Other than in the completely misleading title, you mean? I intend on watching the videos, but I definitely do Not appreciate the deception in the title. For a few minutes I was actually excited that something might have happened. Nope. What’s more incredulous than that is the appeal to get us to get him more viewers. Why should I share this video or channel if a) there’s nothing to see b) he’s going to be misleading in the worst click-bait way? Big fan of Tesla. Love the reports. Hope this can be adjusted for future videos.
I wonder if it’s because Tesla’s planning a much higher robotics program that includes Optimus to work there so they are still finalising the factory design? The full capabilities of Optimus are probably still being developed so taking time from proceeding with the Tesla Semi process layout design.
Very important that you always tell the truth. That is what makes people come back to your Tesla channel again. There are priorities at Tesla, that most of us doesnt have a clue about. Tesla Giga Austin are using a lot of effort to make the new extention ready for the aug. 8. event, and the Semi Nevada will never get the same volumen or importance as the new compelling 25K$ compact. So its not because the company dont have the billions to invest. Its just spent elswhere for the time being. The backing muzak are a bit annoying, and may destroy the visual experience of your drone videos. Many will just turn down the audio, but then they will miss the important information in your speech. Keep up the good work. Your time will come eventually. Per in Denmark 🇩🇰😎
It’s probably a good idea to consider that physical progress is not the only way to judge the speed of progress. Most things in life are a lot more complicated than they appear on the surface. Consider that in order for this project to be finished to completion, every step along the way matters. If some future step has a known delay for whatever reason it would only make sense to match the speed of current progress to align with those potential delays in the future. Also… there’s always challenges outside of their control that could cause delays.
Me too, but it seems like a poor excuse. I'm more inclined to believe it is related to the slow ramp up of 4680 cells. Likely Tesla is evaluating other battery options, and the effect that will have on the truck's design. However they could still go ahead with foundations. Is it possible that this project is not fully supported by Tesla's board? Is this an Elon only pet project? If the vote goes badly for Elon, will the Semi die?
Thanks for your honesty. There could be some factory design aspects still not finalized, because the Semi itself is undergoing test deployments to limited customers mainly Pepsico and is being also tested by Tesla themselves. We have to realize the Semi trucks that have currently been produced, are likely not going to be the final build, so changes may be necessary before significant increases in scale. If Semi testing reveals certain changes are needed, that could implicate designs of the factory, while not greatly affecting sight location or footprint. So this is one possible theory for causes of delays in factory construction.
Really appreciate your reports. Reporting no progress is as important as reporting progress. Very little happening in Shanghai, Berlin and Fremont in terms of infrastructure. AI is where Tesla's investment is going at the moment. I expect Elon is cautiously maintaining positive free cash flow. Apparently, Tier 1 suppliers accept more than 90 day payment terms - so vehicles are sold before they get paid. Let's hope MY Juniper upgrade is underway in the background and we see it in Q3. Chinese makers are coming out with 800 V vehicles that compete with the 3 and Y. Tesla needs to bring tech from the CT to the Y to reduce cost and improve performance. Best if Juniper launches before the CyberCab reveal as Juniper will boost sales.
I just want to re-enforce some other comments here. Despite the lack of progress, I do hope you will continue reporting. We certainly want to hear as early as possible any progress is made.
I suspect that until GT has a whole lot more batteries (i.e. >150% ) the Semi will be a slow roll. They'll probably build ~ 50 this year (~30 for Frito, 12 for them selves and the rest for one-off test samples). Save yourself some time, and just repost the nice dirt field with a DD-SD* caption. When you see a lot of steel piling up, that may be still months from actual construction. My wild guess is maybe Halloween. *Different Day-Same Dirt 😁
The slow Semi pace is frustrating for me as a shareholder because I know they will be able to pre-sell every single unit for years and years, even if priced higher than traditional rigs. Operators will make their profit through reduced operating costs. I do see the relationship to AI though... when FSD gets approved for freight haulers Tesla will make a lot money leasing the tech to existing manufacturers and operators. That's the bet that Elon is making.
