Ace combat isn't anime. Edit: Argument: Try playing Xseed games like trails series and I think you will understand my point. It doesn't have those happy go round and overoptimistic characters who give overdramatic speeches with cringy voice acting. Plus, there are no teenagers and the art style isn't even anime. How can you even say something is anime if the art style is not? You could say it is anime-ish though. Ace combat is not an anime game but it is an anime-ish game. I mean, would you really call Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Rising REvengeance, and Tekken 7 anime?
erusean command: four aircraft destroyed the entire port?! you must be hallucinating freaked out radar officer: ITS NOT A HALLUCINATION ITS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!
I honestly felt sorry for that girl. The voice actor really sells how panicked she is and the feeling of total helplessness in her voice. Totally had me sold, the one character i felt sorry for... except maybe that 1 su-37 pilot who sometimes says " if it's my time, all the more honorable at the hands of three stri...." (it cuts off because his plane explodes).
Fun fact: The bridge in Yokohama, [I have been there before, I live in Japan rn] is the inspiration for the Anchorhead Bridge. Just search Anchorhead Bridge, then Yokohama bridge.
i think the entire Yokohama is a stand in for anchorhead. when you fly over the suburb area, the housings looks very much like modern japanese houses. not to mention the harbors and all the manmade islands
Little did they know, every salvage company in Strangereal had been bought out by a single company... *That is how General Resource became a corporate superpower.*
@@matiassacchelli8440 A Foxhound pilot who always retreats once it becomes appearant Trigger is flying amongst the Oseans. He was also in Unexpected Visitor
@@joshmccalip6053 He prefers finger food up in the AWACS because that's the only thing he can efficiently eat. Down on the ground is a different story.
Yea, especially that female EW radar officer. I felt sorry for her TBH. Although IMO watching a squadron of aces do their work would in a strange sense be an honor.
I mean, wouldn’t you panic if you were getting bombed by not 1 Ace, but 4 Aces? Especially one that has a reputation among both sides of the war, feared by one side but boosts the morale of the other?
Erusea's radio comms during this mission really shows just how terrified the Erusean millitary is of Trigger, they quite literally lost almost if not the entire harbor and it's ships along with a significant amount of jets, helicopters and commanders all because of just a single plane.
It makes it even more apparent we are dealing with a total insane psychopath with nuclear weapons and the will to use them. The worst combination possible.
**never played any AC game** **just watched a stream and liked the music track of this mission** **sees all these comments about the story, characters and plot** **is very VERY confused**
@@JongleurBt1 I finally got time to jump onto the campaign and do it in one sitting, finally reached the Anchorhead Bay SP mission and 'OH BOI' was it based. SU-34 and SFFS, the chaos, the OST and desperate radio chatter, the explosion and mayhem were something else, almost a holy experience
@@paparazzy1000 the entire game is god tier but this mission was really something else. The score is insane, billions of air and ground target, torres turnig mad and epic showdown 444th vs mimic at the end. Perfection
Alongside with "Daredevil", "Hush" and "Mimic Squadron" this is one of the songs that really manage to capture the action that is happening duing the mission, it starts slow and smoth, remaining a calm fit, until the electric drums shows up, indicating that Torres has entered in the mix, lunching the drones as target beacons and firing the rail gun shells turning everything in a living hell, until the song starts to kick up at 4:13 where all the instruments play in action, giving the sense of as the player you are overcoming everything in this mission despite the odds, and my god... you got to praise those violinists, it adds the sensation where you are avoiding missiles like no tomorrow while trying to get the high score as possible and at the same time trying to not get shotdown by the enemy and voiding the shells explosions. Who every composed this, deserves a throphy.
I love it so much, the music really communicates that sense of flow where you've finally gotten comfortable with the game. The early stages you're trashing missiles against Migs, but by the DLC you're so used to things you're this skygod dodging SAMs and dropping fools left and right.
: "How many ships are still operational in port?" : "We've yet to assess damage, but likely less than half!" : "Ludicrous! They'll fill the port with scrap metal at this rate!"
In this mission I saw how Lanza destroyed the entire battlecruiser singlehandedly, I mean... that guy is better ally than anyone I had as wingman in other AC games)
Last time a harbor was wreck , Erusean's military has nightmares with the sound of the F-22 Raptor's engine flying and blue ribbons, while Matias save the crew of one ship.
