Cordelia was a good supreme but she wasn’t born to be a fighter, Fiona would’ve fared well in the war against the antichrist but her selfishness is what eventually doomed the coven.
you have to remember that they were facing against the antichrist, the spawn of satan and no coven throughout history has ever faced that level of threat. in a way the power that sustained the salem coven has to find a new supreme to give them a chance to survive
@@mlancholia3920 The fact that Cordelia put a entire AURA SHIELD around the academy shows the amount of power she wields. With a flick of her finger she could rip one’s larynx and tear it from their throat. And also Myrtle is the one who discovered that Mallory can go back in time. Myrtle specialized in divination like truth spells and stuff, she also mastered paralysis, pyrokinesis, hypnosis, and her best power shade throwing. Cordelia, Myrtle, and Marie are my favs
@@ceejayl5350 The way Cordelia handled this....Fiona would have done anything on the offensive. I truly believe they should have had Fiona back just to pull up some tricks.
this scene alone had too many plotholes. Cordelia put a protection spell for the house but when Dinah crack them she didn’t seem to notice? even if Cordelia didn’t take a notice of her spell got broken off, they still have Malory who can sense evil from afar and a strong witch too to notice Michael’s entrance. or Bubbles, she can look into a person’s soul, i bet she also can sense somebody’s presence without seeing them or being in the same room with them. Zoe for god sake, she broke Marie Laveau’s voodo zombie spell, yet she just done telekinesis to him? like girl you were also one of the only two students that survive by the end of Coven and you had all that time until Apocalypse to fully control your skills while discovering others. Queenie however, she could have been the boomerang to Michael, idk about Mead, cause she’s a robot and can take a voodo magic or not, but her respone is reasonable cause all those time she died and stuck inside Hotel, she couldn’t do any magic. I just mad because all those girls could done so much more especially Madison and Zoe.
I don't remember where it was established that Mallory could sense evil from afar. Misty had a great intuition and sensed it from Michael. But about the spell... The fatal flaw in the spell, the variable is Dinah. Dinah isn't necessarily evil; She's an opportunist. In fact, up until she performed the spell, she seemed to move begrudgingly, as if she didn't even want to do the spell. Her face says it too... But the way she saw it, she tried to help and Cordelia wouldn't take the deal - so that's how she would justify it to herself. Anyway, the fact that she isn't evil or some demonic energy allowed her to creep up to the borders and open a hole. The coven wouldn't prepare for Dinah because they thought of her as an ally. Michael wasn't even on scene at this point and based on the mantra we can deduce he couldn't get near the school without Dinah attacking the Achilles heel of the spell. As for why no one noticed, even divination takes active focus on a target. Once the whole was punched, things proceeded very quickly. Michael was in the door. Part of the spell seems to be an aura cloak, suggested by how Meade and Michael walk in tandem with the smoke... This would explain why the witches were able to be snuck up on. Understand that these were a handful of novice, to experienced witches, as well as a few true contemporaries... Facing off against a power that, at the very least, has equality with a supreme or surpasses her PLUS a war machine. You can't expect these girls to have the power to do much of anything against them, especially when they had no prep work done with how to deal with Meade. To liken it to something more mundane, just because you can throw a punch doesn't mean you're going to defeat a Grandmaster... If anything, they have the power and the prowess to tear you apart if you try... These girls acted mostly in unison, and Michael redirected their attempt and slaughtered most of them in one turn. Adrenaline at this point would have you freeze or run away... Meade and Michael were able to punish both contingencies.
Also loved how the new girls could do like nothing. This scene was just filled with plot holes all done for fan service. Queen and Misty served absolutely no purpose in this season yet they dedicated whole episodes to their resurrection. I was expecting them to at least live to the final battle or try to fight off Michael.
