits mark for the second time (after omni man left earth) he returns to talescria (capital of the coalition of planets) And while Allen went to eat with his girlfriend, he was attacked by a group of Viltrumites who disemboweled him for not giving them information about Earth. He later spent months healing himself in a lab, and his regeneration made him more powerful than normal Viltrumites.
He was joking around with Mark thinking he was fighting nolan and not taking it seriously at all. He definitely did not lose to nolan and if anything nolan was probably silent and stoic focusing on only fighting him off since nolan never told allen this was earth or maybe he hid the fact it was earth. Comics yeah allen was def not as powerful but here in the show he seems to be way more powerful than his comic version. I think they switched the order and made his talescria attack happen before which is why he seems fearful of viltrumites and why he could fight omni man easily.
Spoilers I watched the first half of season two and it seems like Allen is going to die bc the mole turned off his medical ewuipment which really sucks :(
The name "Allen the Alien" feels like your generic alien title in a cliche superhero cartoon, until you look deeper. Allens planet was destroyed, his entire species no longer has a native homeworld. Allen is "The Alien" no matter where he goes.
If I had a nickel for every time J. K. Simmons and Seth Rogen starred together in an animated project where Simmons plays the antagonist and Rogen plays the supporting character, I'd have two nickels - which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice... EDIT: Stop writing about Chip n Dale. The movie didn't exist when I wrote this comment. Neither did I know about the cast. I am not adding Chip n Dale into the list. I don't care about the movie.
I have never seen so much expression in a single eye in my life that can give so much depth to a character that has barely even 6 minutes of screentime.
Is no one else questioning why the alien race is using the Earth's english alphabet? I could understand if telepathy came with translation, but E or U is getting specific.
I´ve never been a fan of Seth Rogen in part because he basically plays himself in like 98% of the movies he´s been in, but he´s actually quite brilliant in here.
“Welp. Sucks to be you, then.” “Where else do you keep your brain?” “…what is high school?” I love him. I LOVE him. I LOVE HIM. Edit: “You biclops all look the same to me.” “Hoooly shit, you’re a Viltrumite?” “On my planet, a sock on the door means somebody’s fucking.” I still love him.
I love the symmetry and progression that occurs in how these scenes are composed. In the first encounter, when Invincible is outmatched by Allen, when they sit down, Allen pulls up a rock for himself and a smaller rock for Invincible, looking down on him. Then in the next encounter, Invincible pulls up a rock for Allen that is the same size and they sit eye(s) to eye. It is good symbolism to show how far Mark has progressed during the season, from ignorance to familiarity with the ugly truth. I hope the next season keeps up the stellar quality of the first.
“The fact it’s just a small part of something larger makes it all seems more manageable” Don’t worry about that Mark, soon enough, things are gonna get even crazier
@@WhiteWhistleBondrewd exactly, killing or permanently injuring the champion of a planet would be a dick move, specially if they are not strong enough to protect their planet already XD
4:00 given how Allen’s people rebelled against the Viltrumites, I can assume Omniman’s envisioned route for Earth, to “end wars and share technology with the Viltrumites,” is just a sugarcoated way to say “oppression.” I like to know how exactly the Viltrumites treat their conquered territories.
Some details that go unnoticed in the fight are Allens remark on the moon and hitting Mark towards the planet after he knocked the air out of him, they show him trying to help his presummed test taker pass his test and give pointers on fights to make him a better fighter against a real invader, remember hes here evaluating "Uraths" defender.
I don't know who Allen is based on but the alien heroes/anti heroes I can think of that Allen is based on are Martian Manhunter,Lobo,Howard the Duck, and Drax the Destroyer.
Omni man and Cecil are the two dislikes Confirmed, either Cecil got rid of the dislike button or Omni Man straight up killed it. And now no one will ever know.
@2:32 You know, different places might have different names for planets Even here on Earth, it’s called many names in different cultures and languages. Thus, I’m sure Allen got the right one, just a different transliteration of the name Urath 🤓
