The thunder album was Andy's moment as a rocker. Too bad people didn't accept this style from him. If you listen to the album it really is a well put together collection of rockin' tunes. Duran fans will never like it.
I am a Duranie.....I also obsessed over the album Thunder. It all depends how open one is to different styles of music. You are right though, a lot of people did not accept it.
It's not that DD didn't appreciate him. It simply is that DD is a pop group and Andy is a rocker. I still can't understand this blaming DD or Andy for his departure 33 years on. It was a natural thing. Andy couldn't fit anymore there.
When will the other guys realize that they are not as famous without Andy. You can just watch the Wembley concert and other concerts they did around the world. And they had those huge arenas hoppin' back when they were doing the reunion tour. If only ALL of them would stop and sit down and talk out their differences. I hear that some of the band and fans have been asking Simon to write a book. Don't know whether that would be a good or bad thing or not. But it sure would be interesting!!