I still hate that they made Mallory the Supreme and not an Angel. Son of Satan vs Daughter of God. But no they decided to make it that Cordelia was Supreme for all of 3 weeks.
the coven is sort of a sentient being like Mallory is the only witches with the power to thwart over the antichrist hence cordelia was fading earlier than it was supposed to be
@@mlancholia3920 it makes all of Coven pointless though. All the bs season 3 did doesnt matter. Cordelia became supreme. Mallory was already alive and set in line to be Supreme the exact same way Cordelia was from birth according to Fiona. The whole season was them trying to find a new supreme and she doesn't even rule for more than a decade. And even without Michael Langdon, the wonder kids had the 2nd antichrist anyways which means regardless of who is supreme at the time Mallory is the true supreme the second Cordelia became supreme. Plus it does establish in most timelines, Cordelia is weak and cant win. what was the point of Coven then?? Apocalypse shouldn't have happened. It messed up the two best seasons of the franchise in the long-run. Also Tate is irredeemable. Mallory is wack. Apocalypse is probably the worst of the franchise.
The son of God is Jesus, what are you talking about? Angels are different mythical creatures. Satan is an angel for example. Angels cannot be born in human form
This was another instance where the show had some bad writing. The show tried to tell us repeatedly that voodoo witches were somehow less powerful than the Salem witches but one group never seemed more powerful than the other overall. Cordelia claimed this protection spell (which multiple people helped create) was unbreakable but Dinah had little trouble breaking it. It's also never spoken of again as to what happened. We never learned what power Zoe had that broke Marie's zombie raising spell either. These Coven seasons just went off the rails with plot holes, inconsistencies and setups with no follow through. It irritated the Hell out of me with all this wasted potential. That's why it never was able to topple my favorite season, Asylum.
Almost all seasons have issues and plot holes. You just gotta accept it man. It’s fiction and nothing is perfect. And Ryan Murphy is known for his inconstancies and not staying strong through his seasons. I like this clip because Michael Langdon is one of my favorite characters despite all his flaws.and it shows how over powered he was at that time. It’s great seeing him shred through the witches
@@detestor420 Of course every season has issues but they aren't glaring issues. The issues here hit harder because this wasn't just a season it was a continuation of a past season. Civil War can't work if one half of the war is underdeveloped. I thought Michael was cool until his story got peeled back. Then he was one of the lamest characters of the season for me. He came off as a whiney worthless wretch of a character in what I consider the worst season of AHS. Dinah was a trash person but she didn't ask us to feel sorry for her then lash out when we didnt.
Dinah was the equivalent of a supreme after marie. Also cordelia didnt expect another witch to break the enchantment so she didnt cast that in the spell Only the coven thought themselves more powerful than voodoo. Witches learned a whole set of magic, necromancy by the voodoos (ressurection, decensum, vitalum vitalis) marie & chantel also talk about how marie singlehandedly had witches blood running through the streets until they were forced to broker peace. Both supremes went to a voodoo queen for magic they had no knowledge of meanwhile the voodoos possessed the 7 wonders as well. Fiona even announced to cordelia that they let it slip to marie that her magic was more powerful fiona’s. Even looking at the community, the voodoos were thriving before hank (which marie caused) while the witches were choosing to die out. It wasnt yelled but it’s clear who the most powerful were
@@gee1271 All those things about the nature of the Voodoo Queen I know but that still doesn't explain this instance. A show involving witches needs to have clear limitations and explanations otherwise its just looks like characters can only do what they need to advance the plot without it feeling earned. And sometimes when it's earned, characters simply just can't do it again for whatever reason. If the storytelling is strong then I definitely won't notice things like spell/power inconsistencies but the Coven seasons seemed all over the place plotwise after around the halfway point so I started to really notice problems with how they depict power levels. How Marie could reanimate and manipulate the dead but couldn't put out a fire in her salon earlier in the coven season left me scratching my head. Queenie revived Misty after she was buried alive but couldn't do the same for Zoe while performing the 7 wonders. When defending herself against Ramona in Hotel, why did Queenie use her voodoo doll ability but never her telekinesis against her or better yet just teleported away. Apocalypse was a watchable season yes, but overall it was still a miss. It was supposed to tie up loose threads not create new ones.
yeah, something isn’t right. zoe was able to break a high priestess’ voodoo spell with one chant at her WEAKEST, but only uses telekinesis here? bubbles has the power of soul searching and seeing, but couldn’t foresee this happening? if cordelia put wards on the house, wouldn’t she know when they’ve been broken? i really wish we got to see more of a fight here, because it’s clear they’re capable.