Tesla is clearly modifying their capital expenditure strategy. Either they are convinced that serious hard times are in the near future, or they have identified a higher priority use for their capital.
Your comment seems true of multiple areas. Elon has been downright scared of a big recession for a couple years. I keep thinking 4680 progress is kicking their butt. I still expect their excellent engineering staff will figure it out but any other company would have given up. If this construction takes off, I do expect to hear about mega chargers progress for some nationwide interstate charging to be announced or started in parallel.
Focus is compute. They’re spending many billions for FSD to enable robo taxi. Tesla is going in a new direction. Building factories is lower priority for expenditure just now.
@@paulmcgreevy3011 Yes, seemingly a pace shift between manufacturing and FSD. We have to remember that FSD is not just for robo taxi. That same FSD will be leased to freight haulers and to ordinary people too. There is a huge potential windfall here.
It looks like the current on site contractor was for site prep, not for the building construction. There's some markers there showing some surveying. I wonder if it's as simple as when the foundation contractor was scheduled or has been delayed. Either way, the project management team could/should have had a tighter schedule with the subs?
Hmmm . . . Tesla is in no hurry to put it's Semi into production. Wonder what the deal is? I thought they would make another fortune with it. Perhaps I was wrong . . . wouldn't be the first time.
@@4literv6😂 you know how many trucks get sold each year? 100k annually thats the class 10 market The ev truck market is tiny. 50k is a massive number almost ridiculous I hope they make it. But dont compare to the car business
Semi on hold, Mexico on hold. These are very long lead items that are needed. Agree the 4680 is log jamming alot of progress. Cyber truck had to have price jacked way up to enter mass production. Clearly that won't work for Semi or $25k car (Mexico). 4680 is gumming up alot of the new growth. The Cathode in particular is a Huge drag. They need a breakthrough there as they are clearly working around it. Energy density remains poor and costs high. They seem to be stuck against the same wall as the solid state battery.
Well, you must admit it's going a lot faster than Giga Mexico. 🤣 AdreanCG is fit to be tied, flying his drone over that patch of land. By the way, what is the name of your themes song you use at the beginning and end of the video? I've used Shazam, and it has identified it as 7 different songs.
Yo man, I love your shots, but your narration is a bit hit and miss. It would be super cool if you struck a deal with Joe T. And became part of his team let him narrate the videos and you supply the shots. Joe is very positive in his narration and including your videos in his brand will make both of you reap greater rewards as your channel just by itself is missing out on some greater opportunities of cross gig factory networking. Your shots are great. Your voice overs are in a good style, but Nevada is a fringe and Giga Texas is the center. I think getting your videos to larger audience is very important and making a team with Joe is the right path.
Maybe controlling expenses until the end of this quarter. If they weren’t publicly traded I’m sure it would be faster but Elon has to worry about all the crybaby fund managers every 3 months.
Everything still all about Cybertruck until Elon gets his pay package then matters I would expect to change. Another issue(s) is both transferring AI tech from nVidia paid for by Tesla to the Elon AI system and also whilst Starship moving strongly in the right direction still no Starlink payloads which is the purpose of SpaceX Starship. Model Y is in prime production Years starting right now this Year 2024 and those vehicles need to moved around for delivery and the two best ways to do that are Cybertruck and Tesla Semi still so I expect any returns by unhappy customers especially of Tesla Semi will be put to work by and for Tesla so don't be so down on a lack of building buildings that need have taxes paid on, utilities, road work done, who knows what else for fixed costs. What's going on inside is what matters most at the moment no doubt great observation.
He has to first focus on the future of Tesla which is Optimus and FSD. Semi industry is not that valuable so it has been put on the back-burner. A.I. is potentially worth trillions.
