Amber was going through what she went through when she first dated Mark. Except instead of spending almost a year of going "where is Mark?", she spends the half of their relationship going "how is Mark?"

Immortal: "Okay Rex started the line, I know his line wasn't "The Immortal sucks and his beard looks dumb"." Allen: "That's what Invincible told me! I swear. Take it up with Rex and the five people before him! I'm just the messenger don't get mad at me!"

How? She talked about how important it is to be in service to your fellow man and how important honesty is, then lied to Mark just to make him feel like shit, insulted him for risking his own life to help others and used it as an excuse to try to cheat on him just to twist the knife. Literally, the writers are either dumb or think every chick out there is a psychopath that's horribly vindictive if that's what they think relationships between people that have any real care between one and other is like. It feels like Mark's just looking to bone and Amber is crazy as hell. It's depressingly awkward, and that's only really outdone by fans that act like anything about these twos "romance" is anything but a joke. Amber would have pulled the same shit Rex did in the show, but it act like she was somehow justified to do so on top of being manipulative and fucking with Mark's head and feelings over Mark saving her and others lives. She would have earned some points if it was an act, and she did it to get Mark away from the other two to have an actual talk with him about it, but girl flat out says "I knew it was you jumping in the way of danger to save William, but I'm mad so I insulted you and looked for a rebound." Like that makes any sense at all, and isn't the worst written part of season one.

I don't think y'all know what subversion means. Invincible is a very basic superhero show that's more cliche than anything. The girl figuring out that boyfriend is a superhero is the most basic and cliche version of this romance trope. Well established top dog of heroes being secretly evil is a cliche. Evil daddy and good son drama? Really cliche. Best girl wanting best boy, but random relationship blocks it? Cliche. Even the thing that people try to call subversive about it, being gratuitously violent, somewhat edgy, gritty realism, and more "mature" story which is just being more vulgar and explicit was the status quo for making superhero stuff in like the 90s and 2000s. So this is already like a 35-year-old cliche.

Gonna have to disagree with you there dude, she was such an unlikeable b*tch in pretty much ALL her scenes, constantly gaslighting Mark for not helping her in the fecking soup kitchen then to double-down and be all “yeah, I knew you were a superhero nearly dying all the time, but you didn’t help me with this so I should dump you, but I won’t (cos if I do I won’t be able to guilt you anymore), ain’t I great?” The personality shift from “forever p-ssed” to “always worried “ was so sudden I got whiplash trying to keep up with it but it is such a RELIEF she’s gone now! 😄😄😄

S2 Amber is definitely an improvement. But only because they shit the bed so hard with S1 Amber that they basically had to pretend that she was never so awful in order for people to not continue actively hating her(and the writers by proxy).

That was so season 1. Season 2 amber was better

They're the definition of mid. Not offensive or toxic in any way, but not worth caring about. The ship just exists. Next up in shipper land is something truly offensive.

TV. I mean, she's pretty mid either way, I don't love her or hate her, but I guess I like the TV version better.

Comic Amber is less annoying but TV Amber is more interesting to talk about despite being current year incarnate. TV Amber barely wins, but the current year stuff is damning.

Little do they know there is a place to read a comic online. But I wouldn't know of such a place. But seriously, the industry needs our support, so don't go to pirate sites.
