@@perpetualmotion2179 let me rephrase that the best in MY WORLD I don’t have genelec money lol 😂 but either way I love focal if I was going to buy genelec I rather buy the more expensive focal one or barefoot ones
I just got a pair for 500 euros new..you are right..they are amazing... but got to fix my room a little because of bass being behind me and not at my sitting position... got the 50s also to try and same bass issues but less ..still amazing with less lows... I would like to know about the lack of volume controls as i cant find info anywhere... are these monitors on full volume all the time or do they adjust somehow themselves....
@@steve5662 I installed a Behringer Studio XL for all 3 sets of monitors, Avantone, HS's and the Focals. Works well as you can balance the volume of each set with the Trim controls (top right on the unit.) :)
@@fantaztikbeatz they've been great. They sound great and translate my mixes better than any of the monitors I had in the past and I've tried them all for extended periods of time.
Hi there! So you think they are definitely better than the original Alphas? I noticed the Evos are Class D, unlike the original Alphas which are Class AB. Does this noticeably affect the sound quality? I was under the impression Class AB is superior and creates higher fidelity, hence why more expensive monitors all seem to be AB? The Alpha Evo 50s are also 50w as opposed to the Alpha 50s which are 55w, and also Alpha Evo 50 maximum SPL is 101db as opposed to Alpha 50s maximum SPL OF 103db? I'm torn as to which to purchase. Please help!
Here in the 21st century, technology advancements move quickly. Class D amplification has seen rapid advancements over the past decade and has since reached a point where you'd be hard pressed to actually hear a difference between an AB and D unless you were measuring it or in an anechoic chamber with some really great ears.
Can I use one audio interface with the XLR connection and other audio interface with the TRS connection? (not running at the same time, but kepping the cables connected)
So these french guys could take a polished american spoke man, but they insisted on breaking their balls speaking English. I dig that! It tells me that they take pride in their job and will not have anyone else sing its praise.
Hello everyone! I just bought a pair of Alpha's Evo 65 and one of the monitors makes an audible "pop" everytime I turn the switch on/off. Does this happen to anyone else? And most important, why it happens? I've read some reviews of old Alpha's owners and they have had the same problem. Thank you!
Yup same here. It's normal for the operation of the circuit when powering off. Some muting circuits seem to work poorly depending on when the switch is flipped, as if they don't agree with power being interrupted when the wave is at peak voltage. There is energy stored in the capacitors of any amplifier, which causes a back-EMF when the circuit is cut, much like when you turn off a fluorescent light; sometimes you see a spark at the switch. Any transient tends to make its way to the speaker, causing a pop.The monitors should be the last things turned on and the first things turned off when shutting down or starting up your audio system. Just the way most monitors are designed, really.. Monitors should be 'Last On, First Off" in your startup/shutdown sequence when firing up your studio.
Tu as pensé à consulter un ORL ?
Connect them via XLR, and purify the current feed (even UPS would do the job) and the hum should be eliminated. This pretty much applies for any monitor with Class D amplification.
Could be an electrical problem in your home(i.e.,home not wired correctly,or your outlets are overloaded & drawing more power than what the outlets are rated for.) Possibly a power conditioner unit, might solve your problem.
You may be right, but as far as I remember, I connected these monitors in another apartment without any sound source and there was quite a loud noise ... I never connected monitors with XLR cable, only TRS ... Maybe connecting via XLR as mentioned in the comment above would help. ..
@@mattmin45 No ! you wrong ! I used alphas with asymetric cables (inch and xlr). Now i have high end symetric xlr cables. The sound has always been nice. I just won clarity. And in xlr the sound is lower( around -10dB). I used Cordial and now i use Vovox cables.
im kinda konfused about the sizes of monitor speakers. i feel like this guy is tiny, but i guess the speakers are kinda big. you should put a banana or something next to it, im not sure if this fits into my room q_q
The highs are muted and in the background. The low end is solid and tight, the mids are incredible. But the highs are not bright and present in the mix. I decided not to buy.
LMAO that french accent while talking English -_- Franchement j'admire l'effort mais les gars c'est abusé l'accent fr même moi j'ai pas un accent français aussi abusé quand je parle anglais ^^