@@teronmillen6802 Judging by the skins for the planes we get, I'd say Trigger was flying an F15C at this point, since that one has Count's Strider skin. And yes, lasers work JUST as well forfor tearing the port apart as LASM's.
That's the one thing I wish they carried over from Assault Horizon. Granted it was two-player co-op, but regardless it would be awesome. Never played Infinity but that one is 8-player no?
@@Pikachu790 AC6 had 4P coop, didn't it? Which I guess is really fitting given how much this felt like an AC6 mission with multiple subregions of battle.
I second that Yusuke should come back for future games. His tone and theme of how he executes his songs fits right in with Keiki, Tetsuya and Hiroshio, whom I've come to call "The main 3 of the soundtracks". He could definitely make that trio a four wingman team. Their combined talent would make the soundtracks even more epic. I hope Kono doesn't forget about him, either.
Erusean port female officer: After hearing that response from her it made me felt bad for randomly(cause the ships on anchorhead bay was getting ready to engage the alicorn but was intercepted by strider squadron Due to the brigader gave the wrong info)destroying her base and her deployed ships
@Joshua Ngau Ajang Imagine if there were special voice lines for the F-22, with one of the more experienced officers screaming about a Grim Reaper in the sky.
@@sargesacker2599 you can do it actually, was doing a run with the Su-35S/Su-37(I forgot) + LASM with homing and payload parts on it on a whim, destroy the Aegis Shore first before it activates and spam LASM on the ships after, when you're done with the ground targets, change to any AAM SP and kill large points planes quick (I prefer LAAM cuz it has better homing) and snipe far targets easily with it (and the marker drones), doing that alone gave me like 57k points with no damage to me at all, just be careful and dont go slow when there's clusters of enemies nearby or you get cucked by their missiles (I was cucked by an ship SAM)
@@gallantsteel8542 He means he kept retrying it over and over. TBH if all that shit happened to me and this level didn't have epic music I would likely throw my controller out of the window
Kingdom Hearts III came out this year, and that is a pretty tough contender, to be honest... Disclaimer (shouldn't be necessary, but I want to be sure I can't be misinterpreted): not saying that it's gonna win because it's more famous, I'm saying the OST from that game can definitely rival the Ace Combat ones
@@stemmarb7r751 It's Shimomura vs Kobayashi These two are legends in the videogame music composition department and both have a long history of making excellent soundtracks. Hard to root for one when the other is also as good.
Yeah, it gets melancholic during this part, a bit sad, but then it starts to get hopeful again. These AC tracks are an emotional rollercoaster, I almost tear up listening to some of them.
@@br_i4360I'm picturing myself driving on the hallway at the speed limit, turning on my turn signal, and then spin a 360 to the next lane while hearing "STALL ALERT, STALL ALERT" while still maintaining forward drive XD
Listening to this while revising one of my essays and having to expand another by 2 pages for my final portfolio. Due by 11:59 tonight. Also having to finish a triptych art final due Friday. Stacked against impossible odds but still beatable. 😊
Not to mention those damn VSL missiles that have insane maneuverability and speed. You either need to fly very low or be super sure you still have Chaff and Flares.
The best part about this mission ( in my play through) is I had the Falken in the Osean skin and I had the Razgriz emblem and I just rained hell fire on everything. Recreating the Legend of Razgriz 😇🔥🔥🔥
@@soundwave5634 Pulse Lasers last week, heard the line. It was in the middle of a different report the girl on the comms says, you really have to listen to catch it. Which is hard, because there are oh so many appetizing targets to "eat" (more like devour).
Yea, QAAM and manually guided weapons are the only effective weapons against them (heck I would argue standard missiles would do better than any SP Missile other than QAAM)
@@ninovalenzuela1019 yeah from what I can tell. score wise I already did about 80,000 points post mission in the end. that's even way higher then I can pull off on Siren Song.
Remember ace combat 5? Remember the raid on port st hewlit? The third mission i have that vibe but only i feel like im working for the yukotabanian side
Lost Kingdom, understandable. This? This sounds kick-ass, like you're blasting enemies to pieces for the hell of it, and yet the enemy is still gunning for you. The war is still in full swing, and it's your duty to sink those ships.
Legitimately, I just came from there all disappointed because I wanted to listen to this out of the mission itself, but luckily, RU-vidrs do not disappoint so here we are ;)
Here from the non-extended version, which for some damn reason has been deemed as "for kids." Cause, y'know, committing what is basically AC's equivalent of Pearl Harbor is apparently kid friendly
