It upsets me that CW gets to have a love interest in prison when his wife and kids lives are over because of him. He’s eating well, working out, dating, etc. meanwhile Shanann, Bella, Cece and Nico are dead in the ground. This is not justice 🤬
@@dirtyharry1844 Canada is still pretty lax on sentences for capital crimes too. At the rate that murder and serial murder continues to grow in frequency in that country though, at some point I think that will change.
Just like Tex Watson, who murdered pregnant Sharon Tate. He has married and had 4 kids, while in prison. And Ted Bundy even managed to have a child, with a woman on the outside, while on DEATH ROW! Unbelievable!! They even get to be on prison pen pal dating sites. Saw news story recently about that. Susan Smith, who murdered her two young sons, is on one. She talks in her profile about being lonely. Give Me A Break!!!
Like a typical passive aggressive narc, Watts played his parents off against Shannan and vice versa. he appeared to be supportive of Shananns stance, while stabbing her in the back to his parents. Poor Shannan couldn't see the game.......
I think everyone knew Shannan had a problem with in laws like that, toxic, envious, lower IQ individuals. But I think people chalked it up to the usual in law drama and didn’t know how dangerous they truly were. Nobody knew they hated her so much and were enablers when it came to violence against Shannan, violence that transferred to the girls as well. I wish anyone at all could have seen how dangerous contact with the Watts family was for her and the girls.
I also was in the same situation with my ex bf of 7 years (off and on of course). I couldn’t understand why he would do this. It really made me doubt my reality at times. Glad to have gotten away.
Because of the fact he doesn't feel anything. People like this learn very early on in life to mimic, empathy, sadness, being apologetic. The full spectrum of emotions, and they can become very good at it. So much so that they fool people for their entire lives.... He isn't that intelligent but the type of "intelligence" we commonly think of isn't really necessary to be good at this, it's a survival mechanism. Just wanted to add it's because they pick up early in life that it isn't normal to not express feelings and emotions. They come to realize that people will notice and it is something that needs to be hidden. Ugh goodness, this case is so emotionally draining. It truly has a lamented sadness that is overwhelming more than so many other cases for some reason. I think that's obvious considering how many ppl just are so curious, I think it's a few reasons but especially because ppl want to understand why and there is just nothing to adequately answer that question. I think we will get to hear more from his sorry ass because he can't go without the attention so I'm guessing he will run his mouth every few yrs when he feels that ppl are starting forget him. I wish he could understand no one wants to remember him, I mean the public. It's that beautiful woman her unborn child and those beautiful baby girls that people WILL always remember. I think he should have gotten the death penalty, he shouldn't have gotten a deal. Just my opinion.
If narcissism is a mental health disorder shouldn’t people who commit crimes or murder get some form of help or at least attempt at medical rehabilitation? I’m sure they understand right from wrong but ....truly do they? if their emotions are so affected and they lack control... does it warrant special laws in place for these kinds of conditions, I’m not fully if there are already, so apologies for my lack of knowledge....but even in the case of Nick Godejohn surely his Aspergers should have been taken into consideration. I still think they should serve long sentences of course but perhaps with medical treatment so they can be studied also.....it’s such an interesting diagnosis Narcissism . I find it quite hard to understand how they can diagnose it.
This case is truly disturbing in every single way. His parents and his sister are bizarre. I can't imagine behaving as they have after my son/brother murdered his wife and two little girls. I can't fathom being a part of this nightmare. My heart goes out to Shananns family. They will never be free of this. My God the damage done. I will always believe this was all rooted in Cindy Watts. Chris is absolutely responsible for the murders but on a level his mother was complicit and she continues to perpetuate this nightmare.
Unf it always goes further back so you will probably find that Cindy Watts had a disturbed childhood and one or both of her parents before her and so on ...
Thanks for this. I remember from the prison interview that he said he saw forgiveness in Shanann's eyes as he was killing her. I think you're right, he sees himself as special, entitled, and even righteous or martyrish.

Asphyxiation is a human's strongest trigger to survive. It is unlikely that Shanann was praying and forgiving him. He is also an abomination to God by using the scripture to deceive. When CW confesses in humility, with complete truth and accepts full responsibility for his actions, only then can we be certain that he found the Lord.

I think it’s very possible that NK was pregnant and that he knows this. That could explain many things in regards to him saying he is still a father, why he plead guilty and said to leave her alone, as she has been through enough, etc.

