All teams had their own design of cars unlike these days. All cars looked beautiful that year. Nothing more to say about the sound, Marussia was especially loud with the cosworth engine.

@@carsismyaddiction6919 lol. 1998-2008 more clean and pure in all forms. With or without aero. 2009 with short base and big height of rear wing is parody.
9:20 That was brilliant. Look the straight before the two drs zone in the lap when Fernando pass Hamilton. Hamilton brake the car the moment before the line of drs detection trying pass it after Alonso and Fernando saw it and brake too for having him the drs. Both pilots are really clever.
The camera work on the cars here is beautiful compared to today somehow. The placement of the cameras here and the more static positions really give a better sense of the sheer speed of the cars compared to nowadays which look slower despite being faster. Its a shame really
@@harrisonbrand8985 it isn't the most modern logo, but it was way ahead of its time with the minimalist, clean design Plus you could clearly read F1, the new logo looks funky. They wanted a futuristic look, but it just looks weird to me, not ugly per se, but it could be better.
It's far better than today's logo. When I look at this logo, I clearly see F1, when I look at today's logo, I have to keep looking at it for a bit to see it says F1
He's leading by 15 seconds... He slows down on the last lap dude. He had a car advantage of at least .3 sec a lap in the race and .5 sec a lap in qualifying.
Yer, he was certainly very good at winning in the best car. That all came to a some-what grinding halt in 2014 when he was beaten by the new boy Ricciardo and, no more WDC's since 2013 ... the last 2-3 years, often driving like a complete novice, running into walls, into other drivers and sometimes, just falling off the road for no reason at all.
@@justincase5124 Well had it not been for that unfortunate 'slip in the wet' by Webber in Korea 2010, Webber would likely have been WDC that year. But for sure, Vettel was treated like a prince at Red Bull. However the true test of nature came afterwards, and what has Vettel achieved? Nothing. They all thought it would be a 'Schumacher-esk' fairytale when Vettel went across to Ferrari, but they realised he was just a 'driver' (not a developer and genius like Schumacher was). Heck, even Ricciardo got the better of him in 2014, and you'd think even if the car wasn't as good as its predecessors, all that Red Bull gave to Vettel, you'd think he could have extracted more from the car .. being a 4x WDC and all!
I think the fact that Alonso hasn't won a title since 2006 is probably a good enough reason to write him off. He hasn't had a podium since god knows when. He acted like a twat at McLaren, went to Ferrari and achieved bugger all apart from a few race wins and has done sod all since he left Ferrari. I know that he has had bad cars for a number of seasons, but he chose to sign with those teams so it can hardly be blamed on anyone else.
@@calibrazxr750 if taking the 4th fastest car on the grid to a title decider in the last race and 2nd in the Championship is achieving "bugger all" by your standards then I don't think even Michael Schumacher or Lewis Hamilton fit your "good"

@@oscarynata6911 Talking to yourself again? You should get that checked out. While you're at it, check out the 2004 Formula 1 season. Jarno Trulli beat Alonso that season, 46 to 45 points, before Jarno left to Toyota for the final 2 races. Yikes. OVERRATED ALONSO.
@@ciaronsmith4995 its like saying "button beat one time Hamilton in mclaren hahahaha Hamilton overrated" obv ham is not overrated, he just had a bad season, same for Alonso, bad season, trulli won Alonso, but then Alonso won 2 wc against raikonen and Michael. Saying a driver is overrated bc one time a mate won him is just stupid, but anyway, u have to be a ham fan xd
@@oscarynata6911 I agree with this. But you also have to agree that saying a driver is the best of all time just because he drives the most dominant car in history of F1 is just as stupid.
@Jonas Jonaitis exactly. But those fanboys will never learn. Just look at this video at 3:28, Hamilton is so nervous seeing Alonso behind him, he takes it on his racing engineer.
@@SURGASURGE12 i dont agree, now they are too fat and large and the halo also is really ugly, f1 cars have always been small, thin and of light weight givin a more agressive image and also benefiting more entertaining racing and race craft, and F1 has been very critisied of that during recent years by loyal f1 fans(except for the halo which is a safett device), for example, the F2 cars i find them more attractive
These races were extremely fun to watch. The engine sound is mesmerizing. The cars could follow each other so close for such a long time. The camera view is so stable. When did we loose all this?
I like those camera' s angles too. Today F1 feels like a movie or something scripted. I dont know how explain, but in that recent past the show looks way more realistic and real: the pilots could express their personalites and emotions, the teams had more personality. Idk, but all looked so much better.
LOL no he didn’t, it was the FIA and the stupid tire rule in 2005 that stopped Schumi, trust me had that rule not come into play Schumacher would’ve taken the 2005 title without a doubt, Alonso is one of the best but it’s simply not the case

