Here’s how Psalm 16 predicts Jesus’ resurrection… and more.
This Psalm was quoted by both Peter and Paul in the New Testament as speaking prophetically of the resurrection of Christ. It turns out that there is some support for this sort of view in ancient rabbinic writings as well!

I love how much depth there is in the Bible when we realize that it is all about Jesus. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about that concept of declaring to God that he is my God and that I belong to Him. It’s amazing to pledge this allegiance to Him and also submit and honor Him with our life commitment to obey Him. There is also great comfort in knowing that we depend on His protection, love, mercy and goodness. I can trust that He will take care of me now and forever.

Hi Mike. My name is Steve and I was just exposed to your ministry last night at my churches bible study. We watched your video on bible translations and it was excellent. It’s so refreshing to see the topic of Jesus in the Old Testament especially in a day when popular evangelists like Andy Stanley are propagating a falsehood that the Old Testament is irrelevant.

@@jeffwarren6906 thanks for your comment. :). Now I know I'm not just "beating the air" when I share my experiences. Your "reactions to situations, moods and problems" showing it self to be more productive. God's word promises to bring "life" and "spirit" to us - all which is the energy of the Holy Spirit. I read this morning about John Westley's High View of the Bible, and I will quote: " In his "Plain Account". (a book John Westley wrote), - which is the main source of our knowledge of Wesley's mind on this doctrine - he quotes the Bible one hundred and ninety-five times: twenty-three times from the Old Testament and one hundred and seventy-two from the New. (in the analysis the author used he said that if he counted a second or third use of a text as though it were the same quotation that, including repetitions, the figures are: Old Testament twenty four, New Testament, two hundred and twenty-four.) Some of his pages are little more than a catenary of quotations. He seems to have lived in the Scriptures so long that Bible phrasing has become second nature to him, and he swims from one citation to another with effortless ease. Ignoring the repetitive use he makes of certain texts, he quotes the Synoptic Gospels twenty-nine times, Paul seventy-four times and the Johannine writings thirty four times. The most quoted book is the First Epistle of John, from which he culls twenty texts, some of which he repeats frequently. After the First Epistle of John, Mathew and Romans are cited most, with eighteen varied quotations each." I have memorized Psalm 119 too .... and personally it has given me a closer walk with Jesus. I believe that Psalm 1 encapsulates how much we need to delve into God's Word, meditating day and night. God bless You have definitely encouraged me by your wholesome comments. Bill

Hey, Pastor Mike. I thank God for what He has done, and what He's continuing to do through your ministry: the Word of God is still being preached. May the Almighty God continue to use you mightily, so that through the preaching of the undiluted Word, revival will definitely take place. I believe the Word of God definitely brings true revival, and we thank God for people like you who have passion for His Word. May He reward your work in Jesus' name. Now, Pastor Mike, there's something that I really, really need you to address. I don't know whether you may have the opportunity to address this issue, but to be honest with you, it needs to be addressed. I've been coming across some RU-vid videos by this pastor from UC Birkeley, Gene Kim. I discovered that in a majority of his teachings, he twists Scripture, thinking that he's preaching the truth, but in reality he's not. For example, there's this one video where Pastor Gene stated that the name Yahweh is actually a pagan name that came from a desert god. I know for a fact that this statement is absolutely false, because based on what I know about the Bible so far, the Old Testament always refers to the Almighty God as Yahweh. I can tell that Pastor Gene's conclusion about Yahweh is false, mainly because of the references he made to non-credible sources like Wikipedia. I'll show you what I mean:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BLgshZe4T8w.htmlThere are a few other heresies that he's been teaching as well, such as: Jesus is married to a black woman, meaning that His bride, the church, is of black origin (proof text in Song of Solomon 1); and that James 2, which deals with the topic of faith and works, only applies to Christians during the tribulation period. According to the Bible, James 2 actually applies to all believers; plus, Jesus' bride, the church, is actually of Jewish origin: birthed in Jerusalem during the day of Pentecost (Acts 2), began to grow and develop outside Jerusalem, and ultimately outside the Jewish world (Acts 10), and is now a mixture of both Jewish and Gentile blood, as the apostle Paul states that we are all one in Christ. I've also found out that Pastor Gene believes in King James Only, that every other Bible outside the King James is Satanic. I know you've dealt with this issue of King James Only before, but for the sake of clarity for Christians and Bible students who are still growing in faith, I think it's best you address this issue again. Lastly, there's been a lot of confusion on the issue of Billy Graham and the impact he has made to the world. Although many of us have witnessed great and mighty things the LORD had done through the ministry of Billy Graham, there are many other people in Christian circles who either believe that he's (1) a false prophet, (2) an ecumenical globalist leader, or (3) a man that teaches works-based salvation. Plus, I noticed that this same Pastor Gene Kim stated that Billy Graham is actually Satan's pastor for the New World Order. If you don't believe me, please check out this video:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lkB6ywxydf8A.htmllthough I've never met him in person, I've listened to some of Billy Graham's messages, most of which preach a message of revival and repentance for America. Plus, I've also read from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association about the lives that were completely changed through that ministry. Just by the messages he preached on America and its need for repentance, I don't see any possibility of him being a globalist or ecumenical leader at all. Yet there are people that say he is, mainly because of some statement he made about God calling different people from different groups to come to Him; many of them misconstrue that to mean that all ways lead to God, which is absolutely false. I believe what he really meant when he made this statement is that no matter what background a person may be from, whether he/she is born in a Christian, Jewish, Muslim Catholic or any other home, "whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). Yes, very few come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and I definitely agree with that. But also according to the Bible, God's greatest desire is that all men everywhere come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If you would please deal with this Gene Kim issue. I'm not taking this personally though, because Christians deal with heresies every day, and that's part of spiritual warfare, fighting the good fight of faith. But what bugs me about this is that there are very, very few people on the Internet who are willing to get the whole truth out, and most times you rarely find them. But Pastor Mike, I know you're one of the best examples of people who will look at issues in light of God's Word, and get the whole truth out. If it is possible you address the Gene Kim and Billly Graham issues, please do so, especially for the sake of Christians who are still growing and developing in their faith. God bless you,Erioluwa Deborah Adeniji

