Thank you for your demonstration. Your knowledge of this machine's capabilities is comprehensive and you clearly know the machine well and I definitely learned about the sewing feet and got the information I came for. I recently upgraded and bought this beautiful machine second hand and luckily, barely used and so I didn't have the luxury of any instore demonstrations and to be honest, I am quite lazy when it comes to reading the manual, I just need someone to show me! However, I have to comment on the over all impression of the video as I found some things quite frustrating. Working in collaboration with your camera operator, you need to decide when to do a wide or close camera angle; waving the camera about while the autofocus is trying to catch up does not lend itself to easy viewing for the audience and I wanted to continue watching but give up at the same time. You either need a fixed camera position and bring the items closer to the camera to demonstrate fine details or slow your hand movements down and wait for the camera operator to pan over to your hands so they can zoom in on the accessories and details of the items you are demonstrating. My appreciation of your experience and sewing expertise is something that I can only aspire for now and I am enjoying my learning journey. Good luck with your next video.

Sparrow57...any issues with the thread coming out of the takeup lever? I see this happened during this video. Was thinking of buying this machine but see there’s been some issues with this...
@sparrow5751
@sparrow5751 3 года назад
@@robinkinley6851 I haven't experienced this yet, except on my Janome 525s when it happens constantly if I haven't cut my thread long enough after sewing. I would suggest that you always turn the handwheel towards you to lower the needle into your fabric before you start sewing and even press the needle up/down button once. Two things achieved...you're starting your line of stitches in exactly the right place (essential if you're a fabric piecer like me) and you are locking your thread into the fabric. Hopefully, this should cure the problem. I usually use the auto thread cutter too which I LOVE. Good luck

Noticed that you had a couple of instances when your needle became unthreaded. I’ve also had this problem and always the thread comes out of threading guide 6. Wondering why. Happens often and then usually there’s a nest of thread to release. But, this machine is a beauty. Enjoyed your presentation.

I have the same machine…my guess is that for the takeup lever (threading area #6) there’s an an initial opening but still has to be pulled up that to the front part of the lever. Then it stays put. A design flaw, to me. Never had this happen on my other machines, and I’ve been sewing over 50 years. I do like the pop out needle plates and the lock button but have yet to find a good foot for topstitching binding…

I know that Janome recommends using “J” bobbins … but I’d love to use pre wound bobbins … would this be an issue with this model (Memory Craft 6700P)?

Yes. Call our sewing dept. We always have specials too low to advertise prices. Inquire about having your machine shipped too. You can also email stephanie@alwaysinstitches1.com as well. We have an entire fleet of sewing machines to fit anyone's needs.

What attachment do you recommend for sewing on binding??
@alwaysinstitches5388

binding foot or a quilt binder set

Unfortunately, your camera person has very shaky hands and you don't hold the fabric steady therefore I could not see clearly any of the machine's "beautiful stitches"!

excellent presentation but the repeated clearing of throat made it difficult to listen to you. Perhaps wait to film until your phlegm has cleared.
