I have a question,if the output node is negative compared to the ground potential.Then won’t the current direction in the nmos be in the opposite direction as well..

As the small signal current is a dependent source so the dependent node potentials decide the current directions , other node potentials doesn't matter

I have 2 doubts 1) how can be the drain of nmos be negative. The device structure does not support this 2) current in pmos always from source(higher potential) to drain(lower potential)
