I mean…you could still implement the majority of this routine aside from the hour workouts (which aren’t really good every single day anyway). Just get up 15 mins earlier for the jog and sunlight, cold shower, avoid the phone and caffeine for first 90-120 minutes (which is probably a good idea since your boss probably would want you to anyway)

I recall my grandparents lifestyle living in rural area. They got up every morning at 5 a'clock, drunk some fresh water(had a fountain), washed face with cold water and then going to feed the livestock, doing gardening and what else around the house. They usually had their first meal around noon time, and of course coffee was not a part of their diet! They were slim and fit till the end. Miss them a lot!

Any tips to begin developing these good habits? I’m currently in college and do great with my academics I just have trouble putting aside the time to treat myself well, even though I definitely do have the time. Should I just try to force myself into consistency until it becomes habit? I feel like I have the sense of urgency to get things done that need done, but I don’t have the discipline to create small wins for myself day by day.

This routine changed my life. Day one went like this: 6:45am- Naturally wake up (no alarm) and hydrate 7:00- 15 min outdoor walk 7:30- At the gym, 1hr work out 8:30 - Cold plunge 9 - Get to work, explain to my foreman why I'm 2 hours late to the job site. 9:10- Take my coffee break, again, explain to the crew why I'm not doing anything. Delayed caffeine intake is optimal! 9:20- Do 90 min of mindful work with meditation time throughout. No one is happy about that. 11- Take my lunch break, it's an hour before everyone else but I'm optimizing. Noon - Begin my post lunch deep rest. At this point the foreman fired me. I continued this routine with my next 3 jobs. I have been unemployed and homeless for 6 months now and I'm writing this under a bridge in my cardboard box. I'm the most optimal and mindful man in my encampment.

Most real life working people in the West don't work such long hours, man. In fact, the average wake time in the US is about 7:20, and in many European countries it's closer to 8:00. I don't think Huberman's main points are unfeasible for the majority, except for the 60 minute workout in the middle of the morning. If you already work an active job as it looks like from your post, you probably don't need it as much as a sedentary individual anyway.

Wow a whole 90 mins of work 😂, I'm in work for 10 hours . In all seriousness though , I also follow something similar in the morning , with a small set of exercise , no coffee for an hour ( which is decaf ) and then go to work 👍 Huberman is a legend

I incorporated the 90 mins no caffeine into my routine about a year ago and its truly worked wonders. Dont even get tired in the afternoon anymore. I do most of these things in my morning routine every morning, except the 90 mins work which I just do when I actually get to work. Get tips.

Nice Routine. Little adjustments so it fits my day. I gotta work so i get up at 4:30 so I'm done by 6:50 and ready for work. I cut out the 90 minutes because I don't work from home, added 20 Minutes of Reading. Never took my coffees 2 hours after getting up. That's something to work on for me I couldn't say no 😅

Im up at 5.30 every morning for work at 7. No sunlight in Ireland in winter till at least 8.30, so sunlight i dont see until 3.30, when i leave to go home 😂. Ironically, i drink water, Well water (A pint glass), not tap water, first thing upon waking. No working out till about 4.15. Most days. Done my back in 3 weeks ago. Still not right, need to get back training before depression sets in. Been doing light pilates stretches twice a day and taking Ashwagandha for inflammation, then i meditate. All this to try heal my lower back, to get back active. God is good 🙌🏻

I think Huberman has mentioned earlier that deliberate cold exposure shouldn't be done after workout, so not sure if some detail in sequence is missing.

I work from home and cant do most of it. Yea I did start delaying breakfast until 11-12. But I need to workout around 4 when its too hot during the summer and gyms are overcrowded at that time. But if I worked from the office I would not be able to do any of the things above

I wake up 8 am, join online meetings for my work starting 8.30. and until around noon. At noon I take a nap for 30 min, then I go out to my garden for about an hour with my cats if weather allows, when I comeback I prepare breakfast and have branch around 2-3 PM (nothing before that other than water), after eating I work for 3-4 hours on my computer (sometimes longer), then I take my vitamins and eat my dinner around 7 pm. After that I do some house cleaning, laundry etc, and finally I get upstairs to my chambers - take care of my online business on my home computer for 2-3 hours while watching YOutube, then take a shower, get ready to sleep. which is usually between midnight and 1 am. On weekend thought I usually out walking in the nature all day long.

Tough crowd here 😅 it’s all about what works best for your routine. I also run a business and work 10-12 hour days but I love getting up super early in the am when it’s still dark out or the sun’s just rising. I meditate, workout and do the cold shower before I start my work day and it sets the tone for the rest of the day. You just need to find what works best for you and your schedule.
