Can you make an absolute beginners guide like where to get roms and things like that? I had a tech savvy friend download gamma OS onto my rg405m about a year ago, but it looks a little different from how yours does and I'm afraid to factory reset before downloading the new version of gamma OS. Would be much appreciated. Great video btw!
Hi Henry. So I just reverted back to Stock from Gamma OS because I just dont like Daijisho all that much. I am no expert, I have only been into retro Hand devices for about 4 months but I started out strong and alot overwhelmed with all what's to learn without a device that didn't have any ssd card with games, aka Odin 2 Pro. I got so overwhelmed at first I ended up buying a second device, R36S, and fell so in love with the software. I wanted more power so now the RG405V and again without a games card. Everything I have been seeing about the 405V talks about how much better Gamma OS is so ofcourse I installed it and then put Emulation Station on it since this is my Choice of front ends. I have also been seeing a few comments here and there about ES-DE and how good this front end is. Will there be any chance anytime soon for you to make a re-vision of Gamma OS without Daijisho and or a Version of Gamma with ES-DE? I really like the Gamma OS software but to have it without Daijisho would be so great that if was built with choices of different front ends it would make it so awesome. It is already so awesome but just wanted to ask this question to you. Thank you for reading.
Well, TheGammaSqueeze is the creator of Gamma OS. I'm not sure if he has plans on doing that or not. But I know there have been people who have installed Gamma OS and then just changed the default launcher to be ES-DE. I think I remember seeing some people sharing how to do it in the gammaOS GitHub issues page. I'll see if I can find it again and may make a video on it.
They have options on the site if you want to also get an SD card with the device that has games preinstalled. Another option is to get a collection like "Tiny Best set go" Should be the first link when googled on Internet archive.
It will only come with games if you get their preloaded SD cards. It's recommended to source your own if you have the knowledge to do so as you can't guarantee it will have the ones you want and the Roms they provide might not be the best quality.