That contact at the 10:00 mark is classic LH. No need to touch the left rear of Alonso but LH does it all of the time to other F1 competitors. LH is dirty racer.
are you an idiot? look at alonso coming back while alongside he should completely be ahead before coming back in, both did the same thing lewis going out and alonso coming in but somehow its lewis's fault? go cry to your mom
That's because LH had a faster car than Alonso from 2010 to 2013. And then from 2014 onward. But at the end of the 2010 season Alonso beat him fair and square, even though he had a slower car. And 2011. And 2012. And 2013. All he needed is a car that is even slightly competitive.
@@cinegraphics not even close. Alonso only had a weaker car than Hamilton in 2011. And even then Mclarne and Ferrari were pretty much neck n neck. In 2010 Ferrari handily outdeveloped Mclaren from Silverstone onwards. In 2012 Ferrari was definitely the better package when you look at race pace/tyre deg/ reliability/ team operation. In 2013 the Ferrari was miles better than the Merc in race trim. Not to mention how Hamilton had proper teammates to fight against (Button, Rosberg) whilst Alonso had a wingman and a team focused solely on him. Plus Alonso was at his prime around that time, 2012 was his 12th season, whilst it only was Hamiltons 6th. In his 6th season Alonso was losing to a rookie in the same car.
@@ksfreestylers1146 okay, I re-checked all the races in all those 4 seasons. So let's correct your alternative facts with the real ones: - in 2010 McLaren and Ferrari were constantly exchanging in positions and lap times. They were approximately the same. But Fernando outclassed LH. - in 2011 McLaren was a lot faster than Ferrari. But Fernando was still better. - in 2012 McLaren was a lot faster in 80% of the races, except in a few races mid season. Still Fernando outclassed both McLaren drivers. - in 2013 Mercedes was a lot faster in about 60% of the races, and slightly faster in about 30%. Ferrari had a chance on just a few tracks. Still, Alonso outclassed LH. It just shows that without having absolutely the best LH shows nothing. He wins a few races, but he lacks consistency to win entire season.
@@cinegraphics the fact that you needed to "recheck the races" tells it all really. And no you literally got 0/4. 1) 2010. How exactly did Alonso outclass Hamilton in 2010? Alonso had the better car for most of the year AND a wingman alongside him yet he only finished like 8 points ahead of Hamilton who had the reigning champion alongside him for good measure. 2) In 2012 if you correct reliability for Vettel Hamilton and Alonso you will find out that Hamilton wins the title comfortably. Ferrari cearly had a great car, Massa(who had a bad season) almost outscored Alonso in the second half of the season and scored more points than both Hamilton and Webber....Not to mwntion how Ferrari had far better tyre deg than Mclaren which made hge difference in the races. 3) You are absolutely delusional if actually believe the Mercedes was anywhere near Ferrari in race pace in 2013. Mercs were good in quali but they were famously going backwards every race pretty much. The fact that you talk about consitentcy is quite funny because Hamilton was more consistent than Alonso in 2007 driving the exact same car. All in all, you said your "ham can only win in the best car" nonsense. (funnily enough Hamilton has won 3 titles without the best car and even Alonso said Lewis is the only driver that can win in bad cars). Alonso is the one that showed he cant do shit when he is up against good driver sin the same car. He lost to Trulli in 2004, he lost to rookie Hmailton in 2007, he lost to Button in 2015. When he is up against strong competition he gets exposed. In Ferrari he was in his comfort zone, he had his wingman and his entire team around him, something that Hamilton didnt have. Hamitlon vs Alonso in the same car = 1-0 and thats what really matters.
Amazing overhead shots shows the ebb and flow, awesome! Edit after 2 years, watched again just after Australia 2024 and in the context of the Russel incident and penalty seeing Hamilton and Alonso race with differing lines and trying to compromise each other but both being aware of the others "game" and reacting accordingly makes me sad to see the penalty given to Alonso.
The new engines are fine but these just were so cool. People who didn't see them live don't realise how loud they were. They sound the same on TV because they turn up the volume dial for the broadcast.
Yeah for sure. I can't assess todays' V6 engine as I haven't experienced it, but when the V8 passed by, the whole ground and grandstand seats rumbled and the vibration into the body was something else. You can't forget the experience even after a decade.😎😎😎

@@michamarczuk1420 that’s exactly the point. How can something be nice if we already know who’s winning? That’s why for example the Bundesliga is the worst league of Europe, we already know bayern will win, just like Mercedes will win this year again
In my own personal opinion, Alonso is a better driver than Hamilton, but Hamilton is definitely NOT "bad" or unskilled...the dude is a remarkable driver but Alonso when given a car of equal ability or close to, will win more than not. Alonso's issues have been the cars he kept getting, they werent as good. 2023 looks like he might start showing people what he can really do again as the AM car seems quite competitive this year so far.
Como sempre na 63 lap, Hamilton sempre espalhando na curva. Ele não tem culpa. Se alonso não recolhe, a FIA iria dizer que foi normal. Muito mais seguro, numa reta. Parabéns Alonso!
You can visually see how the handling characteristics of this generation of cars were both massively more difficult and massively more rewarding. You can also visualize just how loose that mercedes is compared to the Ferraris, as has always been said about Hamilton and Alonso’s respective driving styles.
@@valerierodger7700 I mean, Webber was seriously bad in 2013. He should have won some races in a car that good, but He won 0 while Vettel won 13, pretty embarassing if you ask me.
@@valerierodger7700 Yeah I know and I basically agree with you, but it still was bad. Webber didn't even finish P2 in by far the best car of the season. Of course he also had good years, like 2010, I don't want to deny that.
It's for better traction and allowing the DRS to do its work, thus enabling an overtake at the end of a straight where he shifts normal again instead of going to fast and having to pass in the middle part of the straight (not ideal). It's called short shifting, Kimi does it all the time
