They usually paint the whole truck, including the bottom side when the whole truck is assembled and ready for paint. But yes, priming and painting the body chasis frame would also be advantageous.

The old section of frame rail has the factory drilled holes 🕳 in it . Basically its being used as a template for drilling the new holes into the new sections of chassis frame..plus it still has the original chassis number stamped on it ..
