Toxic-Masculinity sounds like Anti-Semitic, both are way over used and for no reason at all. Thanks to Shannon and his platform I actually got the chance to view who Amanda Seales is as a person. She impressed me more than she didn't..... She is wildly verbose and extremely intelligent. You can take her or leave her. All these attacks on Shannon is incredibly ridiculous. As far as Autism Spectrum Disorder, she was never clinically diagnosed of having ASD, so what are we talking about here?

I think she was able to get across her ideals and opinions. She is very talkative, and she was able to express herself. She is a handful, but I like her, and I thank him for giving her the space so we could all get to know her. I think he did a good job. He may not be perfect, but he let her shine... Like no other. He may not intellectually be on her level... But he gave her space to speak even when he may not have agreed. I thought it was pretty good, but I also feel that she may blame incidents on other people, when it may be more to it. And be careful about always playing the race card in situations between black and white, color may not always be the issue.

Amanda researched this program and was aware of Shannon's style. Why would she enter this space? She knew exactly what she was doing. Amanda is a West Indian. Study her family history and culture. She plays the race card to garner sympathy from African Americans. She is not African American. Her privileges were on full display. I know these people. Think of the party scene: any normal person would walk away and call it a day. Amanda could not believe that this white woman (what does her race have to do with anything?) turned her away from the party. It was an affront to her privileges. Don't be fooled!

The issues in this interview or conversation was more generational than it was intellectual. Shannon's questions seemed to try to give Amanda another perspective to make her possibly see her interactions in a different light. I think he tried to make the conversation not about racial divides. The problem with that is, Amanda is expressing her truth and what she saw not what a 55 year old southern guy thinks it maybe. Its allowed. There is nothing wrong with it. The reason children need to and should be tested is so they can get the proper help they need. They have early intervention therapies among many other programs that you can get to support your child if they do happen to have Autisim. That is the only reason, as an adult there will be many instances where your differences to others can come into stark relief and encourage you to maybe see if you may be Austistic, so diagnosing oneself is not frowned upon. The reason that the interview with Katt Williams was so well received , was because he just let Katt talk and Katt has such an inviting way of bringing you in as he tells a story , that time went by and we were thoroughly entertained(I also noticed he didn't give him too much push back, he laughed most of the time.) With Amanda, he tried to be more engaged, but I felt like he was antagonistic because he clearly was out of his depth on many fronts. At times, I just had my hand over my mouth. SS’s show is about having a conversation. How he behaved with her is how he behaves with his guests in general. Amanda is intelligent but lacks in accountability. She asked to be on his platform bc she felt like she could verbal talk circles around him and then use her favorite line of not being protected. Black women are often left unprotected but I feel like she’s being manipulative bc she doesn’t get desired results. In every story it’s ALWAYS someone else attacking her. SERIOUSLY? Is there any conflict between having high emotional intelligence and being incapable of reading social cues or can these coexist, both of which Amanda claimed for herself? I have encountered several people (children and adults) on the autism spectrum from nonverbal to highly functioning (e.g.brilliant lawyer) but no control over emotions (i e. throwing full blown tantrums as an adult). Obviously not the full variety within the spectrum, but somewhat representative of the range. Given her claim to high emotional intelligence, i am surprised she could not direct/manipulate Shannon to serve her image better, particularly as you note his limited skills. Just my observation. He clearly wanted it to be all organic, what exactly is there to prep for if he's allowing her to say whatever she wants? That's the beauty of his platform. Why try to shame a person who doesn't have full understanding of what someone else that does? I'm all for misunderstandings, but a lot of people don't ask the right questions. And why not get an official diagnoses if you have the money? A good bit of people go undiagnosed because they may lack insurance or resources to do so, but Amanda communicated that she looked into it, yet couldn't at least say she was in middle of being officially diagnosed. I'm all for standing up for oneself. But standing up for someone doesn't mean you cant understand all parties involved. At a certain point, you are in fact intelligent enough to ask the right questions to understand "why they hate me for no reason". She told on herself when she thought it would be ok to call someone she didn't know a "nigga" because they use nigga on the show. No one is saying she's evil, just choosing ignorance, to think there's no way possible something can be taken the wrong way. I've grown up with plenty of BS and misunderstandings of my character and I can easily imagine why people, who don't know me, would not like me. All she said was because "she is great." we all know if a guy says this he'd be called "arrogant" so fast. Again, the journalist take isn't great. I disagree. One could easily argue that if Sharpe behaved more like a journalist, there would actually be gaslighting and manipulation happening. All Sharpe did was ask to clarify. A journalist and darn near a detective and the goal is to get the interviewee to talk about what the network told you to get them to talk about. Sharpe platform isn't that. Both were unnecessary because he respectfully and kindly offered a different perspective about adults and children. A very valid and reasonable perspective. Yet it triggered her. She doesn’t like hearing other perspectives and it showed when she, in other words, told him not to question her because she’s an expert and scholar. When in actuality, she has not met any criteria that would qualify her for either, just like she said she was diagnosed with ASD…by herself. She said her dad was a narcissist but she didn’t claim that for herself like she did with his brilliance and intelligence. Her teacher praised her on her grades and art and only complained about Amanda correcting her. Very valid and common complaint and very non-racist of her to say nice things about Amanda. Why act like you dont understand "Why people don't believe something" without certified evidence? Most of society is based on providing evidence of claims. Why we acting like being diagnosed isn't anything different than not being diagnosed? One would get MORE resources while the other would have LESS resources to deal with this condition.
@Innerchild.Whisperer

