Must try those : - boeuf bourguignon, - cassoulet - calamar a l'armoricaine - endive au jambon - ficelle picarde - gratin dauphinois - poule au pot - escalope normande - coq au vin - canard a l'orange - lapin a la moutarde - choux farci - aligot - salade nicoise - saucisson sec, saucisson à l'ail, saucisse de toulouse, de Strasbourg ou de morteau - jambon de Bayonne, jambon doré, jambon fumé... Etc.... much better than a croque monsieur...

Hello, just to clarify that for snails it's not entirely true, not many French people eat them and especially not the young people of today who look at it with disgust, in short I think it comes from the great wars to feed themselves but it was the people before who ate them more, I ate them sometimes not much but I love it

CROISSANT... cro .kwa...silen T is silent French fries are Belgian.. America troops in WW2 ate them in Belgium who speak french..so assumed they were in France. And took the name home to usa..

No french fries is french. In reality, the origin of the fries is not Belgian, but French, and even Parisian! In the 1800s, doughnut sellers settled around the Pont-Neuf, and they were the first to have the idea of plunging potatoes into frying oil. The success was immediate, and they began to sell these delights near the theaters and on the banks of the Seine. Within a few decades, the frie became a staple of popular Parisian cuisine at the time. It was not until 1944 that the fries arrived in Belgium, when Frédéric Krieger, a Bavarian, opened the country's first fried shack!

@@soa8181 exactly. The french fries were already known in the USA before the french revolution, imported from France by Thomas Jefferson and described in a hand-written recipe written from his own hand.