The writers were literally snorting some bad quality lines cuz they could’ve just used Mallory powers of bringing people back to life to counter Michael’s death shit. Like why you gotta bring time travel into it if you could bring back all the past supremes and voodoo queens to seal him away or something ? Like yes the audience would totally clap when she goes back in time and runs the Antichrist with a rangerover 🙄🙄
All the supremes back? Girl they would each have less power than Coco- their supremacy would get separated so each has the same amount and that would be almost nothing considering that Cordelia was already quite weak while only sharing her powers with only one other witch (Mallory) imagine that with 20-30 more witches- there would barely be any left If at all.
@@sweetnsour10 It would be iconic but they wouldn’t be powerful enough because each supreme would share their powers with the other supremes, thus leaving each supreme with almost none (if any) power.
I am so confused how the coven was killed that easily, Cordelia said she put an 'Aura shield' how did she not sense/notice her protection spell was broken by someone/Dinah she is supreme basically the most powerful witch in the coven this is so messed up how the coven got killed so easily wth, I really wanted them to have an epic showdown/battle against Michael and then a couple of the members die, I am so pissed this is clearly bad writing. ADSFGK
I think voodoo might be a different thing. I think the idea is that unlike witchcraft with grows from the person. Voodoo comes for the ethereal plane from the loas. So it isn't something she planned for. This is my guess.
@@gawdjt I think so too. If I remember correctly, season 3 did establish the differences between Salem witchcraft and voodoo magic, which explains why Marie saw much potential in Queenie since she's a human voodoo doll with the powers of a witch. Although they've said numerous times that the supreme is the leading (most powerful) witch of a coven, I personally believe Marie/Dinah are equal to Fiona/Cordelia in terms of their power and position; they're just from different tribes with different area of expertise. This might explain how Dinah was able to break Cordelia's protection spell whereas Zoe (also a naturally powerful witch) could stop the zombies that were summoned by Marie's necromancy.
YUP! fiona is strong and cunning...but self serving. she would've fucked all of them over even worse by selling out on their next steps so they can never revive.
@@tamialeslie7187 They weren't even prepared, they were caught completely off guard. I mean yea, if nothing else I would think their teleportation abilities would at least grant them an easy escape, but either way they don't stand a chance against him.
Love the plot hole of how queenie litterally was proven to not have blessed bullets effect her back in coven when she shot herself with one, yet she died to a gunshot in this?? Also if she had focused on Michael Instead a kneade this would've been over much quicker most likely
Michael's powers were growing so even if she did manage to injure him he would've healed himself quickly, and that wouldn't have stopped Mead from shooting them all
@@austin2057 No if someone else hurts her it will still work. The whole reason she died in hotel was because he powers don't work on ghost not the fact she got stabbed by someone else.
@Zachary Khan he had his powers since he was a child, he displayed control over them and his dad protected him. Why would his dad let him bleed out in the street and not heal him?
it's bad writing and terrible decision by Bryan murphy. this is just fanservicing to the core and it flopped big time. they should have stuck to their guns and give good stories instead of linking stories from past seasons together and bringing back iconic characters in an "all-star" season.
She could have just hide there and SAW who sided with Michael and tell the last witches about it and Maddison would not have had to speculate Dinnah sided with Michael it's just unatural
Am I the only one who notices Mallory can’t actually perform resurrection? She uses time manipulating to bring someone back to a point where they are alive but she can’t resurrect like Misty or the others can, Also the fact Zoe and Queenie went down so easily is almost pathetic they are so damn powerful, I’m still mad this season had not a single witch fight I wanted to see them actually fight Michael, at least Zoe and Queenie tried tho
It was good from episode 2 to episode 6 but everything went downhill afterwards. Episode 8 ("Soujourn") was one of the worst episodes ever in the history of AHS. 🙈😭
Okay Season 3 coven was my favourite season the characters are honestly some of my favs in the entire AHS franchise, which is why the scene irritates me. Zoe had the power of magic negation as we see in season 3 against Marie’s zombie voodoo spell. She didn’t knew she had it but it was awakened in her when she was under danger. Which as we know in times of trouble witches get stronger often by manifesting new powers. Zoe was one of my fav characters and so strong, which was constantly reinforced in season 3. Many powerful witch’s like Marie, cordelia and Fiona herself commented and recognised her power. Yet she got taken out by a bullet. Come on. She was way stronger than that. And I find it hard to believe that in all these years she’s didn’t hone in on that power and train her ability of magic negation. Not to mention all those powerful witches in the room just sat like sitting ducks. Not one of them could transmute, teleport, use flames or cast a spell of protection. Those witches most definitely could have put up a better fight than that Edit: also I guess queenie was locked up in the hotel Cortez for a while and may have lost her touch but she could have targeted Michael with her voodoo instead of the robot.
