Hey Grant! I'm starting as an AM as well in January! Just wanted to say that I really appreciate these videos. I had my interviews just around when you started making videos so the timing is perfect. Following your journey, hearing about your day, and hearing you enjoy it now has made me much less anxious for when I start!

13.5 hours per a day? One extra hour for preparing for your day at the start, and 2.5 hours doing shift hand off at the end? I was under the assumption that it would be more 11-12 hours (30 minutes to an hour before and after shift). Thanks a bunch for making these. I'm glad you are liking it and you give me reassurance that I have made the right decision by accepting my offer.
@Grant0669

Tyler J. My shift is RT, which means I work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. For the associates, this shift goes from 6:30PM-7:00AM. The extra hour comes from coming in one hour early to prepare for the shift. Other shifts are 10 hours typically but run over four days. I hope this helps clear it up!

Thanks for posting Grant! That’s a very long day but working 3 days out of 7 isn’t so bad. Wondering how long do you get for meal breaks (you mentioned you bring two meals). What about your team. Does everyone go to lunch at the same time, it seems it would be challenging if they didn’t. What about mid day breaks?. I know they are not union workers but most companies usually allow for mid day 15 minute just to refresh your mind. Appreciate the information you share. Really helpful to know what to expect if given an offer.
@Grant0669
@Grant0669 3 года назад
@@tamarhc Yeah 3 out of 7 is not bad especially since I can flip back to a regular day schedule during my days off. Right now they have staggered lunch and break times due to COVID. This is for mid day breaks but keep in mind this is for associates, not managers. Managers can take breaks as they see fit. My shift specifically has two 30 minute breaks and one 15 minute break.

I truly appreciate your videos Grant. I accepted my offer as an AM last week and I was recently placed in a Fort Worth FC starting in January. What methods have you found to be most effective in troubleshooting these occurrences efficiently and effectively?

That is very exciting congratulations! The change of scenery will be a lot of fun - I have loved moving around and can relate to this. That is a good questions and I will cover that more in my next video. If you would like to sit down you can find places to take a seat and rest - it is definitely an active job physically. Hey Grant, I recently got an offer and waiting for the official offer and I got 2 questions because they've been on my mind. First, I know that most of Amazon's FC's are outside the city. Do you think there will be trouble getting to work without a car? Second, which relocation option would you recommend for someone moving out of state, keeping in mind that I don't have a car? Thanks!

So far I have not - however during peak season this is more up in the air. You will have a day in your shift code that is assigned to you where if you have to work overtime you will at least know the specific day that would happen on. I would imagine during peak AMs can be called in on other days outside of this as well. You kind just have to let it go during peak and go with it! But otherwise I have not had this experience.
