@@navyseal1689 I wouldint say irrelevant cause he’s not immortal he just has a significantly longer life span so 20 years to him could be like a month in her perspective
1:20 it was interesting to see just how much Nolan's sense of time is different to everyone else's given his long lifetime. His entire time on Earth must feel like just a weekend away in the whole grand scheme of things.
Which doesn’t make sense when people talk about living forever they say the days add up more and more. Time seems longer not shorter. That’s true to anyone who never looks at a time too. They can live 5 years and it’ll give the impression they were there 20 years
I mean, nolan doesn’t particularly care. Dude was just struttin around in his superhero long johns while amber was in the house. Oh and he doesn’t wear a mask anyway.
@@lughtube5596 was being sarcastic So many comments nowerdays are just the exact thing everyone has already watched in the video And somehow will still get hundreds of likes
@@siats142 It literally does. Dialogue is extended unnaturally or shorted unnaturally in order to fit another language's lip flaps. To produce emotion whole tryin to keep to lip flips is harder than just regular voice acting
The way Nolan refers to 20 years still kind of makes my jaw drop, honestly the closest thing I can compare it to is like an 80 year explaining their perception of time to an 8 year old, at 8 a week feels significant, but at 80, a year might give the same feeling
I just noticed it now, but the "Our first date was 20 years ago" scene kind of foreshadows the "what will you have in 500 years?" speech as it shows how Nolan perceives time. It could just be a "Nolan being a family man" moment, but it *does* match up.
I swear this show is amazing. At times it'll make you cry with its incredibly emotional lines , other times it'll traumatize you with the brutal murders, and the other times, you are howling with laughter. Holy shit Invincible is something else.
Assuming they live to be 10,000 or something, it was closer to 2 weeks, like imagine talking about something that happened two weeks ago and somebody talks like it was a lifetime ago.
@@melonlord2851 One of my favourites is when Nolan goes to the Flaxan dimension and his first line is "You don't seem to understand. Earth isn't yours to conquer." when we first hear it, it sounds badass, like he's protective of Earth, but when the truth comes out in Episode 7/8 it's got a whole other meaning. Cool af
I rewatched just the first two episodes after finishing the comic series. There are *soooo* many subtle hints. Hearing Eve talk shit about the lizard league being small-time villians especially stood out to me.
1:34 I haven’t watched this scene in months, I came back and watched it again and it still made me laugh my ass off, I just love how Nolan casually drops the man
I love when Nolan is just a dad. That's fun. You can see he isn't just acting with constant evil below his surface... He really is just that dad. Sad he has another personality when it calls for it.
@@StridingLuna I read the TPB's, which are a collection of the 144 chapters one 25 books, I am on the 24th book, and I don't get what you mean by "the important ones"
The hints for Nolan to be of an incredibly long lived species was not hinted, it was clearly put foward. There is a part where they show family pictures and you can see them from around 20 years ago. Nolan's has the same grey sides.
@@icarofilho6524 Yeah, but that just means he was on that planet massacring (is that how you spell it?) the aliens for MONTHS. When he got back to Earth though, he was just a little late for dinner, and the experience didn't have any impact on him whatsoever. Scary stuff
1:13 - 1:26 Typical midlife drama. I swear to God, middle aged people, especially men, overestimate their maturity. Elderly people are great, but middle aged people suck. It's adolescence again but cringier.
@@scottmatheson3346 Yes, but middle-aged people even more. All the shit we hate teenagers for? Middle age is the reincarnation of it. And I notice especially nowadays, 30s and 40s dress and act like middle-school jocks. They be having kids out of wedlock, their partner isn't the blood parent of their kids, they treat their kids like younger siblings, etc. And let's not forget the nostalgia culture. They literally overreact to kids not knowing vintage shit from 15+ years ago. Yet they themselves don't know shit from their parents/grandparents' heyday
Let's assume Nolan told the guy Marks full name and adress, what's the guy going to do? Run to the media to rat on Omni-Mans son? He would be on the shitlist of the 2 most powerful people on the planet. I don't care how confident you are they won't kill you, people who go around making enemies like that die pretty quick.
OKAY IF ANYONE DESERVES THE BEATING THE CHILD AWARD ITS REX HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW IF SHE WAS A HERO BEFOFE PUNCHING HER YET NO ONE SAYS SHIT FRICK ALL THESE PEOPLE I AINT EVER LETTING THAT DOWN
We can't forget the god tier "Paint cost money and you got a long ass name" "Undergrad in sociology and women's studies. I had a minor in african dance" "Mhm mhm mhm" "Everytime the emperor of mars look to the advisor and he just shrug his shoulders" And the king of all known existence: Allen
That moment where Nolan mistakes their first date as being a few years ago and not TWENTY years ago is actually great foreshadowing and a major red flag
@starwarsislife7374 he was floating to leave no evidence of his presence. And personally, I love how when he flies he's at a perfect stand still. He's able to push off of anything without breaking his perfect balance. Scary af
1:20 I like how she said "because you were a dick". this foreshadows how nolan had to learn how to be human. As before the date, he still acted like his own self.
After William let half of his burger fall into the bag, the rest was a storm of shit. Beginning with the fact that he didn't even bother to take the burger out of the bag and put it back together before he ate the cheese and the thing I just can't find an approptiate phrasing for.
@@nettaatzili1936 I don't think they meant it was *_inappropriate,_* just that they couldn't find apt enough words for it. Y'know, the *_appropriate_* words for the situation, like the definition of the *_word,_* not the inverse of its anonym.
Funnily enough this same threat was Fulfiled in one Discworld book way before Invincible. A troll mobster (Discworld trolls are made of rock) asked a police chief if he wouldn't like some nice gravel to pave his yard. Incidentally a troll who worked for the mobster made some... threats at the chief earlier in the story, threats the mobster strongly disapproved of because he wanted to say on chief's good side.
I almost forgot about this too, him saying all that caught me off guard “Oh that’s a tad personal” I like how the dude who controlled those cyborgs didn’t criticize any of what he said
This reminds me of an old animation i saw on nintendo where people uploaded animations, i didnt know english back them but i still remember the lines "what the fuc- UUAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" after rhe fuc- a head shoots a beam out of their mouth, just a ramdon memory that pop on my head when i clicked this and listened to what the character said .-.
I like how Omni Man says "our first date was a few years ago" because since he is thousands of years old he thinks 20 years is 1% of how much he's lived.
The way omniman just goes "...oh." when she says it was 20 years ago. Feels like a little bit of foreshadowing on how they live so much longer than humans. I love it
1:17 i just noticed that little detail of Omni man viewing 20 years as a few years because of his slower age ability (500 Likes?! Damn Ty!) (850?! Sheesh) ( 1k.... Bro what?! Ty!)
And for about 20 years he lived on Earth, which places greater emphasis on smaller amounts of time, so he tried to use a human's sense of time to determine the quantity of time his natural clock felt had passed relative to his entire life, which is very long