@@Hairarchives I mean, the coven witches did had strong spells like time travel and stuff. But Marie’s rituals and spells never failed her and were always high when it comes to power, she even stopped the Antichrist from crossing over to her side with a spell that lasted 3 seconds to do… now superpowers… the witches in the coven were naturals in that area, they were often seen using them to even do selfish stuff. Marie was the only Voodooist that was seen with a handful of abilities, and she barely even used them :/
I'm so sad those witches weren't even given the chance to put up a good fight. Like, by now they should've learned how to do other offensive spells or something. :(
none of them gurls can do transmutation? damn if fiona was the supreme she would've prepared all of them, recruiting more witches for the upcoming war. she wouldve teached them what to do and how to protect the coven but since its cordelia, she played it safe. madison told her he was the antichrist but cordelia didnt think clearly and put everyone in danger 💀 like for real what more does she need to know? 😭
This scene has bothered me ever since I’ve watched it. The fact that Cordelia just left them to die gets to me. I understand that she was protecting Mallory but if Cordelia wasn’t such a weak witch they wouldn’t have ever allowed that “love and light” crap chant to be their only defense against the son of hell
I feel like with this timeline it was doomed. Had Fiona lived, she would have destroyed all of them. It’s making me think it’s the point. Cordelia was way too weak. Yes, it works out, but I think Fiona would have put an immediate fight up, while Cordelia hides and lets the coven get slaughtered.
Queenie out there saying lame ass Charmed spells while real power is LITERALLY AT THE FRONT DOOR ... I hope when we see the Coven again, they are more badass.
@@hollywoodsescort.8190 Exactly what I said. That Zoe died - okay, she's done that before. That a witch was using voodoo outside her door and Queenie couldn't sense it ... lame.
I was hyped New Orleans returned, but honestly I don't think they actually filmed in Location at the coven house, the interiors were very different, and there was no outside shots of the characters actually outside, let alone the French quarter....I wish they filmed in NOLA
idk why issit confusing for some that dinah broke cordelia’s aura shield??? she clearly stated that the shield protects all *witches* & only excludes *demons, humans & others* .she simply forgot to account for the loophole that is dinah’s betrayal since dinah is in fact a voodoo *witch* herself & have no problems entering the house’s premises to break the spell. the only issues with this scene was how weak they portrayed zoe and queenie, who were both supreme candidates & should’ve been able to do better and/or even escape in this scenario
The voodoo queen has equivalent spiritual power to the Supreme. I think that's the whole point they're making. Dinah is hella powerful to break that spell, but her undoing was greed and envy.
@@sincerelyeugene6638dinah was still a weaker voodoo queen than marie tho - i still believe she only managed to break the spell from *the inside* if michael himself couldnt do it
No it still makes no sense, because even if that is the case yeah she could've entered herself maybe, but how could she break that spell when a room full of witches including Zoe & Queenie were chanting and Cordelia the supreme set that spell up so this would mean that Dinah's spell is more powerfull than the spell of all those witches combined
@@theroman3mpire293 the other witches chanting was irrelevant bc that was just a lesson for a DIFFERENT spell. and dinah is not weak ofc, but if michael needed her to break the spell undetected that means he himself cant do it bc he was def stronger atp which leads to the assumption its easier to break from the inside imo (imagine unlocking the door from the inside for someone vs trying to break in on the other end…u’d hardly need a key??)
@@detestor420 I wouldn´t call it horrible writing but I would say its inconsistency especially since they made it clear in the Hotel Episode were Queenie was attacked by that Vampire and her Power reflected the knife attack automatically without Queenie was prepared for this....it was also shown that her Powers dont work on Ghost but Ms. Meade was a Robot and Queenie already used her Powers on her seconds before and they worked but had no real impact as she is not human...