I am so glad you addressed this letter. He is so strange and void of remorse, did you notice he had to put an exclamation point on his proclamation of “I am still a dad!” Just so weird.
CW showed no emotion until he realised he was caught. Then-- he started crying and swearing , saying his life was ruined, and he would never go home. Also his fathers reaction when Chris tells him he strangled his wife. If I had said that to my father, he would have been on his feet ranting waving his arms and yelling, “what! What! How could you!. Whaaaaatttt! Etc etc, He would not have sat there calmly rubbing my back after finding out his grandchildren and his daughter in law had been slaughtered....and I was responsible.

Mom is a narcissist and Dad is an enabler. Enabling is probably the only way Dad had any chance to feel a connection to his narc son due to the relationship Chris had w his narc mother. I'm sure those two were thick as thieves, and if Dad had anything critical to say, it's likely he was utterly frozen out. So he became a totally spineless enabler.

To be honest, if my daughter murdered someone I would probably blame myself, and I don't believe I would abandon her in prison, she's just too much a part of me, but I can't imagine pretending there was no issue, that it was somehow the other person's fault. I would look back at how I raised her, what I missed, how this could have happened, and it would certainly haunt me until my dying day. But the way Cindy Watts smiles and dismisses reality is the most bizarre thing thing to me. I don't know how a person even functions with that level of denial, it's incomprehensible!

He’s never shown remorse! Even at the sentencing hearing when Bella’s death was described, he shed ONE tear! I find that insane that one tear was all he could muster up for his precious family. And I would bet my house on that one tear being shed because the public was hearing what he had done to his beautiful child, which in his mind was damaging his reputation - that one tear was not because of the terror and suffering he had inflicted on his own daughter while she struggled for her life..
Narcissists are not capable of remorse or a genuine apology. They think they're better than everybody else. They see no need for them to subjugate themselves in front of others because in their eyes, other people are barely human.
The psychology of Chris Watt is important for future prevention of such crimes similar to the case. At the same time I’m conflicted because I just want him to go away and not get the attention I know as a psychopath he craves.
Hes not that type of narcissist, he was never an attention whore. He was shy and quiet and actually avoided too much attention. He got his supply through other avenues not really attention. Hes not like Bundy.

He doesn't respond any other way to women, but he doesn't even realise it -- or that he's such a one-note personality. I also think he is very relieved, still, that they are gone -- and now he is free to enjoy his new status as The Prophet Chris. He is a complete joke of a human being.

I’ll like to know what his mother thought about NK. She was an immature selfish woman. All I remember her saying was “he was already in love with someone else.” Disgusting she would simply explain their adulterous affair that way. I find it fascinating that when CW was being interviewed by the FBI and CBI officers, when he described his family being missing (while trying to persuade them it was at the hands of someone else) - he referred to it as an ‘evil act’, yet when it turns out he was responsible for their murders, in his mind, this has become a ‘tragedy’. He will spend the rest of his life trying to hold other people and other circumstances responsible for his own actions. More worrying is those who believe him.
You are spot on in this video. The thing that always bothered me about people blaming Kessinger for this crime is that they took away some of the evil from Chris where it ALL belonged. Cindy Watts is self aggrandizing by reading this letter to the public. I think she actually enjoys the attention she receives as the mother of a family annihilator. There's some perverse pleasure she gets from keeping the focus on her and her son. It's almost as though the grandchildren have been forgotten. Perhaps that's her goal.

I agree, instead of laying low and keeping a low profile- she makes it about him and inadvertently about her. Nothing showing remorse for her deceased grandchildren.
I think about the family, too. I don't think she cares about them at all. She clearly didn't care about her granddaughters when she left out food that could potentially kill one of them. What I've found with people like her is their concern is always what they perceive as their best interests and everyone else can go to Hell. She's one sick momma. It's not a surprise she raised such troubled children.

