Lovely and elegant! You never cease to surprise and amaze with your unique and creative projects. And with inexpensive solutions! Thank you for another excellent tutorial!
Thank you, the only thing someone over here mentioned about a biro is it needing the air to get to it, so maybe inserting a thin dowel into the barrel would be a good idea, alternatively making a shorter one the length of the pen inner. Best of luck and Happy crafting 😊
Mmmm now I wonder if that idea would work with my fine crochet hooks?!!! I love crocheting but the finer hooks really hurt my hands. I was going to try polymer clay but this is just beautiful… love it
Great idea! I have the same problem and was recently investigating handle options to help, but this would be great because you can customise them to your own hands.
Yes so many uses and definitely worth a try, the only thing I’d say is how much the extra weight of the thicker barrel would effect the way you work, but worth a try if you have some resin. Best of luck, happy crafting ❤️

This is an awesome idea you came up with! I’ll have to try this. Those dip pens are so expensive, so this is a great way to have them without the high cost. Thanks for showing us your process, Sarah. Much appreciated. 😁👏🏻
They’re cool aren’t they, my dip pen holder was looking a bit worse for wear, so this is the result, being so easy to make they’re a winner, thank you for your lovely message ❤️😊
You might want to insert a pin into the mold for the bic pen style since you need air to get into the barrel, or it will stop flowing. But otherwise this is an awesome idea. From just a straw! Great.
Great advice, thanks, this one is still working, but yes Thank you, maybe inserting a thin dowel into the barrel would be a good idea, alternatively making a shorter one the length of the pen inner. Happy crafting 🤍😊
Thank you, enjoy having a go, lots of fun, just not the best idea with a biro, make sure if using a biro insert something for an air hole for the ink to flow 🖊
Thank you you’re welcome, simple fun and easy all what I like and saves money with my dip pens for sure. The biro not the greatest of ideas for air flow
Wow so many possibilities! I haven’t tried UV resin, I’ve heard of it but didn’t think I would have a use for it. This video has gotten me very interested in it now. Thank You for sharing 🙏🏻
I love all sorts of mediums to create with. It at the moment my 3d printer and epoxy resin are my favourite, so I am so excited to see you using these products as well. You are so creative and talented.
Thank you for sharing this. It helps me out of a tight spot - my husband and son both asked for pens, and the ones I made don't actually work, so I need to redo them. If I do it this way, it will work better. 😅
The dip pens work best, someone mentioned air needing to get into the barrel for a regular pen, if so, we could insert something longer into the end of the pen tag Ty could then be removed once the resin is cured, best of luck, do a test one first and see what you think, thanks 😊
Brilliant idea. Being disabled, I find pen those I can use. Now I know what and how can make my own and as I like. I believe, “Our World is a Shared Experience”… Remember, *_Life_* is *_Short_* so *_Live Long_* and *_Prosper_* 🖖…
@@RedRockingBird oh goody I can’t wait for them and my daughter does miniature rooms, remakes monster high dolls plus more. I make or repair jewellery out of broken pieces and I’m starting to think of art with them too plus help make tiny lamps ect for her rooms, its great fun and watching you is going to be very rewarding and helpful. Big bonus is i’ve been wanting to make resin things too but don’t know how to do so, then your channel popped up and I’m hooked. Thank you again 🙏❤️
Hi Wendy, thank you, yes air dry clay and resin projects all being experimented with here too, enjoy your projects and creative time, thanks for watching ☺️❤️
Will say "Hi" right here :D I love your pens. I diamond paint quite a bit and just love the different handmade pens that people create. Wondering if something like this would work for me. I do have a question...where did you get your large straw? This is something easy I can do as well as it looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for the vid!
Hi 👋 yes this would be great for that, if you have an end you can use. The straw is from a milkshake shop as they tend to be wider, definitely great fun, enjoy 😊
Using pen insert and sealing the end will end up in pen not writing very fast :( air is needed to ink flow down. It is better to put sth in to remove later and have a little hole in the end of pen. But this is great - I am using same for epoxy resin and my diamond painting tools :) (or could be used for crochets)
I really like the nib holders, but unless I’m missing something the nibs are permanently set in the resin, correct? The nibs won’t last forever and I hate the thought of the whole thing becoming useless after a while.
If able to cut the nib off (I’d use circular saw or hack saw) then the rest of the barrel can be reset once again in a straw and resin. I keep my bibs for ages upon ages so they’re still going strong and I love the look of them upright in a cute little pot 😊❤️
Live this idea. I have pen molds and came across cross a tip ofnusing straws to make them refillable but I can find straws to fit the refills or refills to fit the straws they are either too big or too small. Could cutting the straw lengthways help do you think?
This is so awesome. After you use the files and sand paper do you cover it with a small layer of resin again to get the shine back? Loved this video definitely subscribing to check out your others
Sarah where do i find a U V lamp like yours. I saw one on Amazon and it was 5.99 USD, but i dont know if its good enough. Is there a better brand maybe? Im getting the urge now to get the lamp and some resin. I have been watching your videos all night. Its now one in the morning. So goodnight. Thank you for all you teach.
Thank you for watching, good to hear you are enjoying. Craft ones aren’t expensive and for people that don’t have one you can leave for a bit longer in sun light to cure, this is where I get most resin supplies from: amzn.to/3jzB9FO if you scroll half way down the page you’ll see a few. Although the cheap one you’ve seen would probably be ok, just make sure it’s got a long enough cable etc. Best of luck and enjoy 😊❤️
Ive wanted to make resin candles and never thought of using a straw! Since mine arent thick enough, I'll cut a pepsi bottle and tape that together. Edit: don't use a big bottle; it won't work. It won't curl tight enough
