Date is my favorite char bcs of his story / fight was an expected end, idk i felt it but damn this fight with the Takamura vs Hawk are on different atmosphere totally agree with u
I think this song works really well for Ricardo as a character. We see in a fight later on in the manga that Ricardo considers getting hit just to interest the crowd, but then he rationalises that he is merely a human, and that is a dangerous game. "My mind is a loaded gun, no one can hear me screaming" - the constant battle raging in his mind, that he's a boring champion. "We all breathe and we all bleed" - Ricardo isn't some kind of God, despite his untarnished record, he is merely human.
I am late but anyway, He is boring in the sense that the crowd always knows how the match will go and even Ricardo knows that if he tries, he can go every match simply predicting and out-boxing all his opps

eiji is the only opponent who hit Ricardo with a clean hit and the only one who changed Ricardo's facial expressions even if it didn't affect him, and he was the strongest fighter Ricardo faced, if there was no Ricardo, Date would have become the hero
Until Wally that is, Wally gave Ricardo a run for his money. Sendo vs Ricardo will be incredible, an undefeated champion vs a man with raw instinct, speed and destructive power
That 7 year retirement really made a difference. Not saying Ricardo would be beat but Eiji would've had a much higher chance had he stayed active like Ricardo.
I definitely feel so too but Date took that first loss pretty badly and it broke him mentally. All that time he was retired, Ricardo kept getting stronger.
SSJ4 Gogeta yeah i agree i felt so bad especially before tbe fight he said to his wife "when the fights over bring my son into the ring im sure he would being carried by his champion father"
@@abhinavbali2052 I have a son and I'm an amateur boxer I'd feel like such crap if I made that promise and failed idk its one thing to be confident but against someone of his caliber that's being over confident
Man when I first watched date fight world champion for the first time I knew he could never beat him again just when I saw the quote "it ended in a blink of an eye"
I think everyone was hoping for Eiji to win and then for Ippo to fight him later in life. Watching Eiji go down like that was kinda hard. Especially with how much Ippo admired him. Not saying I hate Ricardos role as the "top guy", but Eiji could've filled that role as well.
It is said that Ricardo's punching power is the same level of Ippo's. Considering the fact that he was undefeated since he started boxing, and he's smarter and better in probably every way, and the anime is ongoing for 20 years (not going to go much much further which is needed for Ippo to reach Martinez's level), I don't think Ippo will beat Martinez ever, if they even have a match.
Agreed. Plus this series have a high degree of respect for weight classes. Plus i heard (didnt read it yet) that Ippo took another K.O. I honestly think the character is at his limit when the author is at his limit.
To this day, even as they let Sendo knock Ricardo down or have Wally be competitive... no one gave their body like Date, even if he never put Ricardo in any danger. I still consider this one of the best fights in the series.
@@nyder9johnson he was humble , he didn't talk all the crap because he knew he didn't need to , retired undefeated and was a god in the ring . People like him live for glory and legacy more than fame and money .
Nice song, but is funny how they put Ricardo as Terminator. Because Date didnt make him bleed or something. Super fake, mexicans are not made out of steel😂😂
Sixth Hokage i dont think so ricardo martinez and finito lopez who was inspired in him are excellent boxers pacquiao is good but martinez and finito lopez where in an other level he once fought a guy whith pacquiao’s style and did struggle but he still won