Mike Winger, I love your stuff. If you want to read the Messianic Psalms correctly, pray in the Spirit that God would open your eyes to see things previously overlooked. Mostly those things you see commonly see in typology. Read the psalm(s) like normal, then re-read the same psalm but "imagine" it was Jesus talking. How would this second reading change your interpretations and visions of what you read? I pray all would see Jesus, God, the Spirit AND us, his church EVERYWHERE in the OT. Amen.

Hi Pastor Mike Psalm 16 reminds me about the scripture that says Jesus Christ is at the Right hand of the father intercedes for us, if Christ is God who is then sitting at the right hand of God, or what is the meaning of Christ (God) sitting at the right hand of God 🙏
@BigAl53750
@BigAl53750 Год назад
Jesus is God and sits at the right hand of The Father, who is also God. The doctrine of the Trinity is hard to understand, but the Bible clearly teaches that God is ONE God, in three persons. The best text to show this is action, is in the Gospel account of Matthew:- Matt.3 16. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. So we have Jesus, who is God in the flesh (see John 1) and then the Spirit of God (who is also God) descending on Him, and then, the voice of The Father, who is God, speaking from heaven about Jesus.

@@gerarddlima Thank you for the response. I do agree that there are parts of the bible that are universal and can apply to everyone. For example, "love thy neighbor", "don't steal", etc... On the other hand, "not sparing the rod ", "not suffering a witch to live", are not necessarily universal. The non universal commands would only be applicable to Blood Christian Europeans. Religious text generally contain information about a specific people, a specific land, specific food, specific language, specific context, specific people psychology, specific people diseases and cures, it is critical for every people to retain key elements of their non universal tenets of their people's traditions. Especially the ones that can have direct impact on the physical lives of the specific people about whom the text is speaking. For example, West African diet had very limited use of dairy products. Unfortunately, including dairy in the West African diet recently, is negatively affecting them. The non universals are critical to the well being of the specific people, because they can literarily harm the specific people. Essentially, people are not the same in the nuances of their psychology, physical adaptations, disease controlling genes, etc. Often religious text include the do's and don't's about these specific attributes of the specific people. The potential future imposition of Islam or any other non Roman Christian dogma on the West will have direct negative impact on Western Europeans' lives. To that end, the concerns of the European descendants are not unfounded or unjustified. Your thoughts?

If Jesus body had seen decay, New Testament authors could just claim that this was to fulfill Job 19:26, which says “Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shall see God”. So if Jesus body doesn’t see decay that’s a fulfillment of prophecy, and if Jesus body does see decay that would also be a fulfillment of prophecy. It’s a win win

Or had Jesus died of disease instead of crucifixion, a New Testament authors could then claim that this happened to fulfill Job 18:13: “His skin is devoured by disease, The firstborn of death devours his limbs.” There’s 23,145 verses in the Hebrew Bible. With a selection that large to choose from, it’s easy to pluck verses out of context and claim that they foreshadow events in the life of just about anyone.