The Supreme is a title bestowed on a witch has mastery over all of the abilities known as "The 7 Wonders" and has a very high level of mastery over magic. Supremes can also have unique special abilities outside of "The Seven Wonders". A Voodoo Queen within the context of this show is a title given to someone who practices Voodoo and has high accomplishments, skill and power within Voodoo. Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau and Supreme Witch Fiona were essentially equals. While Voodoo Queen Dinah was somewhat less powerful than Supreme Witch Cordelia.
The Supreme is said to be a human embodiment of magic and their presence alone can cause the air around them to vibrate with their magical energy. Yes they contain all the magic but unfortunately they weren’t trained to access all of their magical capabilities. I’d like to think the Supreme are akin to Avatars and the power that sustain the Supreme magic has some sort of its own consciousness
@@marcus_thegamerd108 yes, Ramona! I guess in the coven realm it’s never really explained that magic needs to be consistent. It could have been a writing mistake or perhaps Queenie has to think about it before hand for it to work? @@mikeykirchner7379 she’s like a voodoo doll but it’s really confusing cause I was crying because of queenie and Zoe death so that’s why I was like queen should still be alive
it's basically a fanservicing season. fans theorised how the seasons are connected to one another and Bryan murphy legitimised it and tried hard for past seasons to link back to previous seasons. this was him giving the fans what they want but they knew they fucked up by linking the seasons together cause there are way too many plotholes. so this was like a big reset. at least I hope so. cause this is a mess.
This season don't make any sense to me. How come they have a house full of young witches but only Coco and Mallory seem to spend time with Cordelia and the other witches? Mallory I get it, she is powerful, but why Coco? Because she became best friend with Mallory? And why the witches are so weak now? In coven they used more her powers, Madisson use to fire things by looking at them, the only power I see them use is Telekinessis. Shame on you Ryan Murphy, this had the potential to be an amazing season since you were colliding the most liked seasons and you made a mess, especially the last 3 episodes, I mean this is the antichrist, why would he need a stupid robot. >:(

Season 10s finale is this Wednesday night. If you want I can give you access to my Google drive you so can watch season 10: Double Feature. I’m part Finnish my grandmother was from Finland 🇫🇮
So many plotholes in this scene. Queenie died to some glass and screws?? Zoe & Queenie not using transmutation or telekinesis again to reflect the attack again. Dinah breaking Cordelia's spell which was being reinforced by a room full of witches including Zoe & Queenie. I am not saying the could've won against Micheal, but definetly could've put up a better fight and the only way Queenie could've died was if Micheal used that soul disintegration power on her while being alive but I don't know how that would've worked. The writing was just bad for this scene.
Yup. She was saved from “her hell” by Michael Langdon in order to prove he was more powerful than Cordelia. He also saved Madison from “her hell”. You didn’t see season 8: Apocalypse ??
Y'all really think Fiona can beat Micheal while Crodelia is still alive? Even if she killed her daughter, there would be another Supreme to take her place. Crodelia is not a fighter but without her plan, Micheal could not be beaten.
@@helllss9571 LOL right!! Joan Collins makes me laugh, they should made her Alexis from Dynasty in AHS, “the bitch”, that would have been and let’s see how she would survive in the AHS , that would have been funny, lol 🤪😂😈
Cordelia is a caring and kind but she is not really a fighter. I hate how weak they portrayed her in S3. Doesn’t the Supreme have the power of resurrection? Quite a few of the others probably have it too. Remember the 7 wonders test? A lot of them could pass the resurrection test, I’m sure. It’s the descentium spell that was most difficult. So my big issue is them acting like each of these deaths was final when they could just resurrect them.
sorry for the late response, Cordelia tried to resurrect them, but Micheal has the power to delete a soul, which means that no resurrection can be done without the soul of the dead, that's why in the final episode, when Cordelia went to the academy astrally, she did not succeed
no she won't. she would've made a pact and get immortality, fame, youth and wealth. she's always been self-serving. she never actually changed. she only asked for forgiveness cause her time was up and she knew it.
