Tom is in his eighties and can still belt out a song. He is a unique individual in many ways. So gifted in ability, charisma and endurance. Extraordinary man.
Tom Jones - "I Won't Crumble With You If You Fall" on The Voice UK 2022. What he says before and after singing this song is heart-rending. By the way his rendition of the song is simply show-stopping. You will both love it.
Young Tom Jones - Green Green Grass of Home. Older Tom Jones - his cover of Prince's "Kiss" or his cover of the Talking Heads "Burning Down the House (With The Cardigans)
I love your reactions to Tom. I was in the seventh grade when his show came out and I was hooked. I would go to sleep every night playing his albums. Jay do not been bad for blushing!! My woman loved him too. Can't believe this man is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! What a shame!
@@brucelawrence4243 You're right,it is a bit of a melancholy song but it always reminds me of my home land (England),every time I hear it it brings back memories from my young days.
Hi Jay and Amber Greetings From England 🇬🇧 When Tom Jones Wife Linda Passed Away Tom recorded The Song " I Wont Crumble With You If You Fall" This is Such Beautiful and Heartfelt Song From Tom and a Loving Personal Song to The Memory of His Late Wife Linda and Even at 80yrs old Tom's Voice simply gets better with age and you really should listen to this song
I have such great memories of how much fun it was to watch the Tom Jones show as a kid in the late 60's early 70's. LOL. Mama was mesmerized. (Mom and sisters all watched it together) I grew up in an era of MUSIC! Folk, Blues, Jazz, World, Rock in one form or another it was all there, and we danced, partied and cried a little to it all!
I have been in love with Tom Jones and his music for over 50 years. My mom introduced me to his TV show when I was 8 or 9 years old. We used to watch it together, just her & I - no dad or brothers. He was my 2nd crush (1st was Underdog which I had outgrown by then) & his music has been with me my entire life. I saw him at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Oregon in the late 1990s. And yes, there were panties flying at him but I did not participate. Thank you for the reaction today & for every time you reacted to one of his songs. 💜
I was so lucky to see Tom Jones 4 days ago in concert in Perth Western Australia, his voice was absolutely amazing and for somebody who is 83 his energy was unbelievable.
Always enjoy your reactions to Tom Jones! I saw him in Las Vegas in 1980, yes, 1980. Believe it or not, we had seats right at the stage, it was a long table and my seat was at the stage, got to see him rather close up! I've never forgotten that show. I agree with others here, check out his performances on The Voice U.K. He could sing the alphabet and be fabulous.
"It's Not Unusual", "Green Green Grass Of Home", "I'll Never Fall In Love Again", "Help Yourself", "Till" are all early Tom Jones classics that you have yet to cover.
My wife and her mom got tickets to see Tom Jones in Naples, FL. I decided later I wanted to see him too. I sat by myself amongst all the women, what a show, glad I went.
This is a relatively obscure Tom Jones song. His first and biggest hit was 'It's Not Unusual'. "Without Love' and 'Help Yourself' were also big hits for him.
The first singer I'm aware of that was famous for his effect on the women in the crowd was your boy Frankie. When he was a youngster, they flocked around him like they did around Johnnie Fontane in the movie The Godfather.
Even in his 80's this man still has it. On the Voice UK where he is a judge he will occasionally let go with a song and it will just blow you away at the wonder of his power in that magnificent voice. At 80 folks!!!!!
The cadance of this song is reminiscent of Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers, but really Bobby Hatfield. But of course Tom Jones has a totally different type of voice and timbre. Very beautiful.
I have been fortunate enough to have seen Tom Jones in person several times. He is a phenomenal performer! You should check out "I'm Coming Home." It's a beautiful song and shows off his range of vocals. Thanks for reacting to him and glad you both love him.....❤❤❤❤❤
You mentioned Tom & Elvis how they effected women. Elvis & Tom were very good friends. When Tom first came to the US and was making music he was excited to meet Elvis. Elvis loved Tom's voice. They were friends ever since first meeting.
Here we go! I worked with a lady that threw her undies at Tom during a concert! No injuries reported! Such a powerhouse. "Unfair advantage"! Yes. Brilliant! Have you ever heard the song "Ebb Tide"? Something similar here maybe.Glad you dug it.