@@DameionDismuke I would have to disagree on they part one gets more resources than the other. That’s subjective. Some could say google is a resource while other would say a therapist, psychiatrist, etc is a resource. There are so many resources out there.
@DameionDismuke
@DameionDismuke 12 дней назад
@@Innerchild.Whisperer I was speaking objectively. Most places will not allow certain resources to be accessed if one does not have an "official" diagnosis. Why? for liability reasons, such as getting sued because they gave a resource that wasn't "approved" by certified professionals. Selfdiagnose can "use" as many resources, but it's still blind and reckless because not everything can be found via Google, etc. Some resources are locked behind university memberships and private facility accesses. But the fairest question of everything, "If Amanda knows she wants people to understand and to acknowledge her plight AND she knows that one CAN go get tested to be officially diagnosed, why hasn't she used her power/resources to go get officially diagnosed to shut down any possible doubt?" Why say someone is gaslighting for suggesting that some people need evidence to understand? Why say "you don't know why people misunderstand you" if you literally choose not to present the very evidence that would help everyone understand?

And you're somebody's counselor🤦🏽‍♂️Example, by Amanda's own admission she was a difficult child to deal with to THIS teacher. That same teacher praised her3x but as soon as she complained about something Amanda was doing, the teacher is racist. So Shannon's counter statement/argument was logical.

This wasn’t Shannon’s best conversation by far, but Amanda Seales was a victim in every story she shared. She appears to lack self awareness. Assuming a teacher is racist because the kid is a smartass is absurd. That story lack real depth in classifying that as racist. Then she threw in some other story about being accused of stealing. Sharpe asked her a direct question, were you clinically diagnosed and she said yes, there are clinical diagnoses. She wasn’t truthful in that interview, which cast doubt to me on other things she said. She has no idea why people don’t like her, and when given the opportunity to find out why people don’t like her, she was too immature to hear the feedback.

@@Innerchild.Whisperer, I have never heard of her until a couple weeks back when she was complaining about black media. I didn’t watch insecure so I’m not familiar with any of her work. Watching the interview is my introduction to her, you sound like a fan of hers and that’s cool. But when someone tells a story and they are victim in every single story shared, it’s raises a flag to me. Also, she asked Shannon for a hug after the teacher back and forth and the her being bullied at Disney. Then she went on her platform saying he was playing in her face. If that’s the case why ask for a hug? From this interview, I can see why black media doesn’t extend invites to her. She wants to be the smartest person in the room and when you pushback she uses all the buzz words against you. She said she has no idea why people don’t like her, when presented with the option to hear why a person doesn’t like her, she said it was the other person’s problem. That doesn’t sound like a person open for feedback. Also, I’m curious into how she protected Issa? It appears she has some childhood baggage that she hasn’t unpacked. Not having her dad in her life probably plays a huge part of her not feeling protected and I’m not sure she felt fully protected by her mother either, so now she’s move through life looking for protection. To say that Shannon needs to be tested is disrespectful and condescending. We all have room to learn new things. I can agree that Shannon was dismissive of her childhood experiences that she shared, but as an adult, every single problem and there seems to be a lot of them, she is never at fault.