You are in error because you don't know the scriptures or the power of God. Job speaks of seeing Good after he dies. The Holy One not seeing decay is about a bodily resurrection. Jesus would not have fulfilled the messianic prophesy of he had not resurrected. Paul says in I Corinthians 15:17-19 that if Christ is not raised your faith is futile and we are still on our sins and goes on to say that if there is no resurrection, Christians above all people are to be pitied. I agree only with the Written Prototype Word of God. You search in the OT to find the Absolutely Truth About the Almighty God Jesus ? The OT = shadow (Colossians 2:17, Hebrew 8:5-13, Hebrew 10:1-4) BUT the in New Testament the same Almighty God Word Jesus Christ came down on earth in human flesh, not in a human being. = Hebrews 10:5 "Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. " Jesus came from Above ... The Father didn't create a human Jesus, because the human with spirit,soul and body is a creation . How blasphemous are you all !! How dare you Satan to minimize the Almighty God ? BUT God allows you to do so in purpose to deceive the Apostates the forerunners of the Antichrist Revelation 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. Doctrine of Antichrist = human Jesus , Doctrine of the Holy Spirit the Written Word of God = Jesus became flesh, came into a human flesh, in the likeness of a men, The Son of Man was in the bosom of the Father (all these are verses from the Word of God) 1John 5: and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist Luke 23:46 Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’ The spirit of Jesus Christ ... The Almighty God Word died for me ! not a human = Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”. 11 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” ... 17 Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. The same Word Jesus Christ came down in earth in human flesh, emptied Himself and He dressed a human body under the law and the sin of human flesh and my Lord and my God died for me!= Colossians 1:12-23 .. he didn't die for me John the Baptist, not the 144.000 ... do you know how holy human was John the Baptist ? = Mathew 11:11 ... and the 144.000 ? = Revelation = 14:4-5 So, Jesus Christ is the rock = Romans 9:33 Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. Mathew 21:44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” So, all you fool go against this rock !

I see your love for God and Christ is the path you strive to follow. You demonstrate a love for Christ which is beautiful. But my confusion come with we are all sent to spread the good news but we are not to create our on ministry. Your are chosen to be a pastor not by self appointment but appointment by the laying of hands which is instructed in the Bible. The Bible never says you can self appoint yourself a paster and paster god sheep. Christ instituted a new priesthood and the priesthood is not to be self interpreted. I don’t see any problem with sharing Gods word but just because I spread the words of god and people listen to me and start to love Christ and follow home it doesn’t give me authority to become a paster. If you have a calling for priesthood wouldn’t you rather follow what Christ has put in place? Christ did call for unity in the church not diversity.

Oswaldo - I believe Mike has been chosen by his church to be a pastor. He never says he was self-appointed. It's back to the old discussion - do we follow the Catholic Church who was "put in place" or do we become Protestants where "we are all priests and kings". Sometimes it's a question of control, many (especially) Pentecostal churches want "authority" over their flock, but the true place of authority is to be a 'servant'. I believe Mike is a servant of Christ. :)

Dan Edwards well he just might 😀. Take 66 crumbs, find Jesus in every book in the Bible (66) and the fact he was the living sacrifice (burnt toast) would that not be enough to convince a moron? After all, Jesus said his message was hidden to those who were high in the world, but manifest to the poor in spirit. 🥳🥳🥳

The Resurrection argument only works if these people actually saw Jesus alive again (with their eyes) after his death since that is the only way to verify that an actual resurrection had taken place. If the "appearances" of Jesus were not veridical then the Resurrection argument fails. Therefore, the burden of proof is on the Resurrection proponent to demonstrate that the "appearances" of the Risen Christ were veridical. Paul is the earliest and only source written firsthand who says "Jesus appeared to me" and the appearance to him was some sort of "revelation" from heaven - Gal. 1:16 which he does not distinguish from the other appearances in 1 Cor 15:5-8. In 1 Cor 15:5-8 the word for "appeared" is ὤφθη (ōphthē) which is the aorist passive form of ὁράω (horáō). Note how this word doesn't necessarily mean to see with the eyes. ὁράω 1. to see with the eyes 2. *to see with the mind, to perceive, know* 3. to see, i.e. become acquainted with by experience, to experience www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?t=kjv&strongs=g3708 horáō - properly, see, *often with metaphorical meaning: "to see with the mind" (i.e. spiritually see), i.e. perceive (with inward spiritual perception)."* biblehub.com/greek/3708.htm So without reading in the stories from the later gospels and Acts, what argument can be given that the resurrection appearances were originally understood to be visually confirmed physical encounters with the Resurrected body of Jesus? Since the Greek word can mean physical or spiritual seeing and the fact that these people claimed to "see" things in visions and dreams quite regularly www.openbible.info/topics/dreams_and_visions then any claim that they "saw" Jesus is simply a non-starter. Note: Any appeal to the later gospels and Acts is a tacit admission that Paul (the earliest and only firsthand source) gives no clear evidence for the physical/veridical type of seeing.

