See an unboxing and overview of the Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack. I show you the contents, go over some basics, and provide an intro to the next video which is the detailed installation of the power pack in my 2017 WRX.
CORRECTION: The wire I show here: • Alpine KTP-445U Unboxi... is the actual accessory 12V input to the amp. The blue wire on the other connector is the remote turn on for another amp.

Getting info on these videos the retailers never show. Was wondering where the filter controls were. They would only show the gain. Great video

Actually the blue remote wire with the RCA cables will hook up to the radio. Yhis turns on the amp. The other ones located with the speaker wires is the one that goes to an add-on amp.

My question is will this add an additional 45 watts to each speaker on top of the 18 watts per speaker my CD player pushes out it sais 50 by 4 but it only puts 18 watts per channel

I have a 2019 GMC Canyon base (the smaller extended cab) with the 7" headunit - 2 tweeters and 4 door speakers. I do not know the power output of the stock headunit and looking into the speaker grill - they look like basic standard speakers (although, I am not sure if they are, or if GM uses the same speakers on their Bose system, which has a Bose amplifier (same size as this Alpine) and one additional 3.5" center speaker. I am very much on the fence with going with this amp+stock speakers, just adding four kicker door speakers, adding this amp and four kicker speakers. It's a 3 year lease, which I got a month ago. I do not want to spend a million dollars, but the radio is missing something. I have a Rockford Fosgate P300-10 with all the wiring, which was removed before I turned back my old Subaru Crosstrek, so I am planning on adding that into the truck right before my driver's seat in the footwell, since the rear seats are extremely useless for people to sit on them.

I installed one of these with w new Alpine iLX-F259 and get some noticeable hissing. Especially when hearing vocal sounds.

Can I use the negative of the head unit to ground the amplifier? Or should I ground direct to the chassi?

Just two more questions: In case I use this amp in bridge mode (90W/CH) with a 60W RMS 2-way component speaker (woofer + crossover + tweeter), would that be too much power for a 60W RMS speaker, even if I dont use the max volume. If not, what would be the configuration of the HPF switches (front and rear) that you show on the 1:57? Can you help me please? =) By the way great video. TKS

It's been years since I did a amplifier installation, This may sound like a dumb question but if I'm using the RCA inputs Do my head unit speaker wires need to be connected to any thing?

@@akqjtn ok so the RCA's go hooked up to the back of the new head unit and the other end of the amplifier wires go hooked up to the cars main harness speaker wires. Got it. One more question since this amplifier gives the option to use speaker wires or RCA's for the installation , what has better signal RCA or the speaker wire? Thanks again

@@akqjtn cool thanks I have a 2018 Chevrolet Express and it needs the idatalink maestro module the entire dash had to be removed lol trying to do it right so I don't have to remove it again at a later date. Thanks

Does anyone know if it's worth it me getting the KTP-445U since it's 45 Watts x 4 @ 4Ω/2Ω and the stereo I'm using is the JVC KW-V340BT with built-in internal amp (22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels) not sure how the peak and RMS work ?

This is not fused; that little box on the yellow wire is a noise filter.

In this context it means the radio module itself, i.e., the sound / signal source in the vehicle, whether stock or aftermarket. It is common, standard terminology. We learn something new everyday, yes?

CONFUSED, CRUTCHFIELD SAYS THE BLUE WIRE BY THE RCA'S IS THE ONE YOU CONNECT TO THE AFTERMAKET RADIO, THE BLUE WIRE ON THE OTHER END IS THE ONE THAT WORKS FOR OTHER AMPS... ???
