Not really Without the Ruinstorm ( which was the WB's doing ) The DA's, BA's and UM would've bumrushed Terra So by technicality, WB did the most carrying in the Heresy since they neutralized 2 of the Most Powerful Legions ( BA are a bonus ) and 1 of the Primarchs with the best hands ( Since Sangy made it through )
@@starhammer5247 he has wanted death a few times. The Emperor ruined his 1st one, Horus failed to deliver the 2nd one, and now Lorgar has ruined the 3rd.
40K Angron is so consumed by the pain, rage and suffering he barely knows where he is at all, only knowing the fury of combat when he is released and just barely remembering a hint of who he was. This from the Arks of Omens book the Lion, where the Lion duels and beats Angron.
@@ZaKRo-bx7lpyeah, from what I recall some ultramarines showed up and started shooting angron who was mid stroke from a rage induced butcher nails moment, guiliman got extracted with a bloodied nose and angron's Liberians tried to prevent his acention only to die in the process/physic backlash form it. Last one was dragged before angron who was busy eating some world eater corps before he killed the last Liberian much to logar's enjoyment at his new gods giving him power to do this "miracle" of saving a dying brother and rebirthing him into a red angel.
Lorgar just made him a bigger slave, I wonder if Lorgar has done some deep introspection after all these millennia of meditation and finally realised maybe chaos isn’t that cool.
@EricSoldadito And Chaos is any better how? 😂, Great crusade Imperium was lowkey a goated time to live in 40k, no xenos to enslave/kill humanity and The Imperium itself was pretty stable and technological, until Chaos happened and ruined every plans for a HFY galaxy like The Emperor planned
The joke is, Angron had years to escape before they hammered nails into his head. He did not. He was content at being a slave and gladiator untill nucerians told him to fight his chain-brother to death.
“What would you know of struggle, perfect son? When have you fought against the mutilation of your mind? When have you had to do anything other than tally compliance's and polish your armor? The people of your world named you "Great One". The people of mine called me slave. Which one of us landed on a paradise of civilization to be raised by a foster father, Roboute? Which one of us was given armies to lead after training in the halls of the Macraggian High Riders? Which one of us inherited a strong, cultured kingdom? And which one of us had to rise up against a kingdom with nothing but a horde of starving slaves? Which one of us was a child enslaved on a world of monsters, with his brain cut up by carving knives? Listen to your blue clad wretches yelling courage and honor, courage and honor, courage and honor! Do you even know the meaning of those words? Courage is fighting the kingdom which enslaves you, no matter that their armies outnumber yours by ten-thousand to one. You know nothing of courage! Honor is resisting a tyrant when all others suckle and grow fat on the hypocrisy he feeds them. You know nothing of honor!”
Its kinda sad that two times Angron was ready to die and both times someone else stepped in and denied him the peace of death. First it was the Emporer and then Lorgar. All Angron wanted to do was die as a free man and finally be rid of the pain from the Butcher's Nails.
Nah I remember that he was allready weakened by Lorgar and no match for angron. He destroyed the skull of one of angron fallen Rebell fighters, which make angron so angry that he go full berserker mode and turns into a deamon
technically he was right on the verge of death due to the nails but he whooped guillimans ass, chapter 26 of betrayer i believe is where it takes place
"Courage and Honor. Courage and Honor. COURAGE AND HONOR! Do you even know the meaning of those words?" His whole speech at G man was great, one of the few good moments we get from Angron. Poor man never stood a chance...
Angron deserved better. He probably was supposed to be a healer originally. Would have been up there with sanguinius in reverence had things gone differently.
I love the idea of Lorgar holding like a mega church style sermon in the background whilst his brothers 1v1. “YES, LET THE CHAOS GODS INTO YOUR SOUL BROTHERS!!!!! BECOME ONE WITH THE WARP SPIRIT!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!”
I think at one point, Lorgar did care about all his brothers, but after the pilgrimage, I feel he is written in a way that really leaves it up to the reader to decide. We know for a fact that the butcher's nails were going to kill Angron, so it really works out perfectly. Lorgar gets to do his priest of chaos thing and save his brother.
@@puglife5966 if he wanted to save his brother he should have done what the Emperor didn't and put him out of his misery by killing him rather than making him a slave of Chaos.
Betrayer: Aaron Dembski Bowden. It’s a really good read, and last I checked you can get it on paperback for a good price. It’s also my personal favorite 40k book.
Finally, someone pronouncing Roboute properly. Same thing with Custodes, its literally Custodian without the ian. Sorry, shit rubs me all the wrong ways :)
In my opinion, i think that even the emperor knew that his sons were about to betray him, so i think he just make them to do so, like Angron, his whole life as a war slave, and even when the emperor arrives, he was sentenced to wear the butcher nails
Pretty sure Angron got the nails before the Emperor arrived and they were unable to be removed without killing or severely damaging Angron's brain. Angron forcing all his space marines to get the nails though was definitely something that shouldn't of been allowed.
Lorgar had promised he would save Angron from dying to the butcher’s nails. I think he really did care about Angron, and saw demonic ascension as the best fate possible for anyone (as you know, he’s a chaos worshipper)