You forget His multiple appearances to his disciples.
@nobs4898
@nobs4898 4 года назад
@@isaiahkerstetter3142 Oh you mean the ones in the sources which are are not firsthand, written anonymously, and consistent with a legend developing? Paul c. 50 CE - is the only firsthand report. He says the Risen Jesus "appeared" ὤφθη (1 Cor 15:5-8) and was experienced through "visions" and "revelations" - 2 Cor 12:1. The appearance to Paul was a vision/revelation *from heaven* - Gal. 1:12-16, Acts 26:19 (not a physical encounter with a revived corpse) and he makes no distinction between what he "saw" and what the others "saw" in 1 Cor 15:5-8. This shows that early Christians accepted visions as Resurrection "appearances." Paul nowhere gives any evidence of the Risen Christ being experienced in a more "physical" way which means you have to necessarily read in the *assumption* that the appearances were physical, from a later source that Paul nowhere corroborates. He had a chance to mention the empty tomb in 1 Cor 15 when it would have greatly helped his argument but doesn't. Paul's order of appearances: Peter, the twelve, the 500, James, all the apostles, Paul. No location is mentioned. Mark c. 70 CE - introduces the empty tomb but has no appearance report. Predicts Jesus will be "seen" in Galilee. The original ends at 16:8 where the women leave and tell no one. Mark's order of appearances: Not applicable. Matthew c. 80 CE - has the women tell the disciples, contradicting Mark's ending, has some women grab Jesus' feet, then has an appearance in Galilee which "some doubt" - Mt. 28:17. Matthew also adds a descending angel, great earthquake, and a zombie apocalypse to spice things up. If these things actually happened then it's hard to believe the other gospel authors left them out, let alone any other contemporary source from the time period. Matthew's order of appearances: Two women, eleven disciples. The appearance to the women takes place near the tomb in Jerusalem while the appearance to the disciples happens on a mountain in Galilee. Luke 85-95 CE - has the women immediately tell the disciples, contradicting Mark. Jesus appears in Jerusalem, not Galilee, contradicting Matthew's depiction and Mark's prediction. He appears to two people on the Emmaus Road who don't recognize him at first. Jesus then vanishes and suddenly appears to the disciples. This time Jesus is "not a spirit" but a "flesh and bone" body that gets inspected, eats fish, then floats to heaven while all the disciples watch - conspicuously missing from all the earlier reports. Acts adds the otherwise unattested claim that Jesus appeared over a period of 40 days. Luke's order of appearances: Two on the Emmaus Road, Peter, rest of the eleven disciples. All appearances happen in Jerusalem. John 90-110 CE - Jesus can now walk through walls and has the Doubting Thomas story where Jesus gets poked. Jesus is also basically God in this gospel which represents another astonishing development. John's order of appearances: Mary Magdalene, eleven disciples, the disciples again plus Thomas, then to seven disciples. In John 20 the appearances happen in Jerusalem and in John 21 they happen near the Sea of Galilee on a fishing trip. As you can see, these reports are inconsistent with one another and represent growth that's better explained as legendary accretion rather than actual history. If these were actual historical reports that were based on eyewitness testimony then we would expect more consistency than we actually get. None of the resurrection reports in the gospels even match Paul's appearance chronology in 1 Cor 15:5-8 and the later sources have amazing stories that are drastically different from and nowhere even mentioned in the earliest reports. The story evolves from Paul's spiritual/mystical Christ all the way up to literally touching a resurrected corpse that flies to heaven! So upon critically examining the evidence we can see the clear linear development that Christianity started with spiritual visionary experiences and evolved to the ever-changing physical encounters in the gospels (which are not firsthand reports). www.reddit.com/r/DebateAChristian/comments/6hj39c/the_resurrection_is_a_legend_that_grew_over_time/
