I dont see how his game looks old. He's rallying from the baseline. He was just the best baseliner ever...taking ball early every single time was insane
Agassi went to at least 1 Slam final in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005 (Winning 3) so hard to say he was a 90s guy. Sampras was as good as any of these guys and Agassi went 13-17 lifetime so I think Agassi in his prime could hang. Plus he went toe-to-toe with Federer in the 2005 US Open Final at the age of 35. He is one of the all time greats.
This shot tells it all why Andre Agassi is the greatest player of all time. His ability to take the ground strokes and service return early, and taking the ball on the rise with such great precision and impact. How many players on earth can do that. That's simply top class. Unlike players like Nadal taking extreme western grip, lose already throw up high top spin lob. So CI-NA, This type of tactics will only upset the momentum of average players but not a top class player like Agassi.
Federer does this too (did it with a forehand in this most recent Aussie final), so if that's the reason you think Agassi is better than Federer you should probably reevaluate
That's the shot every Tennis player wants to play against moonballs. but only end up executing in their dreams. 😉 This one from Nadal was too good to hit a winner. Even Djokovic struggles when Rafa execxutes them well.. How on earth did he hit a winner on that!!!
