her voice, her voice -- exactly right. man. this takes me back, dude. the whole album of the soundtrack she did to 1984, the track "Jennifer", so much, so much ... Annie is Amazing. and every day with Jamel is a good day. thank you for turning to Annie Lennox, man. "Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves", is a stand-out track.
@@kevinhuetson7701 :My second favorite, and almost equal with Annie, is Sade Adu. Unbelievably sexy and sensuous performances by that lady. I can't believe that Jamel has not reviewed her yet!
She was the voice of the Eurythmics...check out "Sweet dreams", "Would I lie to you" and "Here comes the rain again". Annie Lennox is just a great singer today and 30+ years ago.
Sweet Dreams is one of my top favorite songs, Eurythmics version first, but Marilyn Manson put a chill to it that I liked. I forgot about "Here Comes The Rain Again"!!! Awesome Eurythmics song!!!
Annie: “Why”, also “Walking On Broken Glass”. The Eurythmics- “Missionary Man”, “Here Comes The Rain Again”, “Who’s That Girl?”. So great. All of them. Annie’s voice is one of the greats.
Just about ANY of her songs on the Diva album will put a spell on you. She's got such a STRONG, beautiful voice. Have you heard her, David Bowie, and Queen perform "Under Pressure" in a Freddie tribute? She has the pipes to carry it!!
@@maricepelletier2107 I'm not sure which of their versions I like better. The actual performance or the rehearsal. Both are GREAT! But I guess the "performance" is the song all the way through.
@@maryscaggsdane1978 Love both as well. The rehearsal showed the talent, the chemistry, and the show put all of that is a gorgeous box. BTW Diva one of the best.
Annie Lennox and I were born on the same day!!! Sissy Spacek, too (but a few years earlier). Annie Lennox has a powerful voice and very controlled delivery. Love Walking on Broken Glass and Why.
@@lanceswaim4636 Aretha was still a little old-fashioned, eh? Annie could be perceived as almost anything, lesbian, alien...I think that's part of her appeal, besides being a great singer and performer.
I needed cheering up today and as usual your smiling face and positive attitude has done it. You’re not just keeping music alive honey you’re keeping love alive! Thank you
Anything that Annie Lennox does is amazing!!! She has the best voice in the world. I love her and she touches my soul! Thanks for reacting to this. Love you Jamel!!
Annie is such a Badass. Always will be. Somehow I can see her sitting in a bar in New Orleans at a piano singing this song.... Thank goodness for Spotify. I have her on mine. HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN is great.
Love Song for a Vampire was perfect for Bram Stoker's Dracula, just wish they'd placed it better than in the end credits. Would have had more of an impact if it started playing after she kissed Dracula after killing him.
Absolutely love her and her voice. She’s 65 now and she still has a strong voice. Also she sang beautifully on Lord of Rings soundtrack and film as did Enya.
My brother I am going to be 70 in March and I absolutely love to watch you finding the music I grew up with. The music doesn't seem to have the same soul that it did back then. Love your reactions keep on keepin on.
I have loved her 🎶 music for many many yrs. She always puts on a top performance..wherever she may be. .She has true talent..and still, ❤❤love her sound.
You're so right everything you said about her. She has a voice like no one. Just hearing a few words and you know it her. Thanks darlin, you be the man. 👏🍻👏
She's always been great !! Thx she did beautifully !! Beautiful voice. My fave on this song is still Angelina Jordan but Annie Lennox great. Good to see her again.
@@sheilaswegler4859 hi Sheilia, i am from London UKl I Love all Annie's Songs👌A few of my faves are Missonary Man, Thorn In My Side, Love is Stranger & I Need A Man👍Stay Safe🙏X
Jamel barely got through the first line of the song, an needed a break. Good God Almighty. Peace, protection and blessings of Lord Jesus upon you and yours
Hi Jamel. I’m 61 yrs old from Canada. I just came across your channel on Friday and haven’t stopped watching since. I love hearing all the songs from my youth. The thing I enjoy most is your reactions to these songs. You facial expressions are priceless. Keep up the good work and I’ll continue to watch.
Annie Lennox a few years sang live in New York Christmas carols. One was outstanding. The Coventry Carol. An old English traditional carol (very old). She shows her adaptability. It’s brilliant.
Great story from a few years ago when an talent spotter from a small-time US radio station, who didn’t realise she was a veteran, award-winning super-star, sent her an e-mail to offer her some air time on the show to give her some exposure. Annie Lennox’s sweet and gracious Tweet about it probably doubled the radio station’s listenership overnight! 😄 If you’re in the mood for more great Scottish performers, check out: Paulo Nutini (New Shoes), Texas (I don’t want a lover), Travis (Sing), Fairground Attraction (Perfect), The Proclaimers (500 Miles), Wet Wet Wet (Love is all around), RunRig (Loch Lomond), Frightened Rabbit (Woodpile), Plenty more where they come from.
Annie Lennox certainly has her own sound. The thing I love about her & other artists that stand out is that they don't sit back on their laurels & sing the same stuff over & over; they push the limits, just like David Bowie, always changing & always exciting. Another artist you might want to check out is Chrissie Hynde lead singer & guitarist of The Pretenders."Brass In Pocket" & her cover of "Forever Young".
Yes, you are correct, this is what you heard in 50 shades 😎 👌. Gave me chills the way it was in the movie and gives me chills every time I hear this. No disrepect to the other artists and the original artist, but this I believe is my favorite version of this song! Oh man, wow!!! Thanks soooo much, love it!
Incredible find!!! She still has one of the best female voices out there. No auto tune, electric magic, just pure talent and soul. Thanks for the reaction
Halloween just isn't going to be the same this year. My neighbor across the courtyard from me moved away this year. He was was a big Halloween fan and would put up a poster Michael Meyers on his door and play the Halloween music almost non-stop through Halloween and beyond. It was creepy as heck, but I'm seriously going to miss it.
Great! Annie Lennox is in my top ten for amazing vocals! Along with Anne Wilson(Heart), Joan Baez, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin......
Several years ago, she did this at the Grammies (or something awards sow) after joining Hozier on “Take me to Church”. I think that performance was better than this one and she stole the whole dang show.
I was blessed enough to see her live years ago when she toured with Sting. Annie has one of the most powerful and distinctive voices out there. When Annie comes on my girls and I will always sing out loud.
Yes, that was Annie's version of this song in 50 Shades of Gray. This song came out in 2014 and Annie is 65 now. And you're right: age doesn't matter. If you got it, you got it!! :-)
I think she was 60 when she released this. Still a ton of power in her voice, you are lucky you can discover her solo albums Diva and Medusa (all covers), both excellent. And her days with the Eurythmics, tons of releases
Annie is a national treasure of Scotland; and deservedly so. I would strongly suggest you have a look at "Why" from her album Diva. This sister has been doin'i for herself for a few decades now. She still has "it". Please Jamel, more Annie! peace and love from an old Aussie - out.ps...she is 65 years old (ageless).
There are so many Eurythmics and Annie Lennox solo music hits. Have a Look at Eurythmics songs, Sisters Are Doin It For Themselves, Thorn In My Side, You Have Placed A Chill in My Heart, There Must Be An Angel, Who's That Girl and Annie Lennox songs, Walking On Broken Glass, Why, No More I Love Yous, Little Bird. Sending lots of love from the UK x