You said something that stuck with me..when he was talking about still being a dad..it is so detached and odd that he would use those words in a sentence, given what he has done, that it just doesn’t make sense...he simply cannot relate to other human beings in any real way or have any meaningful human connections. He can’t not be ok. His life story is better than everyone else’s- he’s even been able to find the greatest of meanings in being jailed... It is still early in his life sentence I wonder if he will still behave this way in 30 years, when people have stopped paying attention and his parents have passed and he no longer has to be a good boy.
I think you are right about his new found messianic mindset. He has gone from sinner to saint in a very short amount of time yet we have never heard him repent or even say sorry. You really picked up so many subtle themes (no judgement of others, new found Christianity) in his police interview that Chris Watts has now ran with and exploited for his own self image. His line about letting others opinions sounded like Manson to me! You know what else comes and goes in a wind- passed gas! And passed gas is just about as meaningful to me to me as Chris Watts’ quasi-spiritual advice. It’s amazing that Chris Watts whose doing time for annihilating his entire family thinks he can teach precious life lessons - as if murder gives him a PH D is smart choices and righteous living. Wow it sounds like he’s completely disassociated himself from the heinous acts he has committed and now is in some messianic fantasy land and his family is falling for it instead of questioning his state of mind. Chris has no right to talk about Shannan or claim that he is still a father. He murdered them with his bare hands so that forfeits any relationship that existed prior.The fact that he has “fans” in prison is disgusting. Any woman who would stoop so low as to pursue a relationship with a serial killer has major issues (most likely daddy issues).

In his prison interviews Watts was asked point blank about NKs involvement. Instead of exonerating her outright, he avoided answering and changed the subject. Why didn't he just outright deny she was involved? Since he still seemed to care about her and hinted about her writing to him under an an alias, and how he would like to see her one more time to apologize for "dragging her into this". If he really cared why not just say "No, she wasn't involved and had no knowledge of my plans"?
@@daniellejazziest2569 He joked about it in his prison interviews with the FBI agents - that NK might be secretly writing under an alias as one of his "admirers". It was a hint to her to do just that.
Why... because leaves that little doubt for all the fools that blame her for it. He has kept up with all the media and knows everyone is nit picking his every move and word and my staying silent about it , it gives everyone the reason to say .. see she did. He never loved NK. Only himself. And it was clear by the time he was doing that last interview he felt "betrayed" by NK. He was in the jail and she was an "outsider" that abandoned him.

Actually one more thing. I remember when the Watts family gave their statement to the judge, (from memory, correct me if im wrong) the mother said something along the lines of "we love you and we will always love you" etc. This was said infront of shannans family. I found that really strange and incredibly insensitive. Is this normal? I knw scott Petersons parents did something similar but i just thought they could've told him one on one, not in front of the victims family. Am i making too much of this or is that standard?

I really appreciate your approach to the Chris Watts story (and others). So many of the commentaries seem to try to draw out, sensationalize, and repeatedly go over the details of the crimes. Your channel is a breath of fresh air in that your purpose is to help people understand the why of the things Chris Watts and those involved with him do and say. Great video! I would love to hear your opinion on the narcissist mother in more depth. I’ve heard that narcissistic mothers can sometimes also exhibit signs of Munchausens by proxy? You have a very direct way of explaining these afflictions. As someone who has suffered this type of abuse I find your videos very therapeutic.
Why would he blame nk for his actions, either she manipulated him to think she would be pleased with his actions or he chose to kill his family to be free of responsibility and go off with nk. Either way he was a grown man and made the choice to MURDER his wife, unborn son and his two adorable daughters. He is a monster no matter what he says!!!
Is it correct to say that Watts created the false self mask because his mother found his real self to he unlovable because she is incapable of real love for a child. Now, Watts is preserving the only relationships he has left (mostly his mother) by maintaining the false self mask instead of trying to understand what mental health issues causes the murders- (not that he didn’t choose- just what is wrong with him so he understand his own life) so the mask serves his mothers and his own need to preserve the fiction at the heart of the terrible dysfunction that his mother was a good mother who actually loved him when it was her deficiencies that destroyed Watts real self an and shriveled it up.
Such a great video. Thank you for your insight, I had such trouble putting it into words when I was trying to analyze that letter and you explained it perfectly. I was infuriated by his letter, to say the least. I feel so disturbed and agitated by the fact that he’s surrounded by people who treat him like he’s a good person (his parents, friends, and his “fans” which I assume he is allowing some to visit him these days). He shouldn’t get to live a day with “peace” and “forgiveness” even being in his vocabulary.
From watching your videos I picked that up right away on how chis talked about the wind. He has now found a new persona ( a biblical character) he can't think for himself, he takes from others what he sees . He talks how they talk. First Shanann then Nikki now a prophet and movie characters in between.

I think this was Cindy's way of saying that "we're fine none of this is getting us we're good" that's all Cindy cares about is appearances, she doesn't care about anything else, not those girls, her son, nothing. it's all about Cindy this is her way of flipping the world off