One of my favorite Tom Jones songs (so many to choose from)🙂 Check out "Only Once," "A Boy From Nowhere," and "Without Love." You won't be disappointed. Keep the reactions coming!
This has always been my favorite TJ song since I heard it at age 6, and I used to always sing it when I would frequent karaoke bars in the 90s. Needless to say, it never did me any harm with the ladies 😁
There is another Welsh man from the Valley's who is a brilliant singer very underrated as...David Alexander singing The answer to everything or a workman shows off his voice amazingly...
Jay And amber when Tom first met Elvis in 1965 Toms current hit record at that time was called WITH THESE HANDS and as Elvis walked towards Tom ELVIS was singing WITH THESE HANDS to him. You must listen and react to Toms WITH THESE HANDS.
I was a junior high kid when Tom had his TV show. Watched every week and it was always so good with wonderful guests. Tom can sing with anyone and can sing all types of music. Got to see him live years ago at the MGM Grand. He sounded just as good as he had in the 60's, sang all types of songs and even rapped. So so great.
I always love the story of Tom Jones singing "Thunderball" - the James Bond theme. He only ever recorded it once because he passed out singing/screaming the last note :) #epic
I'm so glad you guys steep yourselves in all this great music from my generation - it beats nearly anything from today. And many of the songs of today are just covers of these great songs.
One of my favorite songs of Tom's. His gorgeous voice, expressing the message of those lyrics, and his engaging and disarming presence create an irresistible invitation. One to which I could NEVER say "No." He is so confident, masculine, passionate, sincere, and positively 9:10 captivating! When he sings like this, he always makes me feel like he is singing to me, and makes me melt. Tom... I adore you, and always will.
@@chrismellor1606Sorry I don't but it was a video done very early on in their Channel. Maybe when Amber first came on. It had that digital studio background before they had the tie-dye brick wall backdrop. It was their first introduction two Tom Jones. ❤️
@pamelaesparza1586 Hi. Just to let you know I've checked right back to their first videos and the earliest Tom Jones clip I can find is Treat her Right. Amber does say before the clip starts that they had already reacted to I'll never fall in love but it seems to have been removed from some reason. Shame as it possibly my favourite song of Toms❤️
Another is love letters with Jeff Beck. Video of him recording it live. Also singing with Sam Moore from Sam and Dave live I can't stand up for falling down!! Amazing!!!!
So fun to enjoy vicariously through your enjoyment this great classic music. Thank you. Definitely put a smile on *my* face. Tom Jones is one of the greatest singers alive and in the last 50 years. He can sing anything in any style. I discovered one of his country albums about 10 years ago and couldn’t stop playing it. And yet, there are few better rock singers, IMO. He can cover it all. His voice is beyond compare. While maybe not as beautiful as this, one of his sexiest recent covers is “You Can Leave Your Hat On”. There’s a video from one of those TV talent shows. It’s worth reacting to that. That’s a Randy Newman song that Joe Cocker covered (and owned it, until Tom Jones covered it). There’s also an old tv show clip with Janis Joplin and Tom Jones singing a song together. Well worth your time.
Tom Jones & Rhiannon Giddens perform St. James Infirmary Blues for Jools' Annual Hootenanny 2015/16. New Orleans style big band Song popularized by Louis Armstrong
Tom jones - you just can't go wrong ❤❤ you need tontry The Stereophonics (welsh band) Amber will love the lead singers voice .(Kelly Jones). they also do a cover WITH sir Tom called 'Mama told me not to come' 🎉🎉
Tom is the greatest! But can I lead you down a path with a Tom Jones connection, which I think you will absolutely love. There was a group called Shapeshifters in the early 2000's, and they had a huge hit here in the UK, as well as in Europe with a song called "Lola's Theme"....it is such a great feel good and uplifting song, with horns (Amber). So the Tom Jones connection is the lead singer, her name is Janet Ramus, aka Cookie. Now, Janet for many years was Tom's backing singer, and she had this fantastic soulful voice with that lovely rasp....you'll see what I mean!
Jay and Amber, you have to see a tv special he did titled, “I WAS BORN TO BE ME”. It show cases his variety of music he is known for. I know you don’t watch things that are long, but this will be worth your time. I enjoy your podcast, you both are very special.
